Cold brew with dalgona topping and brown sugar milk with dalgona topping

Sip Boba Tea House rivals and reminds me places back in California - which truly is high praise if you know me! The owners make all their syrups and toppings in house & the boba is always the right consistency of QQ. While I love their pumpkin sauce (it's seriously like drinking pumpkin pie), strawberry sauce and dalgona - you know a place is legit by how good their 'normal' milk tea is. Sip's Jasmine milk tea is legit. It's not watery at all and has really strong tea flavor that comes through. Also, for parties, Sip sells boba totes!! It's epic and super convenient! All you need to add is ice.

A new boba shop in Ann Arbor, with the owner making and mixing his own syrups for all his concoction? Yes please. We walked in on a rainy Sunday and was immediately greeted by the exceptionally friendly owner. As usual, we went in to try the black milk tea and branched off from there. Classic Black Milk Tea, 16oz, Less Sweet, Almond Milk w/ Boba ($6) - The owner told me that Sip uses a house made brown sugar mix to sweeten their milk teas rather than the typical fructose machine that most boba shops use. He didn't recommend reducing the sweetness, but I figured that it was easier to add more sweetener if I found it to not be sweet enough. Well, at the end of the day, it turns out that whatever ratio he used was just fine, creating a drink that is sweet without overwhelming the almond milk and black tea flavors. The drink overall is well balanced, with a bit of the tea fragrance and astringency coming through. I regret to say that the boba is on the hard side, with very little chew. Drink Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 Ube Milk, 16oz, Oat Milk ($6.25) - I went back to order a second drink after savoring the flavors of the first. The Ube Milk has a fantastically rich ube flavor which is fragrant, earthy, and delicious. The owner mentioned that he takes ube concentrate and infuses it with his house-made simple syrup. The ratio is perfect, so that the sweetness is an undercurrent to the drink and the ube flavor is front and center. (4/5) It is interesting to note that the cups have the sippy lid design, which are not normally used to accommodate the boba straw and is a departure from other boba places. While I wouldn't return to get boba as topping, I would try their other drinks. The offerings here are high quality and thoughtfully composed. Bathrooms - Single unisex room in the back. Overall rating of the drinks this visit: 3.5/5

Sip has very quickly become a frequent go to! The shop has a cute minimal, but welcoming vibe and it's pretty spacious. The owner is super friendly and customer service is always great! The quality and flavor of their tea is impressive! I've gotten the plain iced jasmine tea and it was delicious. They make their own syrups and they always feel well balanced with the tea and milk. I do usually ask for half or less sweetness and that is perfect. Everything seems super customizable so you can't go wrong! The boba's texture was also perfect! I tend to like more classic milk tea drinks so I haven't ventured into their more creative menu items yet. I did try the supermoon milk my partner got and it was really good! Definitely a welcome addition to the growing boba-landscape in Ann Arbor!

They have a lot of different drinks here -- I like that you can customize or choose from their premium drinks. The inside is pretty big and was great for chatting with friends. Our drinks were brought out pretty fast too. Super nice place!

The cinnamon rolls are worth it, and this latest trip had me going for a yuzu lemon meringue bar, which struck the perfect balance of not too sweet, but also not a bland flavorless hellscape, which a lot of "not too sweet" dessert can fall into. Rather tempted to make the trip and get one again before they go away for the year. The egg has what looks like scallions and spices overall a really good sandwich for $9. Their coconut Ube milk bun was outstanding really enjoyed the coconut filling in the middle. The chili crisp scone was good but would have liked to taste more of the chili crisp. My wife tried their Champaign tea which she liked but did not blow her away. That said my wife is quite the tea connoisseur so it takes a little more to impress her when it comes to tea. All n all a great little spot will definitely come back again to try more of their baked goods. According to staff their coffee is what people really come here for, along with the baked goods.

The main thing Drip House has going for it is that it is effectively the only coffee spot to sit and study or meet someone right by the stadium (where a bunch of us live and/or work). It is also open into the early evening when a lot of other coffee spots aren't. And we do love an outside seating option. The service has always been just fine and it's a pretty cute spot (not to sound ridiculously nit-picky but while we're here--someone might wanna sheer some of the many dead leaves off the beautiful plant inside though). Also, the banana oat latte they had as a special a couple months ago was delicious. So yummy. Some things I don't love about Drip House: the blue chairs. So uncomfortable. It is expensive and, dare I say, overpriced. The first time I got my $14 piece of ricotta toast, it was delicious. And I figured, fine. It's $14 for a piece of bread with a little cheese and jam but it's so yummy, I'll splurge every once in a while and go with it. Plus, I can't eat tree nuts, so it is one of the few options for me. However, the second time I got it, it was most definitely not worth it. The "whipped" ricotta was just a sad, thin wet layer and there was practically no jam. I get it. It's expensive out here. We're living in the shadows of the avocado toast economy where espresso drinks cost minimum $7 and you effectively can't buy anything for less than $4. But just because you feel like you *can* doesn't mean you *should.* Paying $14 for a piece of bread.... Come on. It's insulting. It feels exploitative. Will i be going back? Yes, because of the proximity and sometimes a girl needs to go for a cute little walk to get a coffee--just to feel something. Would I if there was a competing coffee shop nearby? That remains to be seen. Also the size of the "large" iced drink. Come on guys.

Nate and I frequent them while we're in A2 and recently visited this location for the first time. It's located in a strip mall and is connected to the Westgate branch of Ann Arbor District Library. The employee taking our order was super patient and friendly! I got a large oat milk latte and a croissant breakfast sandwich, and Nate got an Earl Grey tea with a pretzel bun breakfast sandwich. Our food and drinks came out in a timely manner and they asked our name for the order (bonus for this, #iykyk). The shop is interesting because the library doesn't actually open until 10 am, but there is seating available for the coffee shop and people were walking around/browsing the library for at least an hour before they opened. I've never seen such a set up but it seems to work for them! I really liked the latte - it was smooth and creamy, and the sandwich was flaky and savory. They have a great rewards program and overall I really like this chain. Parking is quite easy compared to some of the other Sweetwaters locations, which is nice!
