    the bar

This is one of the nicer bars in the Winston downtown area and somewhere we frequent, especially when we have someone visiting us and we want to show them around! We have tried many of their drinks- both their own creations and classic drinks, like a dirty martini. There's something for everyone here. They make everything so well and the vibes are impeccable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is very high end, not too loud, and their balcony is also nice and open.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sometimes, when it's busy the service can be a little slow, but that's not unique. We've already been back multiple times and will continue to visit!

This could very well be my new favorite cocktail bar in Winston! I loved every single thing about it. We had reservations on Valentine's Day at Tuscani so decided to pop in for a drink beforehand. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at the bar but there's plenty of seating throughout which is very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a THC mocktail and my husband ordered the banana old fashioned. We were both shocked by how good our drinks were. I ended up ordering another cocktail off of their Valentine's Day menu and that drink was phenomenal as well. Our bartender was prompt and friendly and [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love how brightly lit the space is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just all around a great experience and we will be back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wow! Want a fun spot with a sleek, modern vibe? Dutch Light nails it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tucked upstairs with a killer patio overlooking the park, this place sets the mood perfectly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The outdoor seating is comfy and stylish, the kind of spot you could settle into for hours with friends or a date.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped in for a few drinks before dinner at the new restaurant below, and it could not have been a better choice. Wren, our bartender, was outstanding--full of energy, sharp personality, and serious mixology skills. Every cocktail she put in front of us was balanced, creative, and delicious. Honestly, we'd come back again and again just for her drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere hit that perfect pre-dinner sweet spot--lively but not chaotic, modern without feeling pretentious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dutch Light is the kind of place you want in your rotation whether you're starting the night, enjoying a weekend patio session, or just sipping a crafted cocktail with a view.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Shame on me. I can't believe I waited this long to visit The Dutch Light. It is now my favorite spot in downtown. Was meeting a friend to get caught up and this place is the perfect spot. Was immediately greeted by staff upon entering. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe and decor is welcoming, warm yet modern, extremely tasteful and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed a glass of wine and charcuterie, both of which were very good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The layout is very conducive to any desired setting by providing indoor/outdoor, mid-sized conversational, dining and bar seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view over Bailey Park is a bonus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My music bingo group has been meeting up weekly for years mostly at various breweries but we all decided Dutch Light is our new SPOT. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful venue! Dim, cozy, yet stylish with loads of space so no one feels crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff provide excellent customer service and the drink menu / specials are very fresh! I tried a French 75 for the first time on NYE and I think I have a new signature drink! The best part is they also serve small bites so it's perfect for everyone, even non-drinkers. See y'all there soon!

This was my second time visiting the Dutch light. My second experience was much better. I ordered a vesper and it was made perfectly, unlike the time before. The bartenders moved with purpose and were pleasant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is nice for a group outing or a girl's night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Happy to find this spot near 4th street in downtown Winston Salem. Hasn't been there too long but has established a solid spot in the area. Drinks are of course made to order with many options available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice low lit location that gives you a speakeasy vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I went to this location after work for a gathering with colleagues. This was lovely bar and lounge located in downtown Winston across from Bailey Park. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was laid back and they have a beautiful menu of cocktails and mock tails to choose from.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The appetizers were delicious. The service was great! Would recommend checking it out.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great new spot in downtown WS. I love the vibes and decor here, and the outside seating when the weather is nice is going to be so enjoyable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drink menu is creative, fun, and sober-friendly. I came on a Wednesday night around 9pm for a nightcap and had their seasonal caramel old fashioned with a marshmallow cold foam and it was amazing. I easily could have had 2 more but I was really interested in trying one of the sparkling wines, so I switched to the Pet Mout Pet Nat Rose and it was delicious too. A bit pricier for drinks, but worth it for the flavor and strength!

We were very excited for The Dutch Light to open in Bailey Power Plant! The space is gorgeous and has a dark green aesthetic with modern fixtures and a very pleasant vibe. For my cocktail I chose the seasonal Apple Pickin' I thought overall the cocktail was good not great. It was a whiskey sour riff and had egg whites however the cocktail didn't take on the velvety smooth texture or have the fantastic foam you expect with egg whites. However, the flavor of the cocktail was well balanced. As far as the service all the staff were very friendly. However, it was evident some lacked bar tending experience and I somewhat attributed that to the lack of proper shake for the egg whites. Additionally, the cocktail prices while not outrageous, were definitely on the higher end compared to other Winston establishments. All in all this place is new and there space is awesome but in regards to drinks there are definitely kinks to work out. Excited to see them improve!

