Service is always wonderful at Sisig LA. There's no question about that. The employees are always standing at attention and eager to please. They are lovely. However, I'm so disappointed to see and taste their rendition of pork sisig. Traditionally, it's supposed to contain small bits of meat and maybe some fat for flavouring. To my shock, when I was handed the pork sisig, it was filled with nothing but fat bits. My husband and I rooted around with a fork to separate the fat and onions and there was barely a smidgeon of actual meat. What made it worse was that when I spooned a portion to serve my husband, I saw underneath a large pool of liquid fat. It's well concealed under the chicharon. We both lost our appetite. Very disappointing. The sisig tacos were much better. At least there was some meat there. But not a lot. I had had these tacos previously so I was confused as to why the ratio of fat bits to meat changed so drastically. I'm sure the economy affected management's decision to limit the amount of meat. But guys, please don't put just fat in there. We're parting with our hard-earned money and want to be fed actual food - not the cheapest parts of the pig. I hope this can be rectified because I love supporting small businesses. I'll visit again in a few more months. Hopefully some improvements can be made. I want this eatery to do well.

Great addition to Haven City! It is located near the GW Market, so it can be missed if you don't walk up that way. + I always have great service there + They have a weekday lunch special that I like to get + Sisig is very good and flavorful + They have a good sized menu

Came here on New Year's Eve & ordering was simple just through the kiosk Ordered 12 lumpias ($11) & the texture is amazing. It's so airy & crunchy but I would say the flavor of the filling is a little light.

I've dined at SisigLA many times since their grand opening. Their location is near the connecting pathway to the GW market. The service and staff here are always so friendly and hospitable. You can order on the kiosk or at the counter with the staff. They're plenty of large tables in this area and they have a sisig bar area to dine on their counter top. The taste of their sisig is very unique. I've tried the Sisig Tacos, the Sisig Baos and the Sisig Fried Rice. All of these menu items are extremely delicious. Since it's fusion items the Sisig is not flavored in the traditional manner. There's a sweetness and tang to it. For me, the flavors stands out and that's what makes them so unique. My go to order is the Sisig Baos. The softness of the Bao stuffed with their Sisig is tremendous and never disappoints. I always leave happy. Come by to Haven City West Covina and try some great Filipino fusion food! :]

    Devoured Sisig!

If you're looking for authentic Sisig! The way is should be made. The closest you can have thousands of miles from the Philippines! The real sizzling Sisig from the Philippines! This is the spot! Sisig Is bomb dot com!!! They're traditionally served on a hot cast-iron plate, sisig is a savory mix of finely chopped pork, often including crispy pork belly, cheeks, and ear, fried until perfectly caramelized. The meat is then tossed with tangy calamansi juice, onions, and chili peppers, creating a bright, zesty contrast to the rich pork. It has the right balance of textures and flavors: crispy edges, juicy bites, smoky char, and a punch of citrus acidity. Absolutely yummmy! Service: This is the best and friendliest you will get in a fastfood place. Always serves us with a smile and a quick chat. Additionally: We come here every two or three weeks after our bowling league. To feed that crave! Also ordered the full tray for a potluck. (Worth it!) they will give you instructions on how to reheat. If you're looking for healthy, and less onion-y, Less oily, less fatty, less tasty, then go else where rather than posting a review and saying it's too fatty or onion-y. But if you're looking for the closest Sisig you can get in LA or perhaps the whole US, this is the spot! Sorry for the pic. Too hungry. Forgot to take a pic before we devoured it.

I devoured the Sisig Pasta ($14.99). It's fresh pasta, tender pork sisig, olive oil, garlic, and various Italian herbs and spices. This glossy, oily pasta drips with garlic and juices of pork sisig. Its pork sisig is lightly tang and savory while resembling a tender, thicker form of bacon. Cascading down its bouncy & fresh noodles, the Sisig Pasta offers a pleasurable, drenched, juicy experience. I arrived at SisigLA (West Covina) on Wednesday (around 6:48PM). It's located within the Haven City Market. This evening, parking was plentiful. SisigLA (West Covina) is somewhat hidden within Haven City Market. It's located in a corner near the grocery side. Fortunately, SisigLA (West Covina) is very eye-catching and easy to spot. Its blue wall is vibrant & bright, and its booth & sign glows attractively. Staff is very welcoming, helpful, and professional. The ordering process felt very comfortable. Customers can order at the counter or self-service kiosk. Staff answered all my questions, and staff provided insightful recommendations. After ordering, staff hands an electronic pager that alerts the customer when their food is ready. I ordered the Sisig Pasta ($14.99). The food took 20 minutes and 34 seconds. I was pleasantly surprised by the time since staff had previously mentioned that this pasta usually takes 25 minutes to prepare. As mentioned previously, I happily enjoyed the Sisig Pasta. The dish was not salty nor vinegary. Rather, this dish tasted savory, oily, and thick with a lingering, addictive garlic flavor. If I were to think of Italian food, I'd compare this pasta's texture and sauce to a fresh order of Linguine with Clams; however, instead of clams, it's the taste of pork sisig/bacon. To my immense joy, this pasta dish was freshly cooked and thoughtfully crafted with quality ingredients. It's a sincere, well-composed, large dish. Regarding ambiance, SisigLA (West Covina) is welcoming, clean, and comfortable. It's located at Haven City Market, so it feels safe with security guards. It's also surrounded with many other delicious food booths. Although SisigLa (West Covina) has a corner booth, customers are welcomed to walk around and sit anywhere. There's plenty of seating located indoor and outdoor. This evening, I listened to the smooth jazz music that flowed from the speakers. Overall, SisigLa (West Covina) genuinely impressed me. It's not a tourist trap; rather, it's a beautiful, welcoming location that serves quality food and large portions. I am eager to reorder the Sisig Pasta ($14.99). I left happy and full. 4.8 out of 5

