Start date would be July 9th 2025 finish date July 16th 2025After they started patio they measured wrong for my middle piece. They temporarily put a wooden piece on the opening until Glass came in. I'm really surprised to see a couple of these reviews. We've been building commercial projects for many years and chose SIW to do the windows on my own home. Their quality of windows and doors, and the installation was absolutely excellent. In fact, we needed help with some things that were not at all within our contract and they still came willingly and quickly to help us. My experience with SIW has been exceptional. If you want a company that honors its warranty, don't use SIW. We have 5 sets of sliders facing patio and about 25 ft from our pool. Two years after SIW installation one of the frames showed evidence of corrosion. SIW blamed it on proximity to pool (only one frame had corrosion). Then they said I was required to have it professionally cleaned monthly to honor the warranty, but for $10,000.00 they would replace it. read more

I had SIW/Marvin come to our house to do a minor repair job on my SIW door. (This SIW door was installed by SIW). I spent over $40000 for SIW doors and windows. One service man came over to our house and he completed the job in 27 minutes. SIW/Marvin charged me upfront $300 for labor only. I contacted SIW/Marvin about this outrageous amount for 27 minutes of labor. The manager on the phone told me that if I do not like it, next time go to a different window manufacturer. And then he just hung up the phone on me. Great customer service and customer appreciation. Giving them a one-star rating is overly generous; they deserve a zero. read more

Approximately 3 years ago, I contracted with SIW Impact Windows to install hurricane windows in a home a purchased the prior summer. As per my agreement, I paid $67,000 on a timely basis and was to have to have the windows and doors completed before I headed up north for the summer. The work was not completed on time and I had to arrange for my home watch service to assist in access to the house to complete the work in my absence. I have an older Florida style home with flat roofs in two areas, whereby you can't see onto the roofs. Recently, I had a worker on the roof who noticed a large pile of debris had been left on the roof. Cement from the frame of the house, parts of the former windows, cement mixing barrels, plywood, building supplies. Debris. And a lot of it. It had all been put into the far corner of the roof, apparently so it couldn't be seen. It was not scattered around the roof, but was meticulously piled into a far corner so they did not have to remove it themselves. Rats had taken home in this area. I had to go onto the roof 3 times to access the situation. I'm 68 years old. I had 2 workers, one for 6 hours, 1 for 2 hours, on the roof, removing the debris. Then we had to drag the debris out to the street for removal. I called SIW to discuss the damage done to my house. I was referred to Jason Cooper. In fairness, he returned my call twice, although the second time he noted "unfortunately" that he was busy with field work and did not have time to talk with me. In other words, they have my money, and customer service ended there. I'm now working with pest control to decide if work needs to be done in regard to the rats. They folks should be ashamed of themselves. The worst. read more

I was sold windows with a lifetime warranty or as long as I own my home. They told me that they will not be honoring this warranty.Also when they installed my windows the scratched my sliding door and painted over the scratch to hide it. Now the paint has oxidized leaving the door discolored. Do yourself a favor and choose another company. Horrible customer service. read more

Custom Door ordered and paid in full in March of 2021. Called to set installation in October and was told by a completely incompetent person that the door was measured wrong and she was rushing to have a new one fabricated. New door would be installed in a week. There was no follow up by SIW and a week came and went with no phone call ... we called every day for the last week and was promised a return call and no return call. Today, I'm sitting in the SIW store in Delray and the new reason why the door isn't installed is because they can't find it. The supervisor said he escalated this just today even tho I've been trying to speak to someone for 5 weeks now .... Still no door or any timeframe and my construction is stalled due to their incompetence ... without a front door, no AC, no ac, no floors.... Ive been waiting for the Director to give me a plan of action and he has chosen to ignore this situation. I was fortunate to reach Hillary Chandler when I called SIW for some repair work. Hillary setup the necessary appointment to have a service tech come to my home and verify the proper balancers to order. Hillary did a great job of following up with a second service call once the balancers arrived from back order. I live in a condo that requires any company doing work in the building to be properly insured. Hillary did a great job of following up with the proper insurance form so the work could be completed as quickly as possible. You don't often see this type of commitment these days..... read more

In 2013/2014 we had SIW replace our windows and doors. The building inspector failed the install due to screws being omitted, which turned out to be an om Fast forward to January 2020 and our kitchen remodel which exposed screws "anchoring" the bottom of a slider. The screws are short, penetrating only 1/16th of an inch into the concrete. We've called and visited several times trying to get them to properly repair the windows. Promises of returning calls have not materialized and since this is stalling our kitchen renovation, we paid another company to handle it. This would've taken SIW only a few hours to make right; instead they showed no regard for customer service and do not stand behind their shoddy installation. Makes us wonder what is behind and other the other windows and doors. I strongly suggest you shop elsewhere. A few weeks after the above, SIW called asking if we still required service and apologized for not getting back to us. They cited internal issues. Bottom line remains that we paid someone else to make it right. We are satisfied with the windows themselves. read more