Overall, very good service and solid cocktails. I believe our bar tenders name was Gwen but I'm not totally sure. She was cool and accommodating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went on a Friday night after dinner and things were just starting to pick it up. It was busy but not overly crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My only feedback that didn't really impact my experience was that the lighting is kind of weird in there.... I think we got there right during a transitional mood lighting switch but it still wasnt quite right.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My other VERY small nit pick was that we ordered the veggie plate and it was kind of funny how such a small amount of food (reflected in the price) was spread out in this extremely large serving bowl/tray. I would probably use a much smaller tray so that it doesn't look like such a sparse amount of food when its presented. Just my two cents.

    The interior is beautiful.

We went here at opening during the week. There were a handful of people and feeling like it is definitely still working out it's intricacies. The drinks are some of the most expensive in Winston. Are they worth the price? The jury is out on that and I am uncertain how that will play out over time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is spot on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I do wonder how the tvs will impact the vibe though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

On the second floor of the Bailey Park "adult fun area" is The Dutch Light, a new cocktail, wine, and beer bar. They have ample seating and cool ambiance to go with a fairly large menu. Try the seasonal items; we enjoyed the Fall offerings such as the Aper-Fall spritz, Apple Pickin, and Smashing Pumpkins. A good assortment of mocktails round out the experience for just about anyone.

We had 35 guests. The room had just the right amount of seating for groups of people to visit with each other comfortably. The restroom was conveniently upstairs. We had two bartenders taking GREAT CARE of us the entire time! I really cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was at Joyner's Bar! If we put on another social gathering, we will definitely rent their space and order their catering again. The open bar was a nice touch everyone appreciated! MOST SINCERELY!

I would recommend spending a few extra dollars and going to a bar that takes customer safety more…read moreseriously. In my experience, this wasn't a place where I felt safe. My husband was assaulted inside the bar, and the people responsible left before police arrived. To make matters worse, we were told the cameras only livestream and do not record, which was incredibly frustrating because it meant there was no recorded footage available to help identify the people involved. Everyone deserves to enjoy a night out without worrying about their safety. Based on our experience, I would choose a bar with better security measures and recorded surveillance instead.

I actually found I liked this place much better for many reasons. Much more room as far as tables and bar area go. Great atmosphere and better service. Also come take a look at this bar... it's awesome! I love the wood they use throughout the restaurant and just the feel of the place is classy. You can get your sage and salt food here too plus they have a fantastic raw bar here. A terrific drinks menu and a pretty amazing wine list. Also take in the wine cellar when you walk in. Not many places in Winston have one like that. They have wine by the glass on the menu but ask for that wine list it's pretty nice. We got a bottle of the petit Syrah recommended by their wine guy who came and asked us what we wanted and came up with the bottle with our price point. This bottle will be in my to find list as it was really good and smooth and went with our meal so well. Not bad for the $70. We tried the bread service which comes with good butter, tapenade and a tomato Pesto. Loved the crunchy whole grain! Nice cornbread too and a white bread. Also the crunchy twice battered fries are a must! So they have several types of oysters, we went with four different ones out fantastic server Katherine talked about. These were all served on ice with cocktail sauce, hot sauce, lemon, mignonette and a hot mustard . Each one was so different. Loved each one and they were all kinda meaty. Even the smaller shell ones. They were shucked perfectly and we had little to do but dress them up and slurp them ! Most are North Carolina oysters and they have a nice variety. Enjoyed this course very much! They also have a skewers menu with some meat, fish and veggie options. This was fun to pick out ... we tried the octopus and the special of the day was the swordfish so that sounded really good. These were also another hit on the palate. The octopus was cooked well and I feel like they gave us a little extra :)... swordfish was so good, had a citrus marinade and pickled onions and an avocado mousse. Nice flaky fish. Loved these skewers. We rounded it all off with the caramel cheesecake which was of course awesome. Creamy, great crust, solid slice, with a caramel drizzle and citrus and mint on top. Couldn't ask for a better end. Well except for those espresso martinis! The Station was a total surprise and one I shall be returning to . They have live music on Friday and Saturday, would recommend reservations those nights. You have to call sage and salt for reservations... it's a little confusing as there isn't really a website for The station. Great meal our first time. you definitely taste the freshness.
