Do not rent a car from this place. I don't know if it's the company or this specific location, but they are unreliable and useless. I made a reservation for a car one week in advance and a little over an hour before we were to pick up the car I got an email saying the reservation couldn't be fulfilled and was canceled, with no explanation and of course no one to talk to. I booked a BMW Z4 with SIXT Beverly Hills on 11 October 2025. On 16 October, I received an email from their agent confirming that my request was "still in process." I was told I'd receive final confirmation once the vehicle's availability was verified. After almost three weeks of silence, my reservation was suddenly declined on 30 October, without any explanation or communication. I planned my trip around this booking and trusted SIXT as a global company. Instead, I was left without a car and with much higher rental prices -- the same class that was $64/day when I booked is now $104/day. What makes it worse is that I had another SIXT booking at LAX Airport (29 Nov - 7 Dec) which was instantly approved. That shows this problem is specific to the Beverly Hills branch, which appears to be poorly managed and completely unresponsive. When I contacted SIXT support via WhatsApp on 1 November, the agent said there were "no available cars" and that no compensation was possible because my rate was "flexi." That doesn't justify why my reservation was kept "in process" for almost three weeks. If cars weren't available, I should have been informed immediately -- not after 19 days. This branch's lack of transparency and communication feels unethical and gives the impression that cars are held until they can be rented to someone else at a higher rate. Whether or not that's true, the customer experience is unacceptable. I've filed a formal complaint with SIXT's head office and will share my experience publicly to warn other travelers. I had a car booked with Sixt and called a week in advance to confirm availability. During that call, I asked three separate times whether I would have a car at pickup even though I had not received a confirmation email and was reassured each time that I would. I was told that if the exact make and model wasn't available, a similar vehicle size would be provided. Despite this, the booking was cancelled minutes before pickup while on my way to the office. Calls are recorded and I provided the case number, but Sixt head office has refused to take responsibility or offer meaningful compensation, offering only $15 off my next hire. Cancelling at the last possible moment after providing repeated reassurance left me with no reasonable alternative and caused unnecessary disruption. I have since used another provider (Enterprise), and they went above and beyond to help me out. A little customer support can go a long way. read more

Before he took the car out of the parking lot, he realized it wasn't going to work for him as it wasn't what he initially ordered but was talked into another car. The agent was polite and said he understood , told him no problem, he would cancel the transaction. I saw on the credit card that he was charged. I called the rental store and left a message on the voice mail. No one returned the car. We disputed the charge with the credit card company and the charge was reversed. They did research and recognized it was an error and said they would refund-couple weeks later-no refund. I dispute with cc company and they respond to dispute that we had the car for 2 months (AFTER ALREADY ADMITTING WE DIDNT AND IT WAS AN ERROR ON THEIR END!) so cc company won't refund now! Go into branch and they also claim it was an error on their end and the employee we returned it to even remembers us and confirmed!! Got an email from manager stating the car was returned after 2 weeks and he would remediate the problem and after another month of texts and saying he had to escalate this to a dept in Germany, finally a refund was approved, that was over 3 weeks and NO REFUND STILL. This is $4000 that we don't owe (total was over $5000 and I have no problem aging what's owed for the actual rental but the exact refund is $3906.07!!!!!!!) no one can help. No one has answers. Don't call back when they say. I literally have documentation that they admitted fault and still can't get $4000 back!!!!!!!!! Booked a car for my mom, showed up at the exact time of my booking and they did not have a car for us. They didn't have the model that I reserved, nor did they have anything similar (small or medium size). They offered me a 3 row suv, which my mom is not comfortable driving. They were unable to tell me if any of the other SixT locations would have a car that I reserved, because their system is not centralized. We had to drive all the way to LAX from Beverly Hills. The entire way there (45 mins) I was on the phone with sixt customer service to try and transfer my reservation to the LAX location, which they just couldn't accomplish for whatever reason. So I had to go into the branch and make a new reservation on the spot. So instead of picking up a rental next to our place, I was forced to spend almost three hours dealing with sixt in person/on the phone and drive all over town to get a car that I booked. I rented a vehicle from the Beverly Hills location on La Cienega Blvd. on 2/2/23 with a return date of 2/5/23 at 12:30 pm. On Sunday 2/5/23, I dropped off the vehicle at 12:30 pm at the same location. The thief that received the key (same one that rented the vehicle to me) took the Key and told me that my final invoice would be emailed to me within the hour and the deposit returned within 48 hrs. Since I was in a hurry to take my daughter to an appointment, I didn't think much of the situation and left the location as my wife was already waiting for me outside to go to our appointment. I went about my business for the rest of the day. Obviously they never sent me my final invoice. Monday came and went and on Tuesday morning I wake up to an email from Sixt inquiring as to the status of the rental as the records indicated the vehicle was two days late. I contacted their customer service via telephone immediately and their team member told me not to worry about this situation and that she would email the store to email me my final invoice. I went to work and given my busy schedule, did not think about the final invoice at all. It wasn't until Tuesday at approximately 8:00 pm that I received the final invoice. Not only did the invoice show that the car was returned late with and additional charge of ~$500 on top of the original bill, but it was returned to their LAX location that Tuesday at 7:48 