I ate here with my boyfriend about a week ago. I live a block away and pass it constantly so we've wanted to try for a while. Mind you, we are not kosher we were just impressed with the delicious looking menu and the good reviews that I'd read. We were not disappointed at all! All the staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and both left absolutely stuffed. The menu mentioned that they had a "Montreal style smoked meat sandwich". I am sad to report that this did not taste anything close to a Montreal smoked meat sandwich. Food okay. Server was wearing her mask over her chin, not her nose or mouth and just smiled and shrugged when we pointed it out. Ordered take out instead because we no longer felt safe. Yum! This place is the spot to be at. Food was fantastic. It was fresh and portions were substantial. Even better was the service! Dennis, our waiter, was friendly and accommodating. For starters I'm not a meat Saturday night, kind of guy but it was definitely worth it. From the starters to the main and the cocktails in between. We were attended to. Wait for it... the best part was we mentioned we were going to split our dish and Dennis brought it to the table on 2 separate plates, with double sides and "fixings", come on that's worth a 6th star!! Amazing restaurant gorgeous Decour an incredible menu. Not only is it an excellent kosher restaurant, but it competes against the best in the country. Certainly better than anything on pico Boulevard in Los Angeles. The Decore, and the interesting menu items, make for a really great dining experience. You look around the restaurant and you see many chasid Jews, but also many businessman in soon ties were not visibly orthodox, enjoying the food, beer, sports on TV, and the overall dinning experience. read more

This review is about the food. The location is fine. The service is fine, the staff is nice. The restaurant is clean, there's ample parking. But the food is simply bad. The wings were dry and over fried. The salad i got was a joke. I could have picked better lettuce out of the trash. My husband had the short rib with potatoes. The sauce was weird, the rib was tasteless. All in all, i get nauseous just thinking about the gross food and the amount i paid for it... do not go here for anything but to use the bathroom on your way to a better restaurant. read more

We used to come down from New Haven often, and really loved this place. Lately it has become more and more disappointing - the food is often super salty and the service is slow, even when the place isn't full. The chili is still a total winner, as is the schnitzel dish but I would give it a miss unless you're passing through. Such a shame as it was really great to start! read more

I've been stopping by this place for an early dinner and drinks when I travel through yearly for the last few years. I was so disappointed this time around. We walked in just after 4pm and sat at the bar. They've discontinued happy hour which is a bummer, but we didn't find that out until the bill came. The one woman working(besides the owners?) from 4-5 was an absolute mess. Hovered until we made a decision, couldn't answer questions, struggled with the wine selection, etc. We had to ask for menus, silver, and worse once we were sorted she disappeared and wasn't even attentive to refilling our wine. The food was fine (the kitchen messed up the order originally), but very basic -- essentially pub food. At 5pm several other people appeared to join the staff (no uniform or dress code so it was unclear to us) but it was never clear who was talking care of us. We just started asking anyone we saw. What I assume was the GM was friendly (set himself up at the end of the bar with a laptop) and tried his best to nudge the untrained staff along, but it just wasn't enough. The total for the bill ("pretzels", fries, small salad w/ chicken, burger and 6 glasses of wine) was nearly 160 bucks!!! After seeing our shock the GM did comp a glass of wine, but at this point the whole experience had put us off. I can only assume this place won't be open when we make it to town next year since it has gone downhill so quickly, but even if it is open, we'll head somewhere else. You should probably do the same! read more

Really a Stamford gem. One of our more guidebook worthy restaurants we have in this small city. They have added a lot of menu items. They still have the fancy bistro fare to match the atmosphere. But It really doesn't get any better than them for gourmet deli sandwiches and oldschool kosher/Jewish fare. Their pastrami is house cured. Their house corned beef is so good that I can't stop ordering it--and I didn't even like corned beef previously! You can get pulled brisket as a topping for a hamburger. So decadent and good. Their expanded dessert menu is dreamy. Chocolate bourbon pie? Super fresh soft baked cookies? Yum. The best thing is they now do takeaway shabbat specials from their new deli counter. They sell takeaway beef bacon, fresh deli meats, and their own different sausage flavors. Just a great vibe. I no longer have to drive down to New York to get proper deli food. And their bar is pretty nice, especially in the winter by the fireplace. read more

