Warm welcome SMILE by Juju & being our waitress. Only thing I did not like was we wanted to sit at a bigger table, she inform my son that sits 8. We look around no one but us. When we were about to leave. Hardly busy. Just one couple & 1 man for to-go order. Presentation of the dishes look OK. But when we taste totally different. Not the same like before, we usually finish EVERYTHING! Ribs & chicken not tender. Egg Rolls wrapper tastes old. Calamari batter was huge but calamari was small. Had to skin off batter to much grease. Our favorite sweet dipping sauce, taste like store bought. And my family and I finished everything. No left over, this time a BIG TURN Off:( Not Coming Back And usually Lunch time is busy here. NOPE! Ladies restroom was remodeled. Sad thing to see soap bottle empty. DANGEROUS: (

First, this place has been here for YEARS, which is a testiment of their good food. All of the dishes we've tried all the times we've gone has been amazing. Our favorites are S1 (Bbq chicken plate served with shrimp fried rice and a sweet sauce for dipping,) and the beef satay which is served with a peanut sauce. The portions are big and the flavor is consistently the same... delicious. Oop, cant forget about their shrimp tom kha soup... mmmm. The interior looks a bit dated, but the food quality makes up for it. Service was also quick and friendly. This place is located in a shared plaza with a grocery store and many more restaurants. Plenty of parking.

I've lived in the area for 30 years. however just discovered this Gem nearby. I was not feeling well stomach wise, craving a good soup. came across this Thai food , decided to visit. I am so happy I did. nice cozy, clean restaurant. wonderful staff, and a pretty great menu. I ordered the combination soup with chicken and shrimp and a side of rice, small cucumber cup. It was perfect !!! they actually sit the pot on your table. and you serve it nice and hot, stays hot throughout your meal. very tasteful and they are very generous with the portion. I was able to take leftover bowl for later. I love this place!! highly recommended. I can't wait to try other things on their cast menu.

We come here often! We usually get the same thing every time and flavor is consistent every time. We highly recommend the Chicken BBQ, Short Ribs Pork BBQ, and the Beef Salad. Service is fast. Ambiance is quiet and calm. No rush.

Thai BBQ never fails! I have eaten inside this place a few times, but most of my experiences come from ordering to-go. We usually order from here on special occasions (Mostly Birthdays and some anniversaries). Service is always quick, unless it's a busy time. The ambience is 90% of the time quiet. The portion sizes of the food is A LOT, LoL! I have never been hungry after eating Thai BBQ and Seafood. The orange rice (pictured) always hits! My usual order is: - Thai BBQ Chicken Dinner (Pictured) - Honey Duck Dinner - Thai BBQ Spare Ribs (Fall off the bone) - Sa-Te Dinner (Pictured) - Green Garden - Phad Thai - Thai Tea I have been coming to Thai BBQ since I was a kid, always delicious, always fresh. I hope more people come here and enjoy this as much as I do. If you're looking for a lunch spot or just want to grab some dinner, I highly recommend Thai BBQ and Seafood. If you like it, hey, you're welcome!, if you don't, then hey sorry, but everyone has their own opinions and palate, but for me, this place is still bomb AF after all these years.

A West Covina staple! I've been going here with my family for several years now and I never get disappointed with the food nor the service. This time, I decided to show my partner what good Thai food was and we stopped by for a quick lunch! The restaurant was relatively empty but it had just opened so we got seated immediately. The waiter took our orders and the food came within 17 minutes of ordering. The Tom Kha soup came first and it was piping hot! Super milky and a bit sour, just the way I remembered it! The pad see ew was delectable as well, with the noodles having a perfect mix of sweet and salty. My favorite, the Thai bbq spare ribs that I always ask for a little more well done came out exactly as I asked for it and was tender and full of flavor, pairing nicely with the sweet honey sauce they usually give with the ribs. I'll never stop recommending people to this establishment and though I usually get the same thing here every time, I always get surprised on just how good the food is and how satisfying I feel after eating here. Definitely give this place a chance if you want delicious food!

Love the food here. Haven't been here in awhile so I got the dearest crab and my friend got the A1. We shared the food and it was a lot. Service was great and accommodating. The fish tank in The back was a saltwater setup so that was nice to see

What happen to my order? The chicken are burn and dry. Looks like last night leftover. I should have open and inspected my order before leaving the restsurant. Will never go back.

    5. Pad See Ew, Thai BBQ Spare Ribs, Tom Kha Soup
    Anissa M.

Been here a couple times, forgot to post a review. Service is always extremely quick and hospitable. Pad See Ew and the Thai BBQ Spare Ribs are our go-to! I also like getting Tom Kha during the winter when the weather starts getting chilly. This time around the Tom Kha didn't have as much coconut milk & lemongrass as I preferred. I may just stick to my go-tos moving forward. :)

Sigh... I think I only come back here for the nostalgic memories. It's not really for the food anymore. Either it's bc I've had way better Thai food or the quality has just gone down. Sure it's more on the inexpensive side and there's quite a bit of selection but idk.. it wasn't good this last time I ordered from here. Our go to is S1- Kai yang bbq chicken dinner, pad see ew and pad Thai. The chicken breast and thigh were both undercooked, still felt spongy and pink inside. Pad Thai was clumped together, barely any bean sprouts or tofu and very bland. The pad see ew was the only dish that was palatable. Sadly I don't think we'll be back, but hey thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Delicious fried rice, but the service could have been better.

