This place is a complete unrepentant tourist trap. Prices are insane for mediocre food. Staff is hit and miss on whether they are super polite of hating the entire world. They don't bother to update the food options on the website, so you will not know what your options are until you get here and pay 45.00 for two single entree food truck Chinese meals-before drinks. True view is nice, but probably not as good as you think it will be. Skip this place and go eat somewhere good for the same price or less. It's sort of a microcosm for Port A in general. I've been wanting to check out Sip Yard for a while, and tonight we finally made it over. First off, they have accessible parking and getting inside was easy, which is always appreciated. Once inside, I noticed sidewalks along the perimeter for my wheelchair, bonus points for that. Unfortunately, the sidewalks leading to the ordering area were completely blocked by giant advertising sandwich boards. Obstacle course aside, the bartender was friendly and incredibly kind, even offered us koozies and blankets, which was a big win since it was pretty chilly out. The setup is fun and casual with cheerful Christmas lighting. Near the bar there are TV's and standard-height tables on a large concrete area. There was a nice little crowd and every one of the tables on the patio were taken. Beyond that is more gravel with Adirondack chairs, a big raised stage, and picnic tables on the other side. I really enjoyed the live country band and would have loved to stay, but it was too cold. Adding some patio heaters would make it easier to stay longer in the winter. Overall, Sip Yard is a really fun venue with a side of adventure. I'll give 5 stars and will definitely be back, hopefully with a couple fewer hurdles and better weather next time. read more

Sip Yard is a great place to hangout and listen to music. The bartenders have always been super efficient and pleasant, but the last 2 times i've gone i've had an awful experience with the lady taking the cover at the door. She was very rude, kept yelling and honestly ruins the experience coming in. People come to have a good time and listen to music with family and friends, but to be greeted with an attitude and just an ugly personality is not welcoming. She should not be the first person you want people seeing when walking into the establishment. She needs to be put behind the scenes because she is awful with people. She was the door person when I came July 18 and again August 8th. Other than this one employee, it's a fun time. read more

The drinks were good. It was a very hot day. No inside place to cool off but we knew that when we went to visit so that was on us. The WOK was absolutely disgusting. Chicken was very dry, noodles just soaked in a salty terryiaki and no vegetables like cabbage or anything. Just dry unseasoned chicken and a mess of noodles. Mixed feelings about the Sip Yard. I was here as a guest of the ARK. A none profit partner operating out of University of Texas Marine Science Institute . They rehab sea turtles and birds of prey found debilitated in the area. Fund raising has resulted in a significant addition to facilities designed to accomplish their goals. We celebrated on the top floor of the Sip Yard with food and drink. The owner was present giving a good idea of the Sip Yards mission and management style. They can facilitate large gatherings like ours as well as catering and the two floors below of music,tv,games and live music. Personally I don't like places like this in a small island town. But,you can't fight progress and this type of development. I encourage other local places before you give Sip Yards a try. read more

What a great place to enjoy some live music, a cold beer (or whatever you like), watch a college football game or just hang out with the family! The ground level has food trucks (several with a great variety of foods) we had tacos from Vide Tacos! Really good! The first floor is adults only with a nice bar and the best bartenders. We visited the "Sip Yard " to enjoy some music and some beer and food from their food court Sunday . We enjoyed some beer and the good service from the downstairs bar . We also ordered food from the Bayou Bistro restaurant there and were extremely disappointed with 2 orders of the Fisherman platter ($23) . The oysters (3 per order ) were terrible. They were deep fried and cold and mushy inside . They tasted like they were bad . We ended up tossing them in the garbage. I think they weee probably frozen and then tossed into the hot oil . The French fries were barely warm and soggy too . Maybe. Hope they get it together. read more

This is our go to stop for the second year in a row. Perfect place to take your dog with you, and see lots of cute dogs. The second floor is 21+ drinks only, the ground is family friendly food and drinks and a bar. There's a third floor as well with (uncovered) seating. We love this because everyone in the family can find something with so many options. Plenty of gluten free options. Pizza is amazing, Asian food is a brief menu and it's all good, Mexican food is all amazing as well. Skip the sea food/Cajun window, unless you want some good fries and plain hot dog. The other food wasn't our favorite from that window. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and y'all, the bathrooms are 11/10 good. Always clean, always crisp A/C. read more

When we arrived at 10 pm I asked the lady how much longer the band(s) would be playing and she said until midnight. There was a $10 cover charge per person so that's why I was asking and I figured since we had 2 hours I would pay the cover charge. By the time we got our drinks and we settled in the band announced their last song. I went back to the front to talk to the ladies about what happened and they seemed indifferent. I would not have bothered going if I knew the band was almost done. Very disappointed with how the two ladies handled that situation. I will say, the band did 2 encore songs and the drink I had was really good. It is a cool vibe there and it's a clerestory concept. Add some large yard games for the kids and you have a family friendly environment. read more

Port A has been my getaway destination for over 2 decades and we feel that the Sip Yard is a great addition. The bar service and ambiance were perfect. Wok on was also great. Bayou Bistro on the other hand was not. The so called "catfish" basket was not so great. The fish had a really foul taste and their burger was not so bueno either. We will definitely be back just not for the bayou. read more

We went on Monday and they didn't have any food available at that time, but someone (who I assume is the owner) told us to come back Thursday for more options. She was very nice and remembered us when we returned! We came back around 2-3 on Thursday and tried Wok On and it was good! Fast food, even though he said he makes it all to order. We got beef with broccoli, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, and teriyaki chicken. All with chow mien. The order of "good-ness" was teriyaki chicken, Mongolian beef, beef with broccoli, and in last place is orange chicken. The chow mien was good, but a bit salty for our taste. When I went to pay, the tip options were 24, 26, and 28%!! Outrageous defaults for self service, in my opinion. Knocked it down to 10% and called it a day. The bartender options should be that high because she was awesome and checked on us multiple times at our table!! We ordered several drinks, including a frozen marg, white wine, and red bull vodka. The frozen marg was okay...not our favorite. Everything else was great! Loved the atmosphere. The restrooms were absolutely phenomenal. Clean and cold! We were really looking forward to checking out the Sip Yard. It seemed like a great addition to Port A--something the area could really use--so we were excited to stop in for dinner and drinks. Unfortunately, our excitement quickly turned into disappointment. As we arrived and attempted to walk in, we were met with a $30 cover charge. Seriously? A $30 fee just to get in the door, so we could then spend more money on food and drinks? That's not a cover for a concert or a special event--it's essentially paying for the privilege to spend more. We've been visiting Port Aransas for many years and will definitely continue to do so, but this experience left a bad taste. A $30 cover for entry is not just surprising--it feels excessive and frankly a bit insulting. At this point, I'm not sure if I'll be returning to the Sip Yard, which is a shame because we were genuinely excited to support a new local spot. read more

The facility was so clean and the food variety was great. I really enjoyed the view from the top floor and thought the layout of the seating, play area, stage and all was well planned out. Food is horrible, service was horrible(couldn't communicate with employee as she spoke little English) and she was super rude!! My lid flew off and I asked for other lid and she said not my problem!!
