Can't wait to come back!!! Went for lunch on a Tuesday and it was not busy at all. But was assured that dinner service can get quite busy. The atmosphere is really beautiful and the service was great. Only negative regarding the vibe of the restaurant was the music, a Sonos radio station that played good music but also had talking and advertisements which was weird. It was also a bit loud. I really like the lunch menu as it has some standards, at a good prices, a burger, turkey sandwich but might offer a little twist like a fried green tomato BLT or some unique sides like spicy cucumbers or the carrots (those do have a little up charge). We ordered little neck clams with pork belly in a miso broth, bacon wrapped venison with pickled jalapeños and water chestnuts, and fire roasted carrots with Pistachio butter. Our favorites in order were the carrots, clams and venison. We ordered the clams and the venison even though our server suggested the carrots we didn't add those until midway through the other two - so glad we made the addition! The venison was good but thought the ponzu sauce was a bit overpowering but, how exciting to have venison on a menu in WS! The clams were amazing, especially with the miso broth. Broth on a bit of the toasted bread with a sliver of the pork belly is amazing! The pistachio butter carrots though- wow! Also great on some of the toasted bread with a bit of the miso broth. One of our party, who is African-American, was not allowed to even come in to try to find the party. Once we were seated, even though we left his name with the lady at the front. The food was overpriced, and barely edible, if it all edible. It was overly salty, and the recommendations of the waitress were horrible. They would not allow my daughter to order from the kids menu, saying that you had to be under eight, then another waitress allowed us to order from the menu. If I could say worst things I would. Literally the best steaks in Winston! Cooked very differently, their steaks are cooked over and open fire with this very favorable wood fire grill. The drink are FANTASTIC! Great with selection! My bf got the pork chop wasn't really impressed the dish didn't make sense. The service was okay. We got the arugula salad and the whole peanuts on top were a strange choice - $12 for a bed of arugula with some Planters and pickled onion on it? Pass. We got the "Korean Style Pork Short Ribs" that were supposed to come with "miso mash" - they were regular baby back ribs with regular mashed potatoes. They tasted fine, but they were not what was advertised - maybe somebody named Miso made them, unsure. I wanted to get the Duck Gnocchi, but they were out of duck and replacing it with andouille sausage, of all things! Pork and duck - totally interchangeable, sure? I got the NC Trout - it was fine. It came with "arancini," which was just a ball of white rice that had been fried. I thought it was strange that the arancini was just plain white rice with no filling, but okay. We ordered the cheesecake for dessert, but apparently the cheesecakes were still getting "set up and wouldn't be ready for another hour," which was strange to me - we had dinner around 6:30 PM, which is a pretty standard dinner time. Desserts - cheesecake of all things, should be ready by then. ATMOSPHERE Odd. Unsure of what they are going for. Thin, circular pendant lights in one area for a modern feel, I guess. A sectioned off table that gave more of a furniture show room feel in another area. An indoor bar area. Another area that looked like a sushi bar without the sushi. Chaotic playlist - orchestral to bossa nova to Bond theme music - all of varying volumes. SERVICE Open Table was down when we wanted to make a reservation, so we just called directly to do so - which was about a month ago. When we got to the hostess area, they were unable to find our booking. I asked if they were still able to seat us and they said they would be able to after a short wait and took our phone number. The wait was, fortunately, nonexistent so I am unsure of why there was such a go-around with the communication. Our server was enthusiastic and kind. Just okay.... I ordered one of the cocktails and then the waiter told us they couldn't make it because they were out of a syrup for it. No problem. Then we ordered the Demi glaze for the steak and again they were out of it. I wish they would have told us ahead of time what they were out of so we wouldn't get excited for it only to be disappointed. I went here first time by accident looking for another restaurant and when I tell you that was the best accident ever I'm not over exaggerating. The food was so good I only got one picture, I ate through my meals like a feral animal. Appetizer was the Lexington dip burnt ends, and I will dream about them until next time I get them again. The sauce is thin like a salad dressing and it has the best smokey flavor to it. The burnt ends were soft but still crunchy somehow. I will request those on my death bed. The main course can either be one of the 8 already put together courses or you can opt for the a la carte and make your own dish with their meats, sides, and sauce. I decided to opt out of the 8 and do the a la carte. