Nasty! I don't know what they did to my lovable, goofy Bernese Mountain Dog puppy (10mo), but when I picked him up from his 2hr evaluation appointment, he was cowering, and the man told me that he was terrified and 'failed.' I just wish I'd pulled up their web cams so that I could've seen what they were doing to him - assuming that it would be visible. He was *beside himself* when they brought him out. Poor baby! Worse yet, within just a couple of days of bringing him home, he developed a cough which progressed and got much worse. I had to take him to the vet who said that he had contracted bronchitis or a severe case of kennel cough--despite my dog being completely vaccinated including his Bordetella. DO NOT take your beloved pet to this poorly-run Petri dish!

Sniff Dog Hotel is a god send! Especially the nursery school. Angie and her team are amazing with the puppies and early stages training. Each day the puppy comes home with a report card to help the parents stay in sync with training and goals. It is so helpful to have a team training with you. Our Corgi, BeBe, LOVES going to Sniff. Everyone there is passionate about dogs. They happily cater to each dog's needs and personality. They also have a fantastic groomer and self service washing station. We are devoted Sniff clients forever!!

    Dog infection

Cross posting from Google review to include photos. You can tell me if you think this looks normal, or if you should expect to see this when picking up your dog without any word on it from the "hotel". Update: After a vet visit, it seems Fred has developed an infection in the area. While it's easy to speculate, the vet presumes it could be from Fred lying in his own urine. ---------- I just picked up my dog Fred from 5 days with Sniff with more angry red rashes on his groin area than I can count. He did not show up with these rashes, and to not have been told about this when picking him up or any of the days I called means he must not have been monitored very carefully-which is concerning, because I dropped Fred off after he had been neutered 17 days prior explicitly asking that his incision be monitored. There is no way these rashes wouldn't have been noticed if there was the purported attention being given to him. The facilities at Sniff are impressive-it's fairly new, and looks different from other boarding places that don't look very different from a kennel. But with a place like this where people keep their beloved pets when there is no other option but to board them, it takes more than a fresh coat of paint and good marketing. While their prices are fairly high for non-daycare dogs, that's not at all what I care about here-it's the fact that I trusted these people that my dog would be taken care of and be kept healthy and happy, and I just don't think that happened here.

We recently welcomed a furry bundle of joy into our home, and have found ourselves overwhelmed by her overly-enthusiastic approach to living life. Our little angel is all teeth and claws, and boundless energy! Wonder Puppy group puppy training classes are amazing. We are halfway through their 9-week course now, and already feel we've received valuable return on investment. Trainers Katie and Matt have shown genuine interest in our puppy's well-being and progress. They have a remarkable ability to connect with both puppies and their owners, anticipating any of the crazy questions we might ask. The classes cover a wide range of essential topics from basic commands like sit, stay, to more advanced topics like loose-leash walking and impulse control. Wonder Puppy ensures a positive experience for everyone who walks through their doors, offering personalized guidance and support. I really had no idea puppy socialization is so important. Wonder Puppy enables a safe and controlled environment where puppies can interact and play with one another. I've already seen the value in these socialization experiences as my puppy is beginning to calm down, and to learn appropriate behaviors... most notably, how much is too much? Seriously, those little teeth and claws are really quite sharp! I appreciate the well-maintained and clean facility at Wonder Puppy. There is ample street parking in the neighborhood, though beware of the homeless camp located on the next block. Use common sense when securing your vehicles, and be sure to keep any valuables out of sight or bring them in the building with you. My husband, my puppy and I have all benefited tremendously from our time at Wonder Puppy. It's been a really positive experience, and I'm hoping the lessons we've learned will serve us for many years to come.

We used Tails and Trails 3 times with mixed results. Important to know- you create detailed notes with the owner (Jeff) on how to access your building, routines, where leashes are, etc., etc., when you have your introductory visit. Our instructions ask that the handler only feeds the cats their canned food, nothing else. 1st time, week-long trip (June 2024)- handlers were 2+ hours late regularly. While this wasn't the biggest issue, we don't have a doggie door and that level of lateness pushed the pup's bathroom breaks longer than we're comfortable. But, we liked the service offered and adjusted how often we scheduled handler visits for the second and third visits. 2nd time, 1 week of walks while both of us were gone for longer than 8 hours (September 2024)- Great! Annie (I'm not disclosing employees' full names for their privacy) had no problems and was very helpful. 3rd time, overnight away- 4 visits requested: Sat afternoon and evening; Sun am and afternoon (October 2024)- Day 1- We left the house at 8 am and scheduled feeding/walk visits for about 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Around 1:25 pm, Chloe (office manager) texted me to ask if we had scheduled for 7:00 am that day. When we said we hadn't, a communication between Chloe and a handler led to the 1:00 pm visit being skipped. We talked with Chloe that evening and she said the handler would roll the afternoon and evening visits together, apologized for the miscommunication between herself and the handler, and credited our account for the mistake (all great). The handler arrived around 7:00 pm. They had a difficult time accessing the building so Chloe texted us to say the handler would hang out for a little longer before leaving if they couldn't get access. Once they did get into the building, they couldn't find the food or leash. The access information, food instructions, and where the leashes are were all in the instructions. The handler fed the pets and took the pup for a 15-min potty break. Since we were only gone for a night, we didn't book anyone to stay overnight. We considered cutting the trip short and wish we had. Day 2- Oscar was our handler. We got notifications that both visits were completed and everything seemed to have gone smoothly. When we got home, a glass jar with cat treats had been taken from the closed closet and left open on the counter. When we got home, there were treats all over the counter and SHATTERED GLASS MIXED WITH TREATS all over the floor. All three cats had engorged stomachs. While Chloe apologized and said she'd speak with Oscar the next day, we didn't hear back from Tails and Trails' manager or owner. We'll be anxiously monitoring our furbabies for a few more days.

We tried multiple other training classes and techniques in the Portland area but none of them were able to help us with Bumper's leash aggression, pulling, and stubbornness. We were at the point where we were hesitant to take him anywhere because of how naughty he was. After doing much research and reading all of the excellent reviews, we decided to try Off Leash K9 Training. Although Ryan and Mandy were located in Eugene, we decided do the two-week course where Bumper stayed with them 24/7. We had doubts about whether or not it would work because of how stubborn our kiddo was, but he came back a different dog! No he is not perfect and he still acts out, but he is soooooo much better than before and we feel comfortable taking him out in public. Ryan and Mandy even extended his training for an additional week at no cost because he wasn't making the progress they had hoped he would. When we finally picked up Bumper after the three weeks, Ryan spent over two-hours with my wife and I to go over Bumper's trainings and commands. He was very patient and did a great job explaining everything. Yes the training is very expensive, more than I ever thought I'd pay for dog training, but the benefits of a well behaved beagle are priceless. Ryan and Mandy also run a dog rescue on site so it was great to know Bumper would not be alone. We will definitely be using Ryan and Mandy again for all of our training needs. Thank you!
