I've rented from SIXT several times and they've been consistently excellent. Their vehicles are always new, clean, and in great condition. On this trip, I reserved a Toyota Corolla, but they upgraded me to a GMC Terrain SUV at no extra charge without me even asking. Their prices have also been lower than many other rental car companies, which makes the experience even better. The only thing I wish is that they had more locations, because I'd choose them every time if they did. Highly recommended! read more

Rented back in March of 2026, car was a cheap Corolla, was dirty, streaky windows, whoever they have checking these cars out sucks!, anyways when I returned my car they claimed I had damaged the rim and bumper, even though the car already had dings and scratches, i have rented from Sixt numerous times and had been a customer for years, BUT THIS IS THE LAST TIME, never will I rent from Sixt again, I ended up going through my credit card for insurance and they paid the claim, what a scam, they quoted $1,300+ in damages, contacted customer service for all this and they said "it's up to Sixt if they decide to have the cars repaired" what a joke, if you do decide to rent a car make sure you take a thorough video! I would give zero stars if I could. I had a PREPAID reservation at 4pm on Thanksgiving Day last year. I got there an hour early to make sure I'm not stuck without a travel vehicle for the long holiday weekend. When I got there the rep whose name tag said THE Juan (already an indication of the level of professionalism and maturity culture at this store) told me that the vehicle class I booked was no longer available and I would have to pay more to get the next class up. He was upselling me! I told him that he's supposed to upgrade the class (which later was confirmed by the manager and all of the Sixt customer service reps I spoke too). I even offered to be downgraded since I don't need anything fancy. He refused and said there was nothing he could do because I booked through a third party. I said it doesn't matter how I booked but he kept dismissing me and told me to call customer service. I asked to speak to a manager but he said there wasn't one available. So not wanting to be loud in the phone inside, I went outside and called. The walls and door are glass so he had a clear view of me the entire time and he was in and out assisting other customers and he could see me every time he passed me. Customer service hung up on me 3 times and time was running out so I went back inside and was willing to pay the upgrade fee that he kept pressing me to do. Then he says because I left he gave the last car away. He saw me in the phone with customer service the entire time! So here I was with no vehicle for Thanksgiving weekend and we were supposed to go spend the holiday with family out of town. Being Thanksgiving day, no other company would be open. THE Juan threatened to call the manager (all of a sudden the manager was available) and the cops and proceeded to throw me out of the store. The following day I spoke to the manager Nathaniel, who was equally as dismissive as THE Juan. I called Sixt and Travelocity multiple times and they both kept pointing fingers at each other saying the other owes me the refund. As it turns out, a manager was supposed to be on duty, which makes sense because THE Juan clearly couldn't be left alone. Maybe the manager wanted to have an early start to his holiday but that decision left me and my family stranded. After dozens of calls to both Sixt and Travelocity I didn't get anywhere so I disputed the $300 charge with my credit card company and only now got the refund but only as a dispute. Not an actual refund from Sixt or Travelocity. But it's March now so it took 3 months to get this resolved. The audacity of THE Juan to try to upsell me and because I didn't fall for his scam. He flat out refused to give me a vehicle I already paid for. And the audacity to treat me like a non paying customer because I booked through a third party. About 80% of customers book through third party websites but he wanted that upsell really bad. Maybe he had a goal to reach by the end of the month but that's not the customer's problem. I used to rent a lot from this store but never again. One of the times I picked up a vehicle i had to turn around because the tire had a nail in it. That was inconvenient but I didn't complain because I'm sure it was an innocent oversight. But what THE Juan did was unacceptable. We didn't get to spend the holiday as planned just because he really wanted a couple of dollars worth of upsell. read more