They were bought by Marvin Windows & Doors before our project was completed. We were supposed to have a whole house of doors and windows replaced on our second home in Florida. We made it clear when we set up the project that it was a second home. We were given a time frame and made it clear that we were coming to Florida for the project. We were notified about a week before the scheduled installation that the dates were being pushed back by 2 days. We were told the installation would take 5 to 6 days, and that the crew would be working on Saturday. The project started on July 29th. On July 31st, I received a call from Jenny, that one of the windows was cracked. It was installed, but the glass would need to be replaced and that the glass was ordered as a rush order and it would take 7 to 10 days to get the new glass. My husband was notified a little later by the installers that two of our doors were missing. I followed up with Jenny to check on the status and, after several follow ups to get the work done while we were still in Florida, the two doors were located and installed. After the installation, there were still 2 1/2 days of stucco repair done on the house, delaying our return trip to Maryland by one day and, when still not finished, the crew came back for a final day when were were not home. I let Jenny know that we would not be back in Florida until Labor Day weekend, but if my husband could get down sooner, I would let her know. My husband got down on August 27th. I sent an email to Jenny on August 23rd when my husband was able to confirm that he was going to Florida. I followed up several days later, August 28th, with another email and received an out of office message for the week. I then called for the office manager and was rudely told that he was not in, they did not know when he would be in, but they took my information and said they would have him call me. He did not call. I did receive a call from a Jennifer and I went over the scenario with her. She said that she was able to check and our glass was ready, she just didn't know where it was or when it could be installed. She said that either she or Jenny (I later learned they were the two coordinators assigned to our job) would call me first thing on Monday morning. Having not heard anything by late afternoon on Tuesday, September 1st, I sent a follow up email to Jenny. She then called and informed me that the window was due in the following day, September 2nd, and she would call me that afternoon, after confirming that they had the glass, and let me know when they would be able to install the replacement glass. Although I told her that we would be leaving on Tuesday, she said that they would try to install the glass on Tuesday or Wednesday. I again told her that we would not be there on Wednesday. Once the replacement glass is installed, the project still needs to be signed off on by an inspector. I pointed this out to Jenny because I do not consider the project completed until the inspector signs off on it and, especially with everything that has gone wrong with the project, we want to be there when the inspector comes to make sure that there are no issues. I don't know if Marvin Windows will be any better than SIW Windows, but it seems they have the same staff, so I am not holding my breath. There are a number of other companies in the Delray Beach, Florida area, I recommend staying away from SIW/Marvin, and going with another company to avoid all the hassles and headaches, not to mention being lied to and ignored. read more

Hillsboro Beach, FL: Very disappointed. In less than a year and a half, the outdoor sliding door handles are showing rust. They are putting the blame on me for not maintaining them. Ive never heard of having to maintain door handles. They never told me they had to or warned me that they could. Obviously they did not install the right handles given the location (near the ocean). I did not have this problem with the previous door handles that were there many decades. After their first response, they have been ignoring my emails. read more

We were very happy with our salesperson and the installation itself. However, the customer service was very poor. Our installers could not complete the installation on one day because there were some things missing, which apparently had never been ordered, like the threshold and several screens. Getting those things done took several weeks and a lot of following up by us. Then the company charged more than $600 more than we owed and would not explain what that charge was for. After receiving no response whatsoever to our emails, which were copied to three people, including our salesman, we asked Amex to intervene. It got no response either and the extra charge was charged back to the company. Months later and out of the blue, we received an email from the company asking for final payment, which we had made almost immediately after installation was complete. After a flurry of email (I put everything in writing with them), it was explained that the inquiry was in error and part of company "training", which made no sense, since the email was addressed to us personally. In addition to that, individual I was dealing with, who I think was Jenny Nelson, could not get our name right and insisted that she had spoken to us on the phone, which she had not. When I emailed her disputing our "conversation" she then admitted that she had not actually called us to apologize, as she represented in an email. The whole experience was awful, which is truly disappointing as we only did the front half of our home and intended to do the rest next year. Now we will have to start researching and interviewing all over again. read more