I wasn't sure if it would be worth the visit, but boy was I impressed! Ate dinner here for my birthday. Simple menu, simply delicious, I was not disappointed! I've been to more restaurants in Stamford then I can count, and have yet to find a restaurant that I'd go back to - this is the place! Finally. My husband and I spent some time in Connecticut in January and ate here twice. It was so good both times that we decided to come again today from NY; it was worth the drive (just about 45 minutes). Food, service, choices, ambiance--all were wonderful. The server took the time to answer all our questions, made suggestions (which we followed--BTW, he suggested an item cheaper than the one I originally asked about!) and was pleasant and just the right degree of attentive. Came in for lunch while passing through the area. I'm from NYC, and even by our standards, this was one of the best kosher dining experiences I've ever had. I literally can't think of a single complaint about this restaurant. The setting is very modern and sets a great mood. All the food was exemplary. My family and I have been to this establishment multiple times and have enjoyed the experience. Although a bit pricey, the food is good and the staff have been friendly. It's for these reasons that I made a reservation at this restaurant for Mother's Day brunch. At the time that I made the reservation, I was not told that on Mother's Day they would only have a buffet available between 11AM and 3PM. The buffet was woefully disappointing. The omelette station was adequate, however, the rest of the selection was extremely limited. There was no salad/vegetables, no fruit, and only one type of dessert available. The eggs benedict looked like it was made several days ago. No drinks, including coffee and tea, were included in the price of the brunch. I feel like the establishment took advantage of the holiday to gouge costumers. read more

613 is amazing. We stayed in Stamford for a wedding weekend and ate every meal at this restaurant. First off I was amazed by the decor and effort that was put into the dining experience. Acoustic panels and glass partitions separate the dining areas to ensure you can hear the people you are dining with and not the people at the bar. There is a beautiful outdoor dining area with a fire place. The manager is highly Profesional, warm, friendly and accommodating. The food is delicious! We even had breakfast here and they had the most crunchy and tasty huge portions of beef bacon. I would move to Stamford to be closer to 613. I live on the upper west side and work in Brooklyn and this is one of the best kosher eating experiences I've ever had. This is the second and last time I, or any member of my family, will eat here. Like the first time, it took over 15 minutes for a waiter to come over after we sat down and were given menus. When the food came I was given the wrong dish, when I told the waiter, he insisted that he got it right and walked away, not even offering to get me what I wanted. Oh, I failed to mention that this is 40 minutes after we ordered. My son ordered the $35 rib eye. It was bland and tasteless. Cooked well, but zero seasoning. All in, this is a perfect example of a restaurant that has no competition and a captive market and does not care about the quality of its food or service. Food is good, some dishes a bit better than good. Service is awful. We had to wait to be seated, for the waiter to take our order and an interminable amount of time to get the bill. Some dishes were brought out with items inexplicably missing: Onions from a burger, mustard that was supposed to be spread on a deli sandwich. No ketchup even though all three diners were having fries. Once we finally did get the bill, nobody bothered to return to pick up my CC so I had to walk it over to the guy at the front. We eat at 613 on a semi-regular basis. Its a bit of a shlep, but worth it. The restaurant is clean. Nothing fancy, mind you, just nice, basic, restaurant. Easy parking. Staff is friendly and attentive. The food is uniformly good to excellent. My red meat is king husband actually loves the chicken. But we've tried most things on the menu, and enjoyed just about everything. Highly recommended. read more

I've been here before (around grand opening) and the portion were tiny (for dinner). I went for lunch yesterday, and was pleased. Great value for the meal. The Turkey sandwich with beef fry was very good. On two large pieces of French bread with lettuce and tomato the chipotle mayo and turkey was delicious. I asked for a dip for the fries and the chef made up an herbed dip that was delicious. I would definitely go for lunch again! read more

Called in an order for a pastrami on rye with mustard and matza ball soup. Menu says served in 10 minutes with a pickle and Cole slaw. I had to wait 10 minutes when I arrived 15 minutes later. The pastrami was grilled and bread toasted. I did not order a hot pastrami and was not given the option of hot or cold. There was no pickle. $10 matza ball soup was tatstless and 6 to 8 ounces at most. $11 pastrami sandwich was hard thick sliced and overly salty. Worst lunch in months. read more

We frequent restaurants regularly...this is not a restaurant for families... we went there about 6:30 on a Tuesday with my 3 kids and my 15 month year old. Glen approached our table introduced himself as the owner. He asked us to leave! we already ordered our food. The waiter servicing us was very apologetic. Not looking for an altercation we left to another restaurant....I forgot to mention he charged our credit card and didn't even pack up our food....as we were leaving we saw that the food was being placed on the table...you may ask why? First time at Six Thirteen since it opened as a successor to Kosh. Really solid overall experience. While the menu is somewhat narrow all dishes were well received by our group of five. Salad, Lentil soup and Israeli plate appetizers were all good. Short ribs , chicken dishes and dinner salad were all well prepared, tastefully plated and arrived at the same time. The smashed potatoes and quinoa sides were excellent. Carrot cake and pineapple desert were also very good. Wine list is currently narrow but fairly priced. Mixed drinks are interesting and reasonably priced. We found the service to be attentive, knowledgeable and courteous. All in all it was a great start to a new beginning and we look forward to returning soon. A select few more appetizers, main courses and a chocolate desert added to the menu and this place will be good to go. Tremendous potential to be a leading kosher restaurant in the tri- state area.
