Took my friend and his mom here on a little lunch date. I warned them not to get too ambitious, but it was impossible not to overeat. Everything was delicious! The plantains were perfect. Such a cozy spot. Always plan to nap after a meal here!

Breakfast Burrito with rice subbed for potatoes and sour cream and pico de gallo added.

Super sweet service! Was able to customize my breakfast burrito exactly how I liked it - sub rice for the potatoes, add sour cream and pico de gallo. Salsa was spicy and flavorful. My only gripe was the price compared to a place I usually go to down the street - easily paid $8 more although I did add a tip. This will be my choice when I have extra money to spend lol.

I was randomly in the area on my way to Napa and decided to stop by this restaurant for lunch. Since I haven't had much Guatemalan food before, I figured this would be a good spot to check out. The interior was very bright, which gave the restaurant a good vibe. I went with the Camarones a la Diabla for my main meal. The shrimp were yummy, but not the freshest I've ever had. I enjoyed the tortillas that came on the side. Overall, the service was very solid and the waitress was sweet when I had questions about the menu. Good spot!

I never had Guatemalan food before, and I am glad this was my first introduction. You have to try it here! So good!! The ladies taking my order were so sweet and helpful answering all my questions. The dorados were so good and warm inside. There was enough meat to dough ratio and didn't feel too heavy. The garnachas were amazing. I went with the 5 piece, but I should've went with the 10! They came with beef and it was delicious with the toppings and garnishes. The chicken was fried to perfection. The skin was so thin and crispy, it's not your traditional American fried chicken. You must try it and the seasonings and dressings on the fries were delicious. Not too overpowering, wasn't drenched, just the perfect amount. I can't wait to come back here and try more food!!

GOOD GOD I am so full that I fear my stomach has turned into a bowling ball. While I live in SF now, I grew up in SoCal, and that means Christmas time is tamales time. It's a non-negotiable. It's also very hard to find vegetarian tamales in the bay--many are made with lard, even if the filling is cheese or vegetables. I can say the chipilin tamales here are the best tamales (of any kind) that I've ever had. That crema! The cotija! So good. My sister got the chuchitos and was equally impressed with her dish. We also shared the plaintains (because of course) and the atole de elote. Everything was a 5/5. The interior was clean and cute, prices were great, service was fast and friendly, and there's ample street parking (at least, when I went). I cannot think about food for the next few days, but I will be returning again soon.

WOW. I can't believe I never tried this place earlier. Our party of three got the sweet corn tamale, pache tamale, chuchitos, garnachas, and chile relleno plato. It was more than enough food but we just couldn't stop eating because of how delicious it was! The sweet corn tamale was like a dessert, but paired with the tang and salt of the sour cream and cotija cheese it became a refreshing sweet and salty bite. It was a traditional corn dough and the texture was insanely soft, unlike most of the dry tamales I have had before. The pache tamale was truly the star. I had no idea what I was ordering, but I'm so glad that I managed to get this item in my order. The masa is made with potatoes instead of corn which gives it a smooth and melt in your mouth texture and a savory, addictive flavor. The pork inside is juicy and tender. Each bite is complete with the tangy pickled onions. The chuchitos were like the traditional Mexican tamales I am used to, with corn masa and stuffed with flavor and juicy chicken. The tamales are doused in a delectable red sauce and topped with cotija, sour cream, and more pickled onions. They were delightful. The garnachas were definitely the other star of this order. I had never had tostadas like them before, with flavorful and juicy chopped meat, salsa, and cotija. They are served with pickled veggies to add spice and tang, but what surprised me the most was the sautéed cabbage placed on top of each garnacha. The cabbage was so flavorful and soft, and despite all of the other sources of flavor it made itself known. The chile relleno plato was unlike what I am used to. Often, the chile rellenos my family eats are poblano peppers stuffed with oaxacan cheese, these were not that at all. In a way, this dish resembled more of a stuffed bell pepper, with a red pepper filled with chopped meat and veggies. I did get a piece of cartilage which made me a little wary when taking a bite but it was so delicious I couldn't help myself. The black beans it came with were flavorful and the dressing of the salad was amazing and reminiscent of a green goddess dressing. The service was amazing. The people were sweet and accommodating. I also really enjoyed the ambience even though I did order pick up. There are murals and bright colors lining all of the walls, giving the place a welcoming and fun vibe. Overall, with the amazing food, sweet faculty, and beautiful setting, it is impossible to go to this place and not feel an immediate lift in mood.