I contracted twice with SIW - at first we thought we got a good result with the windows and doors. This initial experience was far better than our second installation. Most importantly we were given bad advice from their professional for very expensive windows and doors. Our windows face south - the old windows and doors had tint - we explained our sun issue - our salesman said you don't want tint - you just want e-glass. Several times we talked and questioned - we were more than willing to pay for the tint with the e glass and the salesman repeated - you will cut down on the efficiency of the e glass - Im telling you only get e glass. Terrible advice. I have wasted $20,000 for a result that has forced me to purchase custom shades for all the windows and doors SIW installed. I didn't need any shades with the old windows and doors. The heat and glare is impossible. I may have impact windows and doors now but I must keep everything closed with shades and blinds all day long. These are large fixed panes and sliders. SO I have windows and doors that basically I cant look out of. We had a issue with the master bedroom large slider. The lawn crew used the leaf blower near the master bedroom door and my inside drapes began moving. SO I called SIW - air was forced inside and actually moved the drapes. What's going to happen with hurricane force winds ? The technician who came out to adjust the slider walked into the master bedroom and said gee what glare you should have bought tint - when I explained our salesman's advice of e glass only he didn't comment - So I said I'll have tint installed and he very carefully explained to me if I add tint to the SIW windows I will void my warranty. How could tint affect a hurricane impact slider and window that it would void my warranty ? Something is so off there. This same slider the technician adjusted in the master bedroom 'sweats' and forms moisture on the inside glass almost daily. Also the small weep holes in the tracks are open to the outside and small lizards, ants and spiders are able to come into the house. The first installation SIW came when they were scheduled. Worked for an entire week on a huge job of sliders and fixed panel and windows. Second installation SIW confirmed our installation on Friday before the scheduled installation on Monday. Monday @ 10 am Jenny called stating they just didn't have the glass and wouldn't be showing up. Nothing they could do - she said beyond our control - they just didn't have the windows for my installation. This was after a 22 week wait. Jenny and I had words - I reminded her she confirmed on Friday - and I scheduled our vacation around this installation - her response was - this isn't my fault - we just don't have the glass. I asked why I was confirmed on Friday - she said well I guess I didn't know we didn't have your windows then. Do they normally construct the windows on the weekend for Monday installations ? - of course they knew they didn't have my order. I think she called trying to find out of if we wanted to cancel the installation. We waited 22 weeks. This installation was for 7 fixed windows. It took 9 days of installation - One Friday they left their scaffolding in the house over the weekend. To my surprise the installers then showed up on Monday @ 9 am and removed their scaffolding and tools leaving for another job site. The installers said we go where we are told. I was exasperated. I called Jenny and her reply was well they have a installation somewhere else. SO I said what your are saying is they had glass for a different job - just not my job. She said I cant comment - they go where they need to. The 7 fixed panes were installed one pane at a time. Previously we had SIW measure for more windows - but after this last installation I cant see how we can ever use them. First the bad advice of no tint has rendered these windows and doors impossible. My electric bill has increased since these windows were installed due to the lack of tint. I also incurred the cost of the shades. I wanted safe windows I could look out of. Didn't get that. I've been told the SIW product is good - thats why we originally contracted with them, but I received bad professional advice and poor customer service and a product that isn't what was promised. One more issue is the large 4 panel slider in the family room drags when opening. The fixed panels in the breakfast nook have excessive black sealer around the windows as if not trimmed properly. I didn't get a good result from SIW and it turns out I paid more than what I am finding is the average rate for impact sliders and windows. I bought a Marvin window formerly SIW. the window is very heavy and very hard to open. If you are handicapped or disabled this is not a window that you want as you will not be able to open it. It should not be used as an emergency exit window on a second floor again as you will not be able to open it. I contacted the company in reference to this issue as I'm 60+ and had this window installed on the second floor, it is and emergency exit window , I have a hard time opening this window and I'm in good health with no issues at this time. I had a very hard time opening this window, they made several attempts to make the window slide easier to no avail. They said they would contact me to meet with their service people to discuss the issue, that never happened and then they advised the installer that there window is working within their specs. Please for your safety do not have this window installed if the window is an emergency exit . read more

The product is probably the best in the business. Very heavy duty, very quiet after installation. Feel very safe from storms or intruders. The installation is good quality as well. As another reviewer said, Abe the owner will get involved on any level to make it right. He said as much at the contract signing and did as he said along the way. However, why should the owner be so hands on? Because their communication and coordination with the customer is sub par. If you go with them you will love the product but be ready to write down what is said and check in often as things might get confused along the way. SIW is THE place to go for impact glass. They manufactured and installed our 250lb. 7'x7' glass pivot front door. It is spectacular! They also replaced our back doors with beautiful modern sliders. After the permit process (about 7 weeks) they removed our front door entry and and installed in one day, the same with our sliders, and then a third day for perfect finish carpentry (although they don't paint, they made sure our stucco and tile was better than before they'd arrived) Everything was done in a timely (amazing on Miami Beach) courteous, and impeccable fashion. And the owner Abe actually responds to phone calls quickly and helped us with the arduous city inspection process. Abe takes pride in his product and his employees. I have built several homes using PGT windows and have always been happy. Due to the current delivery times, I was convinced to try SIW as they promised a quicker delivery. What a mistake! At the time of the order, they were promising delivery in 9-10 weeks. Most of the order was delivered about a month later than promised but two windows were missing altogether. It is now six months after the order was placed and I still do not have the missing windows and I have a house that should have been finished 3 months ago that remains unfinished with no answers from SIW as to when I will have these windows. When my contact person at SIW stopped responding to my emails, I stopped in at the main showroom and explained my situation and they promised to have someone look into it and contact me. After not receiving a call, I called again and asked when I should expect a call and I was told they passed the message along and had no idea when I would get a response. If you decide to do business with this company after reading this, I wish you luck and don't say you were not warned. I wish I had read some reviews before I placed the order. read more