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye with the sweet potato mash and the salted butter. The ribeye was cooked exactly how I requested which rarely happens for me, places usually over cook or under cook so this was perfect. The sweet potato mash reminded me of thanksgiving yams, i absolutely loved it but if you don't want it on the sweeter side then I wouldn't recommend getting it. The salted butter sauce is literally what it says, but it was so delicious to add some to the steak to salten it up. The other plate I ordered was the 8 oz filet with Parmesan fries and the bone marrow butter. Filet was superb, so tender it was melting in your mouth. The Parmesan fries were crunchy with just enough soft potato in the middle. And the bone marrow butter wasn't salty like the other but added a nice rich flavor. I wish I had space for dessert because just looking at the servers walking around with it made my mouth water. Overall I loved this place. The interior is beautifully decorated, the staff was amazing, and the food is to die for. Highly recommend!! read more

As for the service, I have never had a bad experience, in fact, all the servers I've had have been great. Julian was my server one time and he is the in-house sommelier, he made for such a fantastic meal with amazing wine recommendations. And what do we pair with wine, food!. The food has always been spectacular. I believe they have some items that are seasonal, but their roasted carrots are the best carrots I've ever had in my life. I've also had their Wagyu flat iron that was delicious and cooked perfect, but I do wish the plate had a little something on it to take it over the top rather than just a steak. A close friend of mine was in town for an event. It was her first time in Winston-Salem and my first time at Six Hundredº. I booked Saturday evening reservations at the *culinary bar*, which I had never done before either. Now, I may never eat at a "normal" table again. The service, experience, and food was WONDERFUL. From the hostesses greeting us at the front to our enthusiastic waiter, we were welcomed with smiles and positive energy. The menu has something for everyone. Both my friend and my husband ordered the Avocado Salads with Salmon added (per the waiters recommendation) and loved every bite. Here is where dinner became most meaningful and speaks to the impeccable service: I have Celiac Disease so it's essential that my meals be gluten-free and free of cross contamination. I ordered the Little Gem Salad with Ahi Tuna added, no dressing. I requested that the Tuna be as rare as possible. (Yes, I am that kind of patron with my allergy.) Overhearing my order as we sat at the culinary bar next to the grill, the line chef said, "I will barely kiss your tuna to the flame!" It felt like concierge cooking. When my salad arrived, it had dressing on it and the waiter immediately apologized for his mistake with the chef chiming in from the grill. An entire new salad w/Ahi was prepared on the double and tasted twice as delicious. The chef insisted my husband take the extra salad home, which he did and loved it. Mistakes happen at restaurants all the time, but it's how they are rectified that speaks to the true caliber of a restaurant's chef, staff, and management. Restaurant had a great vibe, decor and atmosphere. Good lighting, big cozy bar, friendly staff. Appreciated a trendier spot compared to what we've experienced in the area so far. We stopped in for a very late lunch and had the bartender all to ourselves. Bacon wrapped venison appetizer had really good flavor and was a decent size. Wagyu ribeyes were next. For entree sides, I had the miso mashed potatoes (excellent) and my son had the truffle fries (equally as good). I did think the ribeyes looked small. They were supposed to be 10oz, but appeared to be more like 6oz. Still had great flavor, nice char, and yummy crispy fat. Great date spot, nice work lunch. We went to the restaurant March 16th for our 49th anniversary, based on the reviews we read. It was a meal we won't forget. The 2 good things I can say is that the venue is great, as were the wait staff. We ordered the beet salad and pork belly ends for appetizers. The beet salad was OK, but the presentation was unappetizing, with all the components blended together in a bowl. The pork belly was burned to a crisp, and barely chewable....not recognizable as pork belly. We then waited for an hour for our main course to arrive. The waitress said it was because they had a group of 40 who arrived before us so they had to be served first. We had made the reservation 1 day prior, so they had to know about the group of 40, and their available reservation times should have been adjusted accordingly. When the food arrived, it was not worth the wait. I ordered the venison tenderloin, medium rare, which came with a side of wilted kale and cauliflower. Once again, the plating was unappetizing, with the kale and cauliflower mixed together and by all appearance, thrown on the plate. Like the pork belly, the venison was overcooked and tough, with a barely chewable outer rim of meet, and minimally pink center. My wife had the filet. Hers was cooked better, but like mine, the side was wilted kale and the presentation unappetizing. Needless to say, we didn't have dessert, and have abandoned our plan to take our son and his wife there for their upcoming anniversary. read more