We had the garnachas and the traditional tamale. Service was very friendly and fast and we enjoyed all the food. The grenachos is like a taco with a lot of filling. It's really good with the pickled veggies on the side. The traditional Guatemalan tamale was very comforting. I enjoy the chicken in it. There's a choice of beef or chicken. Not sure if they allow you to use the bathroom since it says no public restroom.

Camarones a la diabla! They have no spice, med spice and spicy

Food is phenomenal! So goood!! Service is great and the ambiance reminds of my abuelita (although I'm Mexican). Stop by! Enjoy! And leave a review. I've been coming here for years! A true gem

Small little spot with lots of parking. Fun atmosphere with plenty of color and Spanish music playing on the tv showing videos. Service was friendly and fast. Food arrived within 10- 15 mins. Surprised so fast. All the food was fantastic . I had to slow down to eat. The only issue is I live far from this spot but can't eat it as often as I would. Must try.

Love the food. Reminds my partner of her abuela's and tia's cooking. The server and the owner are helpful and friendly. The murals and music (mostly marimba, when I've been there) create a nice atmosphere. We recommend Antijitos all the time. It's one of our favorite places to eat.

My first time trying Guatemalan food and it was delicious. Ordered the steak with shrimp, sausage, plantains, potato salad, rice, and beans. There are also Guatemalan snacks you can buy at the counter.

They were pretty busy, so they had an estimated wait of about 30 mins, but we were able to get seated within 15 minutes! The restaurant itself is really big and has a nice outdoor seating area. The chefs and servers are all really attentive and nice as well. For the AYCE, just let your server know and then you get in line at the front where they have a setup for preparing tacos! There's a limit of four tacos each round and you let the chefs know what kind of meats you want. On the other side, they have condiments and other toppings that you can grab yourself. Whenever they run out of meats, they would rotate it with a different meat which is nice in case you get tired of the same meats each round! Surprisingly, my favorite meat ended up being cabeza because it tastes super hearty and flavorful and wasn't fatty like other cabezas I've had. To wash everything down, I got the Jamaica aqua fresca which had a strong, flavorful tamarind flavor. Overall, this is a top spot to go for taco tuesdays and any other day of the week!

I recently stopped in again, this time just for an horchata, and unfortunately it was a disappointment. Out of the 10 horchatas I've had in the past couple of months, this was easily the worst. It tasted like watered-down cinnamon water, with very little of the creamy, rich flavor you'd expect. BB Hopefully this was just an off day, but based on my experiences, this isn't a place I'd go out of my way to revisit.

I doubt that made much difference to their clientele, but in its place is another family-run business, this time Salvadoran. This one offers more generic plates at student-friendly prices for undiscriminating palates. That's at least my take in the couple of occasions I've tried it after going to the gym. The first time I tried it I couldn't see the menu until I got up to the order counter. Then I made the server wait since the menu was so comprehensive (Photo 5). I went basic and ordered the $16.99 Chicken Platter because the kabob version was five dollars more. It was decent enough though on the bland side with rice, fresh tomato salsa, and a small side salad of iceberg lettuce, sliced cucumber, and radish (Photo 9). The menu mentioned a house white sauce. I didn't see it, but I also didn't miss it either. I came back to try them again. I tried ordering the $14.99 Scrambled Eggs with Beef Chorizo but was told they were out of chorizo. This was looking to be a recurring theme because I was rebuffed the first time when I unsuccessfully ordered the beef gyro. Ironically this time they had the $16.99 Beef Gyro Platter. The rice and salad were identical to my previous platter, the beef was just OK (Photo 10).