Came here last week with a friend. It wasn't the best experience I've had coming here. The wait took a while for the food to come out and none of the servers really tried to check in with us for an update on it. As soon as the food was ready, it got to the wrong table. It's common for any server to make these types of mistakes especially since I've been a server once myself. But when the server fixed the mistake, there was no apology issued to us customers. The place itself was clean for the most part, but the service this time wasn't great. As for the food, not bad.

Is this place closed down for good ? I called several times and the recording says " This number is longer in service" 😔 Too bad. I miss the Thai chicken barbeque.

We were there a couple of months ago. Message says mailbox full, but not disconnected.

Is this place open? I've called several times and no answer.

Yes! They're usually pretty busy, which is why they don't often answer. As long as it's within their working hours, you can always order in-person. They're quick to prepare the food.

Is this place closed already? We have been trying to call to order but there's no answer or voicemail.

They are still open and still extremely busy . If you get the voicemail means just try again .. I had to dial 3 times at one point and connected with the cashier/order taker....

Do they still have a grade C?

As of 1/23/2019 they have an A!! Just received it from the Health Department as I picked up an order today.

I keep calling and the phone is busy for the past two days...are they closed? It's December 21 around lunchtime.

They got shutdown by the Health department on DECEMBER 13, 2017 for Cockroach infestation and Flies. They Closed with a Grade of "C" (77).

    Did they place shut down?

Not that I know, I was there last month. I hope not, I've been a loyal customer since the 80's.

We got southern curry noodles, flaming drunken noodle at extra spicy, and Che Po. The curry noodles were good we got the flat noodles. Though my wife likes it more savory I like it more coconutty. The che po was okay, the rice was steeped in the sauce which was too much for my wife and some of the pork belly pieces were tough. The bbq pork and the duck was good though. Authentic Thai and Chinese fusion taste. The star of the show was the flaming drunken noodle. It's probably one of the best drunken noodles we've had. At extra spicy, it definitely brought the flame and the foavor in a big way. The portions and prices were great. We had to togo the drunken noodle and it got even better after we reheated it. -service was very friendly and quick -the restaurant is a good size, great for large parties. Negatives: None 5/5 overall We will definitely be back, we already have our eye on trying the pad Thai and the tom yum noodles. My wife wants to bring the spice down, but i want the smoke I want that extra spicy level again lol

Has this place gone through new ownership?…read more I used to frequent Tantawan Thai Cuisine at least once a week -- it was my go to Thai spots because it's nearby. I would always order the Thai boat noodles, Pad Kee Mao, or Pad Thai, and they were consistently flavorful, bold, and satisfying every time. These three dishes were on constant rotation. Lately though, something feels very different. The flavor and overall taste of the dishes have noticeably changed. The Thai boat noodles no longer have that rich, deep broth, the pad kee mao isn't as smoky and punchy, and the pad thai tastes flatter and not as saucey than it used to. The food just doesn't hit the same. On top of that, the employees were clearly new. Service has been noticeably slower, and they repeatedly ask the same questions multiple times when I phone in my order. I've always mentioned that I don't want liver in my Thai boat noodles and that I like my pad thai spicy -- and before, that was never an issue or a back and forth conversation. Now, I'm asked the same clarifying questions over and over, and I'm even told that they "don't make pad thai spicy," which was never the case before. It's honestly disappointing because this used to be such a reliable weekly staple for me. I'm not sure if there's been a change in ownership, staff, or recipes, but the consistency in both food and service just isn't there anymore. I really hope they can bring back the quality and experience that made me a regular in the first place.

My friends and I came on a Friday evening at 9pm and it was relatively empty with maybe 1 or 2 more small parties. Has all the Thai Classics you could want on a menu and then some. For 5 people, I think 4 dishes is the perfect amount but 5 if you're feeling pretty hungry. Beef Spicy Fried Rice (med spice): a staple and solid to go well with any of the entrees, though maybe smaller on the portion size Tom Yum: served in a heated tin pot - also a smaller portion size but flavor is great and not overboard with the sour for people who like milder Tom Yums Bbq Pork: served with a tangy sauce - great sharable dish Khao Soi: this was a table favorite - so much so we ordered seconds! Curry is plentiful so make sure to save some rice or get a separate bowl of white rice to really indulge. Served with a chicken drumstick that is fall off the bone tender and flavorful. And even you don't have rice the noodles are a great vehicle for the curry! Also spice is not a problem if you are hesitant because they can serve it to the side and you can adjust to your liking. Everything was ready and packed when I got there! I appreciate that they put the peanuts in a separate container. For the order, I got the Pad Thai and the combo platter. The pad thai was on the sweeter side. I got my order with pork as the protein choice. I felt if a lime was provided, it would help balance out the flavors of the noodles. The peanut was kept in a separate container, which I appreciated. The platter consists of a variety of items from dumplings, egg rolls, cream cheese wonton, wonton, and shrimp tempura. The container had holes to allow for the steam to escape, so most of the items were still crispy. Nothing from the platter particularly stands out in taste, besides possibly cream cheese wonton. Overall, it felt like an okay option if you're in the area.