I made the mistake of renting from this place and not understanding that they rent cars to be used in California and Nevada ONLY. After realizing this, I returned the car within minutes. After contacting them about reimbursement, they did not refund me any of the money, even thought technically I only had the car for maybe 20 minutes. They could have charged for a single full day, and that would have been fine, but nothing: full charge for 5 days. Also, they have a $500 deductible, which they didn't return to my account until 3+ weeks later when I contacted them about that was well. Shady dealings. Any money you may save isn't worth the risk. I'll try to make this as short as possible but how short can you really make a 6 month battle to get back $4000 you were wrongfully charged! So, brother in law and husband rented car end of February-2 week rental. Returned car after 2 weeks and everything is good (so we thought) 2 months later (in May!) I get a charge for over $5000. After a month of run around and refusal to provide any documentation, they say we didn't return the car for 2 months and left it in Salt Lake City?! Whaaaat??? It was returned to the studio city location we got it from exactly 2 weeks after picking it up!!! They did research and recognized it was an error and said they would refund-couple weeks later-no refund. I dispute with cc company and they respond to dispute that we had the car for 2 months (AFTER ALREADY ADMITTING WE DIDNT AND IT WAS AN ERROR ON THEIR END!) so cc company won't refund now! Go into branch and they also claim it was an error on their end and the employee we returned it to even remembers us and confirmed!! Got an email from manager stating the car was returned after 2 weeks and he would remediate the problem and after another month of texts and saying he had to escalate this to a dept in Germany, finally a refund was approved, that was over 3 weeks and NO REFUND STILL. This is $4000 that we don't owe (total was over $5000 and I have no problem aging what's owed for the actual rental but the exact refund is $3906.07!!!!!!!) no one can help. No one has answers. Don't call back when they say. I literally have documentation that they admitted fault and still can't get $4000 back!!!!!!!!! Paying interest on the card every month Becuase I don't have money to pay it down!! STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! She told me that the reservation will be after all $160 more not $34 so basically my $150 reservation that I just made online would turn to a $344 !!!! How's that possible !!!? And then if that's not enough when I asked to cancel they told me that I wouldn't be able to do it and that I would be charge for the full price !! Julian was wonderful and such a good vibe. It's been around 5 years since I last rented a car and boy have things changed. You need a credit card now to get a vehicle ... I haven't owned a credit card in 20 years ... so had to pay a 100 dollar debit card fee (non-refundable) to get a car. Would be super helpful if there was a warning on booking with all this information that pops up. I expected to pay a deposit that would later be returned to me but that was definitely a hiccup. UGH. I rented a car via mobile that said "unlimited miles" and I make sure to read everything while reviewing what I selected. At the end there is a big red reservation button and a tiny little asterisk * that says by clicking accept I agree I have read our terms and conditions. So who reads that stuff? esp on mobile. Regardless, turns out I can't drive it where I'm going due to "territory restrictions." So basically my "unlimited miles" car is only "unlimited miles within certain states" which is such a bait and switch. All they have to do is be UPFRONT and say "Unlimited Miles within certain areas" or "Additional mileage out of state may apply" and I would have NOT rented this car. Then they wanted to keep 3 days worth of a $1000.00 car rental. ARE YOU KIDDING? Then they did me a "favor" and only charged me a cancellation fee of $75. I guess they don't mind losing customers left and right. Guy on the phone had the nerve to say "I hope you won't let this stop you from renting from us again." LMAO. I wish I could give them less than 1 star. To start, it's impossible to get help on the phone. Even trying find a phone number on their website was like mining for gold. More importantly, this company needs to be investigated for customer fraud. Yes...F-R-A-U-D!!!! A few weeks back, I had to change my cc# because it was comprised. I later called Sixt to modify a reservation and mentioned I had a new cc. The operator told me I wouldn't be able to pickup my car because my new cc# no longer matched. She said I had to cancel my current reservation for $272 and make a new reservation for the same amount, and then they would refund me my original amount. She said if I waited until pickup, the desk agents would cancel my reservation and rebook potentially for a higher rate. Why so complicated? Why couldn't she just change my cc# right then? So I asked her to wait a moment on the phone while I made a new reservation. My new reservation for the SAME EXACT CAR was $60 less. She responded that was too low and I needed to find a reservation for the same amount as before or higher. Otherwise they wouldn't refund me. I told her Sixt could keep the difference - just pay back $213 but she said no but she said that I needed to read the contract terms better next time. So basically, I would have to pay more to pick up the same car waiting for me just because my cc# was stolen and I had to have it