I still dream of the sisig fried rice. It was the first time we tried Sisig LA and it didn't disappoint. To be fair, we only had the sisig fried rice this visit but what a good first impression. Well balanced ratio of sisig and rice, egg was cooked to perfection, and the chicharon topper was a good cherry on top. Chef's kiss. Will definitely come back!!

There Sisig Bao is the best! Also try their Sisig Fried Rice and Tacos. Ambiance is great too.

I got this one day to try, and I enjoyed it! I got the sigsig fried rice, it came with a salad. I wish they came in a separate box, but it came in the same box with the fried rice. So I'd recommend to eat that first if you don't like a warm salad. Or you can eat together with the fried rice. I could see it be a nice balance with the rice. The rice came out piping hot. Egg was cooked perfectly to pair with the fried rice. And it had a ton of flavor. I would come back again to try the sigsig with noodles since I prefer noodles. I just got the fried rice because I thought it would be easier to feed my son. Haha. My husband got the leftovers and he really enjoyed it even after it sat for a while from eating at haven city market and on the ride home.

Couple of days ago, a friend of mine wanted to try the Philippine BBQ called the "Taste of the Pacific here at the Haven City Market. Sadly, we found out that the restaurant was permanently closed. As we were walking around, we found the hidden Philippine pop-up restaurant closer to GW Supermarket, but still in the food court area. This cool shop was opened about a month ago. I started eating less pork or none at all. I didn't realize that the majority of the menu here are all Pork and Fish. You can order via cashier or use their Kiosk. We chose the cashier. Ordered: Peach Calamansi Juice 3 C-Sig Tacos - It comes with Pork Sisig, Pork, Pork Rinds, Cilantros, Onions and special Sauce served in sweet buns. My friend absolutely loved the tacos. She said it was absolutely authentic, flavorful and delicious. It was absolutely generous fillings. She says it is very hard to make it at home. She is definitely bringing her whole family at another time. As for me, I only took a tiny bite. It was bit too salty for me but if you eat it with the sweet bun, it will taste just right. Sadly, I didn't realize what I ate until I saw the recipe off the internet. Hahah. I don't think I'll ever eat this popular authentic dish again. If you are Sisig lover, come check this restaurant. Service was fantastic. Friendly staff. Ambiance is nice.

I always get the sisig baos and it is consistently delicious. Located unside the haven market, it is tucked away in the corner (grocery side). There is a bit of a wait but is worth it. Price is on point for the portions. I look forward to trying the other menu items.

Best sisig in LA!!! The closest to the Philippines sisig!!! 10/10!! Da best!!! I wish they had more branches in OC!! More power to you!! Service was quick!! Location and ambiance is classic!!

Got the sisig baos and they were decent. The meat was pretty good and the bao was good but I wasn't in love with the sauce. They had pretty fast service, not a long wait time. It's situated in haven city but closer to the grocery side. It's great that you can sit on shared communal tables and people can get whatever they want!

We ordered the tipid package (included large pata, kare kare without oxtail, an appetizer, rice, and your choice of pancit bihon or pancit canton) and kenchi steak. We got lumpiang Shanghai (mini egg rolls with ground pork and shrimp) and a mix of bihon and canton. Most items serve three to four people, so come with a hungry party and prepare to take leftovers home. The crispy pata (a deep-fried pork knuckle) had a lot of flavorful and juicy meat. While this dish is inherently fatty, there is still meat to cut off. The kare kare (beef chunks, tripe, and vegetables with a braised peanut gravy) tasted good. The rich flavor was also influenced by vegetables, such as eggplants and long beans. Some of the beef chunks were a little fatty. The lumpiang Shanghai arrived late into our lunch because we had to follow up with our server. While they currently charge $23 just for this appetizer, the portion size was much too small. It seems that with this specific package, you'd get a smaller appetizer portion. The bihon (thin rice noodles) and canton (thick egg noodles) pancit mix tasted adequate, and we had no complaints. I enjoyed the kenchi steak the most. This dish is beef shin topped with bone marrow served on a sizzling plate with gravy and vegetables. The beef had a thick texture, and the potatoes tasted soft and lovely. It was filling and noticeably better than the items in the tipid package in my opinion. Lastly, even though we visited around noon, they unfortunately didn't have halo-halo (a Filipino milky shaved ice with fruits and preserves) available as a dessert. At the end of the day, this is a solid restaurant with large portions and well-seasoned flavors. I definitely see why it's a family favorite for many.

