We ordered take out from here. Let me preface that I am not a sushi guru. I haven't ventured into the raw rolls yet, BUT I did order two shrimp tempura rolls (AMAZING) and a specialty roll called Caught in a Bad Romance. Two words: the bomb! The shrimp tempura roll was around $7 and the specialty roll was $13. It was worth every penny! I wish I knew the portions beforehand because the CIABR roll was the size of two regular rolls so I couldn't finish it all. I definitely saved it for dinner :) We also ordered the pan fried dumplings, combination fried rice and shrimp egg rolls. Not one complaint. Went there for lunch, I had sushi, chirashi. I understand that making the food visually beautiful is nice except when there are slices of lemon. Problem with this is that the lemon turned the flavor of the rice to a sour taste. It was very inedible. So sad cause I was craving japanese. Technically didn't even go inside. I was sitting outside at a table in front of five guys around lunchtime and suddenly got really dizzy and lightheaded since I hadn't eaten all day and my blood sugar was low. A woman from inside this restaurant, (I'm assuming she worked there, I didn't even catch a glimpse of her face but she was wearing all black) noticed me slumped over and came outside to check on me while I waited for my bf to get food for me. i live in the tech road area and never thought to take this place out until covid, while it is rather small, the service is very fast and efficient. they are very nice and accommodating. i've only had the vegan friendly rolls which are hard to mess up (avo & cucumber), but my friend (meat eater) also really liked their california roll! would recommend for smaller groups (max 5/6) read more

Yes! This maybe my new local hangout spot of sushi! What's nice about this place is the interesting set-up and colour layout of the restaurant: from the nice colour scheme of their kitchen counter to the gorgeous kimono decorated as a tapestry on the wall. The subtle visuals help add warmth to the laid back and friendly ambiance. How about their food? Well for starters, their food menu is quite massive that I was flipping pages like a Harry Potter book. Just kidding. They make Chinese, Japanese, and Thai foods. I spent 20 years in the food business. I can tell you that this place sucks. I had the worst lunch ever. I ordered the lunch special sashimi. They served me a normal California roll and the four smallest pieces of luke warm fish I have ever had. They were small and thin. The worst part was when I was charged the "dine-in" prices when instead of the "take out" menu I ordered from. The waitress ignored my request to be charged the prices that I saw. She denied me and my request to be charged the amount I read on the menu and claimed that there was no manager on duty. Go next door to FiveGuys, you'll be much happier. read more

Cute little café offering a variety of different Asian cuisines. The Chinese food is really good (General Tso's) and their fried rice is delicious. Great spring rolls, too. They also have some of the best spicy Tuna rolls I've had in a while. The shrimp and veggie tempura is ok, but the dipping sauce served with it had a very fishy smell/taste--different from others I've tried and I did not enjoy it. The staff is super nice although our sever forgot our seaweed salad, but we actually forgot about it and we weren't charged. The prices are just right. I'd definitely be back. read more

I've been going to Siu's for a few years and I gotta say that it's a really good place to go to for everyone. It's kind of hidden and pretty small, though they do try to accommodate us whenever we arrive with a relatively large party. I've been there for both lunch and dinner on the weekends and 9 times out of 10 we have been able to find a table. Their appetizers are great (try the Egg drop soup, Crab rangoon, and the Avocado salad). And their chinese entrees have never failed us thus far. The best dish we've tried here is the General Tso's Chicken. But we also recommend the Shrimp Lo Mein and the Seafood Saute. The portions are very generous so it's a great steal for the quality and quantity of food your receive. Their brown and white sauces definitely beat the greasy, messy sauces found in chinese take out. I highly suggest that you come before 3pm because that is when they offer their lunch specials (everyday except Sunday). The only dishes we did not like were the Thai inspired dishes. The dishes taste like they used almost the same seasoning from their chinese dishes and threw in a few alterations. It doesn't taste like Thai food at all. So just stick to the suggested dishes list as well as their chinese selections and you'll leave happy and satisfied :) read more

I've been here twice now. Sushi rolls are ok and the specialty rolls are small and doesn't have much fish. What makes this 2 stars is the terrible service. I waited almost 40 minutes before my siu's sushi specialty roll and lunch special came out and it did not look like the roll I ordered. The waitress told insisted I was wrong and only when I asked another lady who looked like the owner did they say it was the wrong roll and took another 10 minutes making the correct roll. The curry chicken I also ordered was average too. It seems like a busy carryout place but I don't think I will give this place another try. read more

Wow I am so behind on this review. We've been ordering from here since shortly after Siu's opened almost a year ago. I really love this place and it's pretty much the only place we order takeout from. The pickings are pretty slim in our neighborhood. First off, the people who answer the phones for takeout orders are always super friendly. One day I called to order lunch and the woman congratulated me on being their first customer of the day! How nice is that? We have never experienced any problems with our orders and everything has always shown up exactly as it was ordered. The delivery people are also very friendly. We usually have the same guy and we should probably be on a first name basis with him at this point. The food is really good. My favorites are the gyoza (from the Japanese part of the menu), the beef lo mein, the Mongolian beef, and the Chicken Curry (from the Thai section of the menu). The Chicken Curry has become somewhat legendary in our home. I got it once on a whim and I couldn't believe how good it was. I hadn't had a curry that good since we were in Thailand! Seriously. My parents were down visiting us a few months ago and we got my Dad to try the Chicken Curry (and my parents aren't the most adventurous when it comes to foreign cuisine) and he LOVED it. It's hot though- so be warned. It's totally worth it though! This place is a very welcome addition to the area. It's the best takeout around. P.S. They deliver booze!!!! It's not cheap but if you're in a pinch you can have some Kirin Ichiban (only one of the selections available for delivery) delivered to your door along with some great food! read more