replaced. How f**ked up is that? These people are nuts. Honestly, how many people have had to change the cc# prior to a car pickup? And why are putting up so may roadblocks to helping customers? I'll never use Sixt Car ever again. This is a very poorly run company and branch. We had a reservation pick-up time at 7:00 P.M, and took an Uber to get to the location by 7:00 P.M. We arrived at 7:02-7:05 P.M to pick up the car, and found out that their reservation system locks at 7:00 P.M. Time out though, if there is an availability to pick up a car at a certain time, why would the system lock? Either offer the latest pick-up time at 6:30 before the systems lock, OR have the system lock after the latest pick-up time. The representative who tried to help us suggested that we can go to their 24-hour LAX location to retrieve a rental, or we can wait until the next morning to pick up a car at 7:00 AM. No thanks, why would I want to continue to do business with you? You wasted my time and my money to go to a branch and speak to a representative who was unhelpful, and tried to downplay the situation. We also had a hard time trying to cancel the reservation, and the company wanted to charge us an additional rate on top of the reservation we had already paid for. What!! Steer away from Sixt, and find a more reliable, honest company to work with. read more

The location is very clean and they have quite a bit of cars in their inventory, don't let the small size fool you they do have a satellite lot. Lastly, every car in each car class are equally nice. From their Cadillacs to Mercedes to Volvos, the car you get will be similar in price and category. Don't get hung up on the one car you wanted, try something new! In conclusion, I can say it has only gotten better. You can expect the same if not better customer service as the bigger more established companies. My wedding anniversary weekend trip may have started off on the wrong foot: We arrived at SixT rental, but then ended up waiting for quite some time as the incoming rental car for us (Mustang convertible) ended up damaged by the previous renter, and therefore was no longer available. At least Stefano had called me prior while I was en route to forewarn me. They worked diligently to find a replacement car while we waited in their office, and the manager Patrick continuously kept me updated on their search. They were able to find a replacement car (Camaro convertible) which came in and they quickly washed and prepped it for us. The Camaro was super sharp and turned out to be an even better option. The car was good looking, fast, comfortable, and the power top was so simple to use. My wife and I had a blast cruising up the coast as far as Carmel by the Sea, and we had the top down around 95% of the time. The car was outstanding. I can say the same for Patrick and his staff. They turned what started off as a negative experience, into a super positive experience. My thanks and appreciation to Patrick! I will definitely return to SixT and get Patrick to hook me up again for a convertible or perhaps another luxury car ( which they have a good selection of). I've rented three times from this location and 2 out of 3 I've gotten a great FREE upgrade. It's simple I show up with a credit card and sometimes have a little patience to wait for the car of my choice. My last experience was much better than expected. Ziomara was amazing!!!! I showed up two hours earlier hoping they would have my XFAR (X5, Escalade, etc) available, unfortunately they did not since my reservation was not until 9am, I had to wait. The system had apparently rented out more cars than they had available and I was almost "Downgraded" from my prepaid reservation. However, the girls really went above and beyond to find me a car for my trip to Lake Tahoe. Finally, I was upgraded to a GMC Yukon XL for FREE. Yes, free upgrade - did I mention this is the second out of three times it's happened to me? The 4x4 came in handy for the snow and I couldn't be happier with my overall experience. Had a 2023 Cadillac Escalade from this creep joint. The car stalled in Blythe CA returning to Los Angeles. We contacted this place regarding THEIR car at 11:56 am. The were supposed to be sending out another car and a tow truck. There were 4 of us in the car as well as luggage. At 3:00 I contacted my AAA to get us off the fwy. We hadn't received any assistance from the car rental company. We notified them of the location AAA had towed us to get is off the I-10 fwy. At 5:00 nor 6:00 nor 7:00 had we received a car or a tow from this rental car company. Every time we called, they said our driver is about 20 minutes from you. At 8:00 pm we contacted AA to tow us all the way back to zLA because this low life company left us stranded in Blythe California and never sent any assistance. At on point the told us that it would cost us about $3400.00 to get towed to LA. COST US IN THEIR BROKE DOWN ASS CAR! I'll never rent from them again and I suggest you don't. They're no less than the big companies and the big companies can help there stranded customers. read more
