We stopped at Hu Dat Noodle House on our way home from SA. This Vietnamese restaurant was clean and we were welcomed right away. I had the appetizer sized beef pho and my husband had the vermicelli noodles with beef. (I have never heard of an appetizer-sized bowl of pho, but it was the perfect size!!!) His dish also came with two shrimp, chopped peanuts, cilantro, and a fried egg roll. Before the meal we shared a chicken lettuce wrap appetizer. We were only able to eat 1/2 of it. The waitress brought us more lettuce and we took it home for dinner later. It was all soooooo good!!!! The wait staffed treated us really well and they were super accommodating. All of this for about $33. Sorry I didn't include any pictures, but it was all so good that we ate it before I thought to take a picture. You should definitely come by Hu Dat Noodle House for lunch or dinner. Mmmmmm read more

I don't know how this HuDat and the one in Rockport are so far apart but they are. Nothing we ordered was fresh it literally tasted like they bought frozen bags of Chinese food from heb and warmed them up for us. The HuDat in rockport is so much better. read more

This place was the worst. It gave my wife and I food poisening. It was not the one stop kind of food poisening. We are talking violent vomiting for 24 hours now. I looked at the menu ahead of time and there was a good number of "vegetarian" options. In particular, I wanted to try the Pho Xao Tofu (wok-fried rice noodles). When I arrived, a very friendly person greeted me. I asked her if the Pho Xao Tofu was vegan and she said it wasn't because it had beef broth. (Maybe it should be removed from being vegetarian?) She answered all my questions and I ordered the Delightful Noodles (bean thread noodles). She entered the item so it would be completely vegan but warned me it would not be very tasty. This has happened at another Asian restaurant before because they don't carry vegan oyster sauce and other items. She told me she didn't have enough vegan customers to have vegan items. I appreciate her patience and help. The food was just okay. I may try it again next year in the hopes there are more vegan options. :) read more

Our dinner party of four adults decided to try this CC installment of Dat Nguyen's family restaurants (the original is in Fulton). We walked in and were immediately seated and given menus. This is a pho/bun/noodle establishment with a lean towards Vietnamese food. They have a few Chinese selections and sushi on some nights, but the majority of the offerings are noodle or soup based. We ordered two orders of eggrolls as an appetizer, they arrived hot and full of meat, delicious! Unfortunately our food went downhill from there. We ordered egg drop soup, spinach with chicken over rice, Bun Ga (cold vermicelli noodles with dark meat chicken and shrimp), Lo Mein with beef and edamame to snack on. The egg drop soup wasn't very hot and had a rancid, old smell like it had been sitting all day. The dark meat chicken in the Bun Ga bowl was cold and so tough we could not chew or cut it. The spinach and chicken over rice was ok, but very bland. The Lo Mein was fine but strangely cold and bland. We munched on the eggrolls and edamame to make up for the other entrees' shortcomings. Service was efficient and friendly, mainly teens doing the serving. The restaurant is very clean and quite dark. There's an adjoining bar ("d Lounge") that had a huge party of classic car enthusiasts in it, quite loud at times. Total for four entrees, three appetizers, three teas and one soda was $88.45 including tip. read more

The veggies are crisp and fresh and I put a lot of fish sauce on mine. Had the General J's tofu with brown rice. The tofu was deliciously crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Just a slight hint of spice with the sauce. Delicious food. We went last night for dinner and the food was good and our waitress was great! I am giving it one star because of the way the owner/manager was acting. It was bizarre and such a turnoff. They started getting really busy and she was literally power walking around the restaurant talking very loud and doing nothing but getting in the way. She walked by our table, asked us a question, and before we could answer she was talking to another table. All very loudly. Then she screamed at an employee. It was so loud, it was startling. Needless to say, we will never go back. We won't support someone who is demeaning and rude to employees. That lady really needs to get it together. read more

We love Vietnamese food and I wanted to try their pho ga. It was ok. There were plenty of noodles and chicken, but the broth was pretty bland and they didn't provide all the veggie add-ins like I've gotten at other places. They gave me about a tablespoon of cilantro, 1 slice of jalapeño, and about 10 bean sprouts. I'm used to getting way more plus Thai basil and lime. I also ordered a large and they brought me a small. I had to spice things up with some Sriacha, which I've never had to do to my pho in the past. We let the size slide because my fiancé ordered the create-your-own bun with just chicken, but they brought him the combo with chicken, shrimp, and egg rolls. It was good. Kids meals were ok, but none of them come with a vegetable, which is odd. The fried rice looked more like brown rice to me - no veggies or egg in it. Maybe they got that wrong too? The Vietnamese egg rolls were just ok, but I've had better elsewhere too. These should be deep fried to an extra crispy goodness and they usually come sliced up with lettuce, julienned carrots, and cilantro for wrapping them up in, but these didn't. Just regular egg rolls. We come to Corpus a lot, but we'll save the Pho for when we're home in San Antonio. Pho Cong (Taste of Asia) is still the best around! read more

Great prices. Nicer decor than other Hu Dat locations. Service was swell. Portions are not as generous as the Ingleside location on rice dishes and the fried rice with my chargrilled beef com was stale & cold. Beef was fantastic. Overall, I prefer the portion sizes at other locations (I like to have a bit of leftover rice for my late evening meal) and prefer my rice more recently fried. read more

Food is good! Chicken pho And shrimp spring rolls are delicious. However the beef pho, not my favorite. I am used to the meat being raw and the broth cooking it. I am Also used to getting fresh basil, cilantro and sprouts but they aren't super fresh and you have to request. The inside is nice and clean and lots of people where which is a good thing. I appreciated the effort. It's probably hard to run a successful pho shop in an area where there aren't many Asians. I ordered the meatball & rare steak pho and a side of spare ribs. Both were yummy! Some suggestions: adding chili oil to the condiment selection and offering greens (mint and Viet veggie) along with the bean sprouts. Also, the steak wasn't rare--it was fully cooked. (Might be due to the preference of their regular customer base.) The staff are all helpful, nice, and really attentive and quick to clear any trash from my table. read more

If craving asian food and can't really find anyplace else....didn't actually go to the noodle house - went to the sushi lounge attached - can't really say I was impressed with the sushi, would give it 2 stars, but what made it earn the 3rd star with the squid salad. This place is pretty good. Prices are alright, the atmosphere is nice. My only complaints which could be considered more like opinions; there wasnt enough shrimp in my large pho tom and I'd prefer my shrimp to be de-tailed. They could have given more sprouts to add to the soup. Also the chicken in my child's pho was bland. Other than that it was a nice little lunch. Will be returning to try other items. read more

It's like Russian Roulette here with the service, hit n miss. Sometimes it's groovy, sometimes it's poopy. Food is usually always delish, sometimes a bit salty depending on what you order. We've been there when it appears they literally have 1 server, poopy service day; especially when there are 6/7 tables n 2 busboy persons (assumption) cuz they just fill water n clean tables. We attend often due to good food, we hope you find it on a good service day. Price is descent compared to some others in area, pretty comparable. If you order sushi there, be prepared for a 45 minute delay, sometimes. read more