I arrived at Almuchow (West Covina) on Sunday (around 3:16PM). Parking is easy. The lot is big. Surprisingly, Almuchow (West Covina) had taken over the old location of Bistro Filipino. Almuchow (West Covina) had relocated to this new spot in late December. Staff is very professional, welcoming and friendly. Staff works hard. I observed how Staff worked nonstop throughout my visit. My food took 14 minutes and five seconds. Good time! As mentioned, the Longsilog ($15) and Pansit Mix ($16) appears beautiful. Although it lacks the usual saltiness & oiliness of traditional Filipino food, it felt health conscious with comforting textures. The ingredients tasted clean. The Longsilog's sausage had the familiar sweetness of the Longanisa, but it felt more comparable to a meatball/meatloaf version. The Pansit also had the wetness and length of the usual dish, but it tasted muted. Still, the food felt well-intentioned and filling. Regarding ambiance, Almuchow (West Covina) is spacious, clean, and welcoming. I appreciated how Filipino music played on its speakers. The flat screen TVs even showed filipino musicians. There's also plenty of tables and a gender neutral restroom. Overall, I had a good experience at Almuchow (West Covina). When the orders came, the rice was so little, what they said was good for 2 people is actually only good for one. We asked for ice. They said they had none. not a big deal but honestly ice is a very important thing to have. There were no condiments on the table (patis , toyo, suka) etc which is common place in Filipino eateries. Around 6:30 we were being asked to finish our meal because they were "closing". Did they forget we ordered a bunch of stuff. If they are worried about their closing time, rhen please dont accept people an hour and a half before closing as you guys kmow Filipino food is not burgers and fries . You eat w little bit of everything slowly , its a cultural thing. We were again told two more times to hurry eating as they were closing. I was so shocked i coulf barely believe this kind of treatment. As a former caterer and hotel manager, we have never kicked anyone out of any establishment when they are still eating. You shut the door, you stop taking in customers but you always let the people still eating inside finish their meal, even if you had to stay behind for a bit. Another reason i took my best friend to dine rhere is because we were both so hungry and we dont do any cooking in our homes. My best friend paid for the meal --almost $150 , we decided against leaving a tip because the service was poor. The people working in the front had a less than acceptable demeanor, rushing us out of there we couldnt even finish eating. All in all, i felt embarassed in front of my best friend who treated me to the meal, when i had done nothing but brag about this place and their food non stop. I wpuld have loved to have had a conversation wirh Ms Nova Mendoza herself in person to compliment her on the amazing food but also to tell her that the staff needed further training im hospitality, customer care, and soft skills , it is their behavior and conduct which will bring this restaurant down. Please dont chase people out when they are eating. That was so poorly done.

Now the kalderetang kambing had a strange fishy (gamey) smell in the car. When I tried it at home, the meat looked so red and tasted way too sweet, not at all like the Kalderetas I'm used to back home. The meat was falling off the bone soft though. This is my problem with Filipino restaurants in the US - if they can't make dishes better tasting than what I make at home (i rarely cook but im a good eater), I cannot rate them high at all. I've eaten too much Filipino food in my life to know what tastes good. I feel bad because the folks who work here/(owners?) are pretty nice and they were working on Valentines. But the current rating they have is misleading. If you're going for the big entrees like I did, and are used to Gerry's Grill type sisig, prepare to be disappointed. Yelp, you did not come thru for me this time.

We were disappointed that they didn't have any chicken isaw available that day, but the rest of the food was great. Here's how it works - you place your chosen skewers on a tray and hand them over for grilling. They came out perfectly charred and so tasty that, of course, we had to order rice to go with them. I also loved the palamig served in those classic street-vendor-style containers, which is super nostalgic of the Philippines. I went with the melon flavor, and it was just right and not too sweet. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

During our visit, we ordered a variety of dishes including pig ears, intestines, pork barbecue, fried bukaklak (which is fried intestines), fish balls, kwek kwek (egg wrapped in an orange-flavored batter and deep-fried), and pancit canton. I would like to share some detailed feedback about our experience. The place is decent - clean and well-kept, and the servers were very nice two kinds of sauces: vinegar and the sweet brown traditional fish ball sauce, enjoyed the pork barbecue and fried intestines; however, I found that the portions were somewhat small relative to the price. Regarding the pig ears and intestines, there was an unusual aftertaste that made me unsure if these items were not as fresh as they should be. The pancit canton was average - it was okay but not something I would order again. The cantaloupe juice was also a bit too sweet for my taste. About halfway through the meal, we realized one item was missing from our order. Though it was promptly brought out after we mentioned ii I'm not sure if it's just sitting in the kitchen and it's not even busy. My experience with LA location is way different , I find the food there to be significantly better in taste and overall quality. I am not sure why this disparity exists, but I thought it important to provide this honest comparison.
