Decided to drop by this place for the first time while my MIL shopped at the nearby costco. This location is beautiful and dog friendly. I walked up to the window to pay cash, but they shut it as I approached and never came back to take my order. They have a card only self-service kiosk where I placed my order for an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. The drink itself was alright. Not enough vanilla for me to taste it. Looked at the bottom of the cup and confirmed that little vanilla bean remnants sat at the base. I saw plenty of other patrons, but I dont see any other appeal to this place other than they have a good amount of seating, a good view and dog friendly. Service needs work. read more

Love this place. Open 7 days a week from 8-4PM. Places to sit after a nice walk or running your dog at Point Isabel Shoreline. Some sit down tables come with umbrella shade. Located next to Mud Puppy scrub grooming salon. My Cappuccino was fantastic. Service was excellent. Good selection of hot and cold drinks. Serving burgers and pastries too. Highly recommend. I had an all beef hot dog with sauerkraut on it. It was ok. Why is it so hard to find a good old hot dog in the Bay Area?. It is the easiest thing to make... Start with fresh bread that you got from the store that morning or the day before ( specially if you are right next to Costco)!!, a good quality dog, some condiments and there you have it. The one I just had the bread was obviously previously frozen and reheated. That ruined it for me. It is not worth to freeze hot dog bread, its better to treat it as waste than trying to serve it again and loose a costumer. The beef link was ok, not the best, there are better in the market but it would've been ok with fresh bread. Besides that, service was excellent and the space is kept clean and tidy. Coffee is good. I'm not one to ever complain about service but my wife and I have been coming here for years. It's usually a pleasant experience however today we ordered two spicy polish sausages and one of them was clearly not spicy. When we tried to return the non spicy for an actual spicy sausage, we were met with a rude response. An older woman kept gaslighting us saying it was a spicy sausage when it was clearly different from the actual spicy sausage we did get. The younger man working was respectful however the older Asian woman has horrible customer service skills and was incredibly rude. We will not be returning in the future and I encourage whoever is reading to disregard this place as well. If I could give less than 1 star I would. read more

** The following review reflects my experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** Did you know a mudpuppy is a salamander that according to Wikipedia, "relies on external gills as their primary means of gas exchange"? Of course they're referring to the '"common mudpuppy" because apparently more evolved ones clearly use Depends. OK, I have a feeling that has nothing to do with this place which is kind of a canine spa. I don't have a dog much less a mudpuppy. I just happened upon it once when the Costco parking lot was overflowing, and I found myself parking in the circle in front of it. I soon realized there was a huge dog park at Point Isabel, and the proximity to the bay assures that their paws will get muddy. The operation looks very efficient here, but of course, I can only speak as a two-legged animal, not a four-legged one, unless....oh, never mind. My focus was on the patio snack bar adjacent to Mudpuppy's in the same building. That's where I unexpectedly discovered the appropriately named Sit & Stay Cafe. Since I can be as obedient as a dog, I followed their directions and ordered a $4.45 Latte which was piping hot and quite decent (photo: https://bit.ly/3fBQilN). The canine population surrounded me like a scene from "Cujo", but I managed the transition from Sit & Stay to Sip & Run in quick order. Rolling over is not my specialty unless...oh, never mind. Sit & Stay Cafe is located at Point Isabel Dog Park. The name fits since it's a great place to people-watch and especially dog-watch. They share the same building as Mudpuppy's and a lot of customers will grab some coffee and a bite to eat while waiting for their fur babies to be bathed and pampered after getting muddy and wet while playing and swimming in the bay. You take a sit, stay to consume your order, then enjoy watching the dogs. There's plenty of outdoor seating so it's already set-up for social distancing prior to the pandemic hitting. They closed for a few months during the beginning of the lockdown, but they have re-opened and modified their hours from 9AM to 2PM. (With the new orders from the governor, might wanna check if they are affected.) We've become regulars here since we've taken Jaime at the dog park several times now, and even before we got Jaime when we lost our dogs. However, we've never had their sandwiches, hot food and bagels. I've only had their coffee and Wifey has tried their smoothie once. A bit steep ($6.45) for the price of the smoothies and they were just OK; nothing to rave about. They did use fresh ingredients though, but I can make a pretty mean smoothie at home. I've gotten their Latte (both regular and iced) and their blend is somewhat muted and lacking in robustness that I prefer in my drink. They did have cocoa and cinnamon sprinkles available before the pandemic to add some flavor, but they took those away. Having said that, it's not a bad cup of coffee...it's not gonna wow you. Recently visited Pt. Isabel for the first time to go for a run, and this cute little spot is right at the parking area. Seriously, if you come to Costco but have never ventured driving past the Costco, you're missing out on this gem! I finished my run around 9:30, and I walked up to the cafe to see what might give me an energy boost afterward! I chose an orange-banana smoothie and an ice water. I was happy with my choice! This concession is at the very tip of Point Isabel. You will be surrounded by canine friends and their families. Every breed and size imaginable comes here. You are lucky if you get an outdoor table to sit on. Many dogs are off leash so don't be caught off guard if one joins you at your table with paws next to your food or drink. A huge bushy tail can pass in back of you and be sighted by your peripheral vision. It's a convenient place to grab a quick bite or drink after your walk to the point on a hot sunny day. There is a doggy bath next door too cuz you'll see dogs wading into the bay or scampering about with soiled feet. It's nice to have simple casual places that are pet friendly to enjoy with your fur baby. read more

