We recently brought our 8-month-old pup to the adolescent social sessions here and went in really hopeful that it would be a fun, positive experience for him. On the positive side, the staff were consistently friendly, kind, and clearly care about the dogs. They created a welcoming environment, and we appreciated their kindness. Unfortunately, the experience itself didn't quite work out for us. Our dog is an intact male, and he ended up in a group with all females, one of whom had recently gone through a heat cycle. The facility allows females who have recently been in heat, but unfortunately their scent just isn't conducive to a group social setting like this, especially for young intact males. The first week this happened we assumed it was just a temporary challenge and gave it the benefit of the doubt, but the issue continued during our next session. The scent was simply too distracting for him- and even other females were distracted by the scent. Our dog who normally socializes well in other group settings, became too fixated and overstimulated for any type of learning or appropriate social interaction. We really tried to give this facility a fair shot and came back again hoping for a better experience, but ultimately our dog had to remain leashed the entire session time, which completely defeats the purpose of a social/play session. We have now found a facility with stricter guidelines around females in heat. read more

I have been so pleased with SSF. My 4-month old Mini Aussie puppy is just about to finish their entry-level obedience series at the SW location, and it has been a wonderful experience for our whole family. The staff - Audra and Brendan - have been so caring, organized, thoughtful, and also honest with us along the way. They have been very observational to help correct behaviors in the way I work with my pup, shape experiences to help make her comfortable with other dogs, and make sure we are getting the most out of the experience. Our pup Luna loves going to class and we are really going to miss our Saturday 9:30 am outing. I've been so happy with their services and approach that I'm also looking into the next level up in obedience classes and some private walks / training play. I can't recommend Jamie and Sit Stay Fit enough. I sent my 2 year old, Izzie, on a 10 day board and train program and when she came home, I couldn't believe her progress. Izzie was a crazy little puppy with tons of energy! She loved to play with my older dog, but had a hard time socializing with dogs outside of my home. She was rambunctious, always wanting to play, and barked for attention. Taking Izzie for walks and runs left me feeling stressed and anxious. When I first met Jamie she was patient and calm and I knew she would take great care of Izzie. Jamie kept me updated on Izzie's progress with daily photos. It felt so good knowing Izzie was in loving hands and that she was getting individualized training. I was over the moon to hear that Izzie was playing well with other dogs, learning to be off leash at the river, and more importantly, she was learning to calm her impulses. Izzie came home last week a different dog! I was able to take her on long runs without her weaving in front of me or barking at any dogs we passed. Now if we see another dog, Izzie will sit calmly as they approach and make eye contact with me. When she is calm she gets to say hello to other dogs and we both end up happier! Izzie now also sits and waits at every stop sign and intersection instead of just charging through. Overall she is much calmer with my older dog and the energy in the home is much more relaxed. I'm so glad I used Sit Stay Fit for a 12-day board & train for my 7 month old puppy when I was out of state. She stayed with Jamie who an amazing job. My puppy came home with improved leash walking skills, total confidence around other dogs, better recall, and gets much less excitable by the family cat. Jamie sent awesome pictures and updates every day so I always knew how my pup was doing and loved seeing all of the fun she was having. We were referred to Sit Stay Fit by a couple of different sources after we were having some pretty intensive training with our wild little pup, Gracie. We are so thankful that we have started training with them! We started with overnight trains and now do a bi-weekly all-day train. Gracie's behavior has vastly improved. Our dog, Zoe, spent ten days with Jamie, learning all sorts of things but focusing on several we specially requested. She was picked up in the morning and came home exhausted every night. I highly recommend Sit Stay Fit for so many reasons. First, they are very reliable and trustworthy both with your treasured pup, but also access to your home. They are very considerate and take good care of our dog Bunny three days a week right now. The service is spectacular. They pick Bunny up and take her for walks and runs, they take her to public places, even stores, so she can learn how to behave in many different places. She has really been improving with her behavior around other dogs and playing and sharing toys with other dogs. We've noticed a great improvement in her behavior when strangers come to the house like repair people. She used to never stop barking no matter what we did and now she can calm down and relax after a good introduction. And this is after only about a month and a half with Sit Stay Fit. We took Bunny to classes, we hired private trainers in the past and we've done a lot of training ourselves, but there were still issues we couldn't resolve on our own so I'm so glad we found Sit Stay Fit! read more

Our pup, Charlie, is family and we had great difficulty figuring out what to do for a trip planned when he was only 4 months old. We chose Sit Stay Fit so that Charlie could receive personal attention and training while we were gone for 2+ weeks. The moment I met Jenna all of my fears dissipated. She walked in and had our pup responding to her cues in under 5 minutes! She is professional, extremely knowledgeable, yet kind and caring. We left on out trip feeling confident he was in great hands. What I didn't expect was to receive daily updates (and photos!) in great detail about his behavior and progress. She was also enthusiastic about discussing my questions and even adding to the long list of issues to be addressed as she progressed quickly through our list of requested training. I know she structures her correspondence to the desires of her clients and she never failed to meet my need for updates and photos. Jenna has the patience of a saint to enthusiastically deal with our Shiba and us as well. To conclude the service, we were provided with a detailed report of her training and how best to proceed with Charlie to continue his newly learned skills. She even followed up with a training session for us with Charlie to further instill the techniques for success. Charlie is now 9 months old and an obnoxious handful. Jenna has stepped in and taken Charlie in hand when we've needed to leave town. Luckily, she has a great sense of humor and the ability to tolerate lazy pet owners as we have not been consistent with the training she proposed. She patiently re-establishes the lessons for both Charlie and us as to how to get back on track. I could go on and on about Jenna's training skills, abilities, patience, and knowledge. We were going out of town for the weekend and were very stressed about finding a boarding option for our dog. We'd had her almost two years, but had never spent a night away from her and she's a rescue who is EXTREMELY nervous around people she doesn't know so finding someone she'd be comfortable with was going to be very challenging. Knowing how nervous our pup can be, our trainer recommended Sit, Stay, Fit and we're so glad he did! Jenna was awesome and Roxie had an absolute blast. Jenna knew it was our first time being away from her so I really appreciated her checking in with us and sending photos of the fun they were having - it really helped put me at ease and I got to enjoy the weekend rather than worrying about how Roxie was doing. Roxie is not the kind of dog that would do well in a kennel in a boarding facility so I love that she stayed with Jenna at her home and got to socialize with other dogs. They even took a trip to the beach! Roxie had so much fun that I'm pretty sure she didn't want to come home. I took my 1 year old dog to one of the workout classes. He's a young pup that is full of energy and I wasn't sure if he would be too noisy or distracted to participate.