pm. I immediately tried to contact their customer service via telephone but they asked me to call back the next morning. I also submitted multiple disputes via email and I keep receiving random generic replies that their team is going to investigate. I've also submitted a dispute through my credit card company as this was obviously a fraudulent transaction from a thief or thieves working at these locations using their employer's vehicles at the expense of their customers. I want to believe that the location has cameras on site and they will be able to confirm that the vehicle was returned to their location at the agreed upon time. I also want to believe that the company is going to do the right thing and refund me the additional charges; however, management needs to conduct a thorough investigation on the Beverly Hills location and take the appropriate measures. To think that they were driving a car around and could have totaled the car, committed a crime, or killed someone while appearing to be "driven by me" makes me sick to my stomach. I rent vehicles on a regular basis from other providers and never had any problems until now. This is wrong in every way and someone needs to be held responsible asap. If you need to rent from these thieves, be extremely careful....they will try to get you into more expensive vehicles and take a larger deposit from you because "this is a more expense vehicle". But most importantly, DO NOT, but DO NOT, leave the store until they've closed you and handed you your final invoice. I am a Travel Agent for AAA Minneapolis and rent out vehicles for Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty and have never had a client come to me saying they received a unauthorized cleaning charge on their credit card. Also Sixt has incredible cars for about the same price as the local agencies will give you a regular car. I'm especially amazed by the quality of the cars since there is such a shortage these days of rental cars following Covid 19 and the selloff of so many cars by the companies. This branch delivered exactly what I reserved, and they did it with a smile. On the return of my car when I was a little late they were understanding about the freeway traffic jam. Unacceptable. I made a reservation online to pick up a car today for a weekend road trip. When I arrived to Sixt, the representative was nice enough and the car arrived in a reasonable amount of time. But this is where the good stuff ends. The car I received, a Volvo S90, was in absolutely terrible shape. The interior smelled like smoke, the trunk smelled like someone died in it, the seats were dirty, and the tires were severely underinflated. Meanwhile, the four (FOUR) car attendants right next to me just kept loitering, not one decided to come over and ask me if I had any problems or needed some help. As I was driving home, I noticed I couldn't see clearly out of most of the windows. Using the defogger did not help at all. It was a rough drive home. I brought it home and got to work, cleaning the interior, reinflating the tires, and cleaning the windows. The filth in the interior was so bad it browned two microfiber towels (pictures will be included here). I have never extracted so much dirt from a car using simple towels and water before - this was disgusting. The tires were at 22 (!!) PSI. That is low enough to be dangerous, particularly because I plan to drive the car into below-freezing temperatures over the weekend in the mountains, and this could've been disastrous. Sixt - do you really want a lawsuit on your hands? Take care of your cars! Finally, the windows/windshield were covered in some sort of sap/resin that had simply been smeared onto the entire surface by lazy car washers. I had to use a degreaser to clean all the windows in order for them to be safe again. This isn't just poor service, it's flat out unsafe. read more

THE Best experience renting a car in my life, period. I don't know why you'd use any other car rental company like enterprise, hertz, etc if you have Sixt in the same town. You can get the same exact cars at Sixt for half the price! Yet they are like new and incredibly well maintained. Better yet, you can get a high end performance car for the same price that you get a Toyota Corolla at the traditional rental companies. And Sixt is also considered a public company, so car insurance companies cover them! The customer service is also unparalleled. I went to Sixt literally the same week after being treated like trash at LAX Hertz (who also arranged for their car to be stolen from me to get insurance money, which was confirmed by police and the main customer service hotline). Then I come to Sixt and get treated like a king! They had a slight confusion with models initially, so I was contacted directly by their manager Suzanne, who worked with me extensively to find a car that I liked and price matched me into the most expensive model they had (MSRP over $120K!!). She also gave me her direct line so I could contact her at any time. And even though the main Sixt customer service did not honor the discount at first, she followed through on her offer, got me the refund, and I actually ended up paying even less than I was supposed to, and for a car that was twice the price of the one I originally booked! Just unbelievable. Suzanne is a true master artist of her craft. A huge pleasure dealing with such a competent and honorable person. I rented a convertible , prepaid , only to get to the location to find out that A) even though I prepaid with a debit card they don't accept debit cards for luxury vehicles and B) when I have them a credit card they didn't actually have the car they had already charged me for. I rented a car and when I went to pick the car up they told me they rented it to someone else. I needed a car that day so was told that a different branch had cars available but it would be a completely different rental agreement. The new rental had damage to it when I picked it up. I saw this thinking ok they know about this but I will just take some photos and a video to cover myself. When I dropped off the car the lady asked me about the damage saying it was not on their record. I told her I had photos and that the damage was there when I picked it up. I am now getting hounded from the damage department saying that I caused the damage and that I am liable for the repair costs. My husband tried to get her to break down the fees but she said he needed to talk to me. I signed and was on my way. Reviewed the bill and the BMW car was $40 per day more, totally the $160 she said would be less on the overall bill. She never indicated it was an upgrade.