Last night I took my son and my daughter's fiancé to dinner to celebrate both their birthdays. I specifically called two weeks in advance to reserve the farm table, which is the table off by itself surrounded by wine bottles. It's private and unique to the rest of the restaurant. When we arrived, we were told the room was not reserved for us, and another group was using it. I understand mistakes occur and was only mildly irritated, but how the manager handled the situation was poor. Instead of coming out and addressing the issue personally, he sent the waitress to deal with it. She apologized and said the manager was going to provide free desserts for the table, which none of us wanted. So instead, the manager comped us a bread basket. Keep in mind, the manager is walking by our table all night serving food to other tables, but never once stopped by to say anything to us, despite making our disappointment clear. When dinner was over, I stayed back and asked to speak with the manager privately. After 10 minutes he finally came out and asked me what the problem was, as if the waitress hadn't informed him already. I simply explained to him my disappointment in how he handled the issue, told him I would be writing a review and said I hoped he was comfortable with how he handled himself professionally because I was going to write a review that clearly stated the facts of what happened. His response was that he would then go onto Yelp himself and dispute whatever I wrote. No apology, no ownership of the issue, just a dismissive response. I then turned to walk out, and he sarcastically and somewhat loudly told me to have a nice evening. In summary, what was received in exchange for $350 was good food, excellent service by the waitress and a rude and dismissive experience with the manager. Go if you want a decent steak, just hope nothing goes wrong that takes some level of professional conflict resolution. read more

The food was just as stunning as the restaurant itself. Plated to feed your eyes and the taste was even better. Burnt ends were great as a starter, the steak and salmon were cooked to perfection! Dined here on a Friday night and was pleased with the selections offered. The roasted carrots were a tasty treat as a side dish. The salmon served over a huge serving of creamy risotto was very good . Venison tenderloin pieces wrapped w/smoked bacon was a perfect and tender starter . This is a very large restaurant space and perhaps that accounts for the extremely slow food and inattentive table service . Although we had reservations ,there was a 20 min. wait and walk -in wait times were almost 2 hours. May try in the future on a Tuesday but won't be rushing to do that. read more

Visited this restaurant for the first time along with 3 other ladies. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We shared truffle fries to start out and they were delicious (says all of us.) Each of us got a different dish (intentionally) so that we could observe and sample the variety. I was torn between the zucchini lasagna and cornmeal catfish but opted for the lasagna, while one of the other ladies got the catfish. My lasagna was delicious! I also sampled the catfish and it was good also. It was a bit spicy for me; however my friend who ordered it didn't consider it spicy at all and she thoroughly enjoyed it. It was definitely fresh and the squash included with it she reported was very good also. Another lady in our party ordered the eggplant steak. Because it was very interestingly plated and looked good, we all sampled it. It was so good! We couldn't believe how good it was. It not only looked like steak the way it was cooked and presented but it also had a steak flavor. Lastly, the 4th lady in our party ordered the wilted kale and the fresh and funky cucumber salad. Why they included funky in the name, I have no idea (lol!) but our friend said it was interestingly tasty. The kale, on the other hand, wasn't quite a hit. It was kind of bland to me and she said it was just okay. We ended the night with a dessert that for me was a win--it was a mint chocolate type desert (can't remember the name) but as a lover of mint and chocolate, I was pleased! Overall our experience was very good and we were pleased with the food choices. We were excited that we tried some new dishes that were actually very good. Our server Ethan was very helpful in describing the dishes and helping us decide. He was also very pleasant, polite, and patient. The ambiance in the restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing also. To top it off as we were leaving we stood outside trying to take group pictures and apparently the sweet hostess at the front door saw the struggle and out of nowhere came outside to the rescue. I had the pokchop special with a attempted "mole" inspired sauce...it was PINK! And somehow flavorless.
