Wow, this food is incredible. I've been living in Middletown for a year and of course only tried them during my last week here and I regret it! Every piece of my oxtail platter was delicious. The seasoning was phenomenal, the rice is cooked so well and the plantains were so sweet. My only complaint was that I only got two plantains in my order and I think the platter would've been perfect if they were just two more small oxtail pieces in the plate. I do feel like Scotchie Peppa's down the road gives a bit more meat. Don't even get me started on the mac & cheese though. I firmly stand by the fact that my mom makes the best mac & cheese but this mac & cheese came really damn close. You can taste the Caribbean twist to it, definitely not a traditional mac & cheese but so cheesy and so addicting. If you are reading this and wondering if you should go, the answer is yes. I ordered on GrubHub and my food was ready to pick up in less than 20 minutes. The Mac and cheese looked old and tasted like they dumped the entire box of salt inside. The rice wasn't good and the oxtails were extremely tough. Time after time these establishments serve our community with such disrespect. The young lady was so unwelcoming. Trying to patronize black owed businesses and are often times served with such attitude. We have to do better. Food wasn't good and probably will never patronize this establishment again. read more

This experience was the absolute worst I've had in a long time. This place used to be Mario's Island Cuisine and it was the best around for Jamaican food. I stopped in last week and got my wife some food. It wasn't even edible the stewed chicken was nothing but bones the roti was dry and tasteless. The plantains were dry and crunchy. The stewed cabbage was coleslaw it wasn't at all what I expected. The food had no flavor.... I understand sometimes it's an off day but the experience was just that bad.. won't be back! The 3 stars are for three things. First the two young people working the register. A young male and a young female are very kind and professional. Where they learned it from I don't know because the older women working there have the rudest demeanor. They don't speak even when spoken to and act as if putting in your order is a favor and troublesome. The food is by far the NOT the best but it'll due for this area. I know real Jamaican food and Sisters is average; nothing special. The last two stars are because I like that they have a vegan patty option and fresh juices to choose from most days. The new owner is Very rude. She Doesn't greet her customers upon entering her business. I walked in & said hello, & she replied what do you want..smh Also her Oxtail meal is way over priced. A medium meal with 2 plantains a small amount of cabbage & some rice & only four small oxtails will run you $14. Four oxtails for $14 is outrageous. Mean while Yaadsyle restaurant across town gives you almost double the amount for around $13, & the people there are very pleasant. Being that this is the second time I went there & received an attitude, I will not be supporting this establishment Anymore. It sucks because I've been a patron of this business for 10 years plus. Awful awful awful!! Avoid this place. The food is way over priced and lacks authentic Jamaican flavor. I ordered a medium oxtail. Initially the female cashier placed 2 pieces of meat on the plate and proceeded to drown it in gravy. I requested more meat & she responded "oh you want extra?" After adding a few more pieces (maybe 3) she rang up my order. $22.56 for a medium oxtail... how? She explained the extra $6-7 was for "extra meat". Ha!! Total rip off. The food was not good at all. Had no taste & the curry chicken tasted boiled. The oxtail was ok, still lacked flavor & same for the stewed chicken. Absolutely no Caribbean flava was on my plate. The customer service was also poor. You guys need to smile & greet the customers. We are paying for the food, not begging. Some lively upbeat music can add a nice touch while we wait. The ambiance needs a little spicing up too. If you want people to be attracted to your restaurant put some time & attention into making sure the customers needs are satisfied. Oxtail, cabbage, and plantain was delicious. The white rice was a little over cooked. The vegetable patty was amazing. & the best part is they have authentic HOT SAUCE readily available (I didn't have to ask for it)! Needless to say, the food is Much better than what the previous owner had to offer. The young lady who served my food was a sweet heart. The establishment appears very clean. Prices were pretty good. I am very very happy that there is an authentic Caribbean food spot in the neighborhood. read more

I've been to this restaurant several times since the change in ownership. I like the vibe that I get from staff, especially since they're the owners. I've never had a issue with the food either. I love that they're also open to improvements. Def recommend! read more