After hurricane Irma, my husband and I were tired of putting shutters over our windows. We decided to replace the shutters with Inpact windows, we proceeded to call four different companies to get estimates. The first company did not show nor call for our scheduled appointment, we met with two other companies that we felt had very little knowledge and seemed not to be able to answer our questions. Finally my husband and I decided to go with SIW. We met with Xavier a representative for SIW, he seemed to me very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions very thoroughly. He explained product differences and the difference between a dealership and a manufacturing company which SIW is a manufacturing company. Xavier invited us to meet him at the show room so we could see the quality of the company products. We decided to give a deposit and scheduled a date for installation. Absolutely horrible customer service!! I called for a quote for two different residences, one which is a single family home and the other is a 4-plex apartment building - i.e. many, many windows! The sales rep, Xavier, didn't show up at the appointment time and didn't call to say he would be very late. I waited over 3 hours calling both the office and the rep's cell phone over 5-6 times with no luck. When I finally got a hold of him the next day (he never returned my missed messages), it turned out that he went to the wrong house across the street because he wrote down the address wrong by one digit! He came the next day to the right address and that was over two weeks ago and I still have not received a quote! I have called both the office and the rep several times and he said that he emailed the quote but I never got it, so I had him spell the email address out and he did have that correct but I never received it! So I asked him to email it again and now it has been another 2 days and I still don't have it! I am completely done wasting my time with this outfit - I don't care how good their product is - if you can't get any customer service at the proposal level, how in the world will it be at the installation level??? read more

When we decided that we wanted to have Hurricane Windows and Sliding Doors installed in our apartment, we set out to find a company to do the job. After speaking to friends and acquaintances who had recently replaced their existing windows with Impact Resistant Windows, we chose four different companies for estimates. Each of the four companies came to our home to speak with us and to measure and give estimates. We were amazed by the differences in the estimates, with one being double the cost of the others. After we met with representatives of the four companies, we finally chose to use SIW Windows and Doors. Our salesman, Paul was very professional in his presentation. He told us about his product, letting us know that SIW manufactures the windows themselves in their own factory. We liked that fact and were very appreciative of Paul's concise and down to earth presentation of what we would need, the cost, and the estimated time to expect until completion. We were able to go to their showroom to see samples of the windows we would be getting. SIW handled getting the necessary permits and our job began on the date that was promised. We were replacing 13 windows and 14 sliders. The workmen did an outstanding job with the installation. They were very respectful of our property and were pleasant to have in our home. We were absolutely amazed by their skill and by how hard they worked. The installation of our windows was completed on time and at the cost that we were quoted. They came when they said they would, redid the stucco better than before, and protected our wood floor and furniture while working. The men were pleasant and efficient. After the scare from CAT 5 Irma we decided to finish the hardening process on our two story townhouse in Delray Beach. We got three bids from local companies. SIW won the bid with the middle price. They won because of the quality of their product, which is made by SIW in their factory in Delray Beach. There were different teams of workers for our project. The impact doors were installed inside our hurricane accordian panels, which we wanted to keep on the house. The workers expertly cut our interior tile floors and concrete block/stucco exterior walls to make the exact opening for the new metal frames. I was amazed at the accuracy of the cutters as they worked over the existing hard building material. The impact doors were installed on the first floor. Then impact windows were installed on the 2nd floor. There was a drywall repair team. There was a stucco repair team, which used a level to square the stucco edges. Since the installation we barely hear vehicle traffic on a nearby major highway and the temperature in our house is greatly reduced. We feel like we will save money in the long run from reduced insurance premiums and lower electric bills from a cooler house. Another wonderful aspect is feeling protected when a major hurricane comes our way. SIW did an excellent job installing 8 new impact windows that look beautiful. All of their employees are extremely friendly and professional and great to work with. They were always on time, and did a fabulous job of keeping our house clean and dust-free during the job. I was really surprised that they were able to remove/replace dining rm. windows without the slightest tear or scratch to our new wallpaper. Such a relief. I had stressed about the job in the weeks before they came as I am a neatness nut (!) so I was thrilled to see the way they treated our home with such care.