This is a super convenient cafe in a super popular dog park. The wait in line can seem a little long, which is not so super. However it is worth it. After a walk with the dogs and all the excitement, you just want to have something to nosh on. That is why this place is so good. You can sit and let your dog roam leashless while watching all the dogs frolick in the grass. There is a great positive energy to the place. The staff are great. They are patient and hardworking. Food quality is ok as well as the seating arrangements. The joyful drama of the dogs is priceless. Actually, this is hands down best dog park I've ever been to. Ok, so this dog park and little spot is pretty cool but I'd only eat here again if I were super hungry (why we did) because it's so convenient if you're visiting dog park. Maybe the coffee is good? In my Yelp grading book, three stars is a C or a C-plus, not "A-OK." That noted, there are a couple of reasons to frequent this cafe when you're showing your dog a good time at Point Isabel. For one, it's the only place onsite where it's even possible to grab a bite to eat. It's obviously dog-friendly! And the staff is always pleasant. You DON'T go there because the food is especially good, though. You go there because you suddenly realize you're starving and there's no other immediate option for food. I've eaten several lunches at this spot, and each and every time, they cheap out on the sandwich fillings, especially those that are protein-based. Today I paid $8.50 for their turkey + avocado sandwich, and I don't think there were even two ounces of meat in the thing. As always, they use small pieces of cheap wheat bread, and somehow the avocado didn't make in there, either. Someone just assembled the basics (bread/mayo/lettuce/tomato/onion), slapped a little round ball of processed turkey in the center of the bread (at least take the trouble to spread it around a little, guys) and called it a sandwich. I called it an overpriced disappointment. If this only happened once, I wouldn't have written this review. But--when it comes to sandwiches, anyway--this is always the result. Maybe the coffee is good; I don't know. I'd stick with packaged items like Clif bars or the biscotti. I think that, because they're the only food concession at the park, they don't have to try very hard. It's still a pleasant spot with a chill vibe. This cafe was really nice, I was really excited that I could get a treat for my dog and a great sandwich for myself. The atmosphere was perfect, the cafe is right by the parking lot for point Isabel and lots of off leash dogs roam while their people friends eat. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was really tasty. I only wished there was more actual meat in the sandwich for the price. The service was really friendly and you can tell everyone knows each other and the employees. It's really cool to me to be able to "go out to eat" with my dog before experiencing the beautiful dog beach. The puppy food (cut up hot dog only) isn't on the menu but you can ask for it and it's a really reasonable price. read more

Very disappointing. I have been a long time customer but today I was burned. The now almost $7 Frappe was a sad mix of milk and a bit of Carmel syrup. Almost tasteless and milk seemed just about sour. They didn't seem to care anymore about the quality and when I asked why they don't put a bit of whipped cream on it, they said "that's a dollar more". I should have gone back for a refund but was flabbergasted at the awful taste, gouged price and a dollar for a squirt of whipped cream? Dang, things are bad here lately. They have a monopoly there at Pt Isabel so I guess they don't give a damn anymore. read more

This is a wonderful little hidden gem! Just around the corner from the dog wash, it's a great outdoor quick-service cafe with ample seating, and a nice selection of breakfast items, sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, espresso drinks (hot or cold), sodas, etc. The perfect place to grab a bite pre/post walk along the Bay Trail, or take to go on your walk. I had the chili cheese dog, and it was delicious! Great quality dog, real cheese, and a mildly spiced tasty chili. I'd definitely have it again. It's not gourmet food, but it's fresh and made well. Just a word of warning - you must love dogs! Because it is adjacent to the dog wash and a dog park, there are quite a few dogs that hang around the cafe with their owners. All were well behaved and, in my opinion, adorable. Just be prepared that you might get a visit from a four-legged friend to say hello, or perhaps in the hopes you'll drop something on the floor. I was in doggie heaven, especially because I don't have one of my own, so I loved the extra company. But, if you're weird about or scared of dogs, just know what you may encounter. BUT, again, I will say all the dog owners were very responsible, and the cafe itself is very clean and well-kept. If you'd rather keep some distance from the furry ones, there are other picnic tables further away and at different points on the trail (with great Bay views!). read more