Cute little spot in a new shopping center. Food is a solid three - nothing inherently wrong, but nothing really flavorful as well. For example, my tofu dish which I asked for extra spicy was still rather mild, a bit salty and just not too flavorful, but had nice veggies and some fresh peas. The spring rolls weren't bad at all, but came accompanied with a bland sauce, or a mustardy/horseradishy sauce? I just didn't get it. Menu may be a bit too extensive, perhaps they should reduce it and improve the existing. Wait staff was very nice and attentive, and there is a cute little sushi bar. This place has a lot of potential, there's not much in the immediate area and I wish they would hone the menu a bit more. Not so sure the Thai should be on the menu either... Great great food!!! I love that they deliver, but even on their slowest days, they still take an hour to deliver and that is pretty disappointing. My job is five minutes away from their restaurant; we call for delivery ever other week and they always take "55 minutes". I will say.. Their sushi is amazing and I will NOT DENY IT! Their staff is super friendly and they have NEVER walked around with a bad attitude. You honestly cannot go wrong with Sui's Asian Bistro! Delivery? Ehh, just don't expect a fast delivery. Love, love, love their Caught in a Bad Romance roll which consists of shrimp tempura, crabmeat, avocado, cucumber and tobiko outside. Super yummy and pretty filling since the pieces are pretty big. The Volcano roll is also super yummy, its fried and comes with some spicy sauces that make it even better. This place is a hit or miss. I have tried their chicken lomein which lacked flavor so I really just go for the two rolls I mentioned. Also, their gyoza (Japanese style dumplings) are pretty tasty and also come with a semi spicy soy sauce that I do enjoy. read more

This is the first time that I tried this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. I got carry-out. The food was very tasty and fresh. Portions were good size. I ordered tofu with mixed vegetables and there was a nice selection of vegetables in it with a well- seasoned brown sauce.Instead of getting the fried tofu that it comes with, I ordered it withsteamed tofu which was delicious, soft and and big pieces. The hot and sour soup was also very good --not too spicy, but flavorful. I will be back another time. The only thing that I did not like was paying in$2.00 extra for brown rice. We pass by here all the time and we ended up here after finding out TGIF is full and did not want to wait. We came here at around 10pm on a Friday night and the place was not packed at all... Service: of course we got seated immediately however, we receive our water right away. Our water glass was not empty for more than 5 minutes. Our server was friendly and efficient. Food: Delicious. I had sushi and my husband had sesame chicken with chicken fried rice. Portion was reasonable that we ended up with a doggy bag. Overall: the quality of food you get is definitely worth the money. Studied at Panera for a while.. didn't want to eat Panera after having sat there for hours smelling Panera. I walked around to see what else was nearby. Saw Siu's, and decided to check it out.. Should've stayed at Panera. Inside, it's fairly small. There were a lot of customers, and the ambience/mood wasn't bad. Low lighting, soft chatter throughout dinner. Not bad.. The lady and I ordered sushi. We weren't expecting anything great from a place that had Chinese, Japanese AND Thai on the menu. But what I got was unacceptable. Tiny, measly little rolls that cost $6. I got a spicy scallop roll, which came in 6 pieces. I'm sorry, but Todai uses cooked scallops in their spicy scallop rolls, and even THAT atrocity tasted better than what I had at Siu's. I also ordered a Yellowtail maki roll, which should not be hard to mess up. I somehow ended with a Spicy Yellowtail roll, which cost an extra $1+ and had some nasty spicy mayo nonsense on it. It. was. not. good. at. all. Girlfriend got two rolls: vegetarian roll, which was surprisingly not bad, and a Yellowtail maki roll w/ fresh jalapenos (which isn't on the menu and costs extra), and that wasn't bad either. Service was terrible. They got my roll order wrong, didn't bring out my girlfriend's salad, and didn't give us water until we asked for it well after our food came out. A bit littered with serving dishes, also in direct line of sushi chef serving up dishes over my left shoulder..hey, it about the food, so... Opening with hot miso soup, cold sake.. Both perfectly acceptable..nice to get cold sake in a carafe, like usually served with hot sake..nice change. The sushi; Spicy seafood roll, a combination of all those lovely fishes usually sold separately ( which they do in fact have, i.e. Spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, etc) this is a nice combo of them all. Good taste, obviously fresh. Sashimi - my usual go to's...mackerel, yellowtail, unagi, tobiko (got to love fish eggs served in cups made from cucumbers) and salmon, 3 to an order on all the above.. Came back with my mother and the significant other for a light lunch. The place was still a little cramped but what can you do about that? The food was delicious (as always). They also allow you to order the lunch specials on Saturdays until 3. Good food at a great price! The staff was attentive without being overbearing. My mom even took a carry-out menu with her and plans to come back when she is down for our wedding in November. She was really impressed with their General Tso Chicken. I've been dying for a decent sushi place near me (Burtonsville) forever! Now I can't comment on anything other then the sushi, but it is good!! Sorry Hanaro..... when we moved away from your gracious arms, Siu's is ridiculously closer, slightly cheaper, and they deliver!! I love Hanaros of Bethesda (they are 5 stars all the way), but Siu's beats them out on so many other levels. Bottom line, sushi is fresh, staff are nice, lots of creativity with fusion type rolls, and did mention they deliver??? If you even pass this joint on your way home, swing by and grab something to make your own "call". I for one will be sampling an assortment of crazy ass rolls (yet again) for dinner.
