I am currently being accused by the Claims Department of damaging a vehicle I never rented. My partner and I are floored by this "companies" incompetence. I have no idea who is running this place or if they are even a legal entity. Customer service is nonexistent. This issue has been ongoing. PLEASE rent a car from another company. I am in the process of hiring a lawyer to help us deal with this matter, since we have not been able to speak to a competent human being or manager. UPDATE: The company's response is a joke. The claims department just sends you the same invoice over and over again with threatening remarks. They even sent me another clients personal information by "accident." My reservation was set for 7 Am I arrived at 7:15 to a closed store. When I call the number on the door it repeats the hours 7AM-7PM yet no one is here. Calling the number gets you absolutely no where you can't reach an actual person. The staff should have called me and let me know now my trip is delayed and I have to sit here like a dummy.They opened at 8 which are the new Covid hours which were not stated when I made the reservation. Lincoln road was closed and they told me I was transferred to this location but the staff wasn't able to pull it up. He asked for a bill with my name and address on it which was not stated on the reservation. Finally he changed it but there was a $200 deposit that was also, not mentioned when I made online reservation. Then, I got a dented car. 1) make sure you confirm your location and time - cause they won't. 2) call and ask all that is required for you at pick-up 3)inspect your car for any prior damage and confirm that they have been made aware of it We all know how big corporation companies can be SNAKES. Omg y'all!!! A must, a must, a must come if you need a rental car. Super affordable compared to the chain rental services like Enterprise, Hertz and Dollar. Like the guy I think his name was Hussein or Emmanuel was super helpful and took good care of us. We got a convertible Ford Mustang for a really good price with a $200 deposit which is cheaper than what other places were offering. He got us in and out! I really liked how close it was to our hotel so our Uber wasn't too costly. The only thing I don't like if that I wish they was open 24/7 or at least until 9p or so. Sixt Rent A Car - Heard they was the best - Car Rental Near Me - Miami Beach, Florida

I often see people rate things like hotels, adventure tours and car rental services at one star. When I do, I think well how can what they are writing be true. How could this company still be in business, if they are truly providing such a terrible product? Well, this past weekend I had the worst car rental experience of my life. My wife and were visiting Miami from Las Vegas. We were staying at the Loews Hotel on Collins Avenue and needed to rent a car to get to Key Largo for a snorkeling trip. Obviously, Miami has many different car rental options, but Sixt has a very "Cool" website and competitive pricing and the clincher, they have a location one block from the Loews on Washington Avenue (about a 3 minute walk). I showed up at the office promptly at 8:00 in the morning. Upon arrival, I found another customer who also reserved her car for this location. She informed me that the office was closed and she had been trying to reach someone on the phone for about 20 minutes already. I tried to call the number listed on the sign in the dark, dirty store front window, to no avail. Next, I tried to get in touch with one of the other Miami offices. I had no luck with these offices, even though they were open. Finally, I got through to a call center that handles calls for people making new reservations. That's what the woman in front of me at the office told me she had to do in order to get an actual live person on the other end. By the time I got to speak to someone, more than an hour had passed. This agent told me he could get me the car I reserved at a Sixt location that was even closer to my hotel. Mind you, my hotel is at 1602 Collins Avenue and the office I reserved was at 1610 Washington Avenue, one block away. The new location was at 4332 Collins Avenue, 27 blocks away. Now, I need to take an Uber to get my car. When I go there, the woman I met at the first location was already there. It took them 30 minutes to get her on the road. Now there is one more woman in front of me. The man handling her rental took her credit card and driver's license, told her the car needed to be washed and would be ready in 5 minutes. She told me her reservation was for 9 a.m. The time was now 9:45 and the guy disappeared. It's now 20 minutes after being told 5 minutes. She was unable to find the agent, the woman went behind the counter and found her license and credit card, grabbed them and stormed out of the office. She needed the car to get to Fort Lauderdale to show a property to a client at 10:00 a.m., thus the 9:00 a.m. reservation. So, now she is going to be late for her appointment. Finally, the agent returns and I explain my situation. Just as with the inept call center agent, this guy offered no apology and said that he had a car for me, just not the car that I reserved. He also told me that they have another location 11 blocks from my hotel, but had no idea why they would not have sent me there, because they would have had similar cars available. He processes everything and gives me a key and tells me to go back outside and down a door or two to take the elevator up to get my car. I find the elevator, push the button and no elevator. I walk back to the office, but again he has disappeared. Back to the elevator, push the button and no elevator. Back to office and I find him in the back. I tell him the elevator is not working. He says just come through here and take the stairs up to the 2nd floor. Again, no apology. I get the car (not the car I wanted), now more than 2 hours after my reservation. Now, instead of being able to take a nice leisurely drive down the A1A along the coast, I have to rush, back to the hotel to get my wife and jump on the highways and pay all of the Florida tolls. While on the road, I call back to the rental office to speak to the manager to voice my displeasure with the service and see what she can do for me. She, like every other Sixt employee I have spoken to at this point offered no apologies, but did add the toll pay app to the car and gave me 15 bucks to pay for the Uber to the office but did not offer to pay for Uber back to my hotel after dropping the car off. The worst part about this whole experience is that Sixt is still promising cars to people at the 1610 Washington Avenue location. There is a restaurant called Crema right across the street and there employees told me they had numerous customers who came in there after finding out their rental car could not be picked up there. My wife and I ate there twice and each time ran into someone who said they were staying nearby and booked their car at this location for that reason. Aside from the inconvenience of having to go somewhere else to get your car, people make plans and want to pick up their cars at a certain time based on what time they are needing to be in certain places. We barely made it to Key Largo in time for our snorkel trip. WORST RENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER! read more

They didn't have the car type I reserved so there is no point is in making a reservation. Contract had me returning the car at 8:30am, website/app says they open at 7am. Office was closed at 8:30am. Customer service line hangs up on up before you can get to a person. Was not able to start the return until 9am. To make matters worse, they charged me $28 for gas, when I turned in the car with a full tank. We had an agreed upon price and when I went to pick up the car, the manager tried charging me extra because the name on my license did not match the name on my credit card. Then he said he cannot do anything because his system is locked, however he had no issue raising the price on us. He took advantage because I was a tourist on vacation. I immediately cancelled and he said we will get a free refund, which we never got. I immediately went to Enterprise Car Rental in the same building and they took care of me and quickly got me a car at a much lower price. I have been trying to call Sixt for the refund and no answer, they claim their line has technical issues, which is actually a scam. I emailed them and no response. OMG! On Saturday 6 we came here to rent a car... it was 9.05am (the store open at 9) everything was close, light was turn off etc. We saw a guy and he pretended he didn't see us. Then he finally opened, not a hello, nothing! He was very rude to us, we asked questions he didn't want to answer, he didn't have a commercial sense. He was wearing a mask with something rude written in Spanish. Very good with friends, a little borderline in a store. There are people who want your place if you don't want to work! We had own insurance; did not buy extra but we added toll fee which was flat rate $7.99 per day. It was worth to buy it because most of bridge toll in florida was electronic system. Let me clear the basics first: nice office, friendly staff, nice cars. Booking on-line was simple, I even received a slight upgrade. But, I will always give a 1 star to any business that is misleading customers. In my case it had to do with the option of "prepaid fuel". I explicitly asked the employee how Sixt applies this policy due to an unpleasant previous experience with Avis. The response was clear: you pay for the missing fuel when you bring the car back. The Sixt employee was absolutely clear about this: I won't be charged for the gasoline that will be left in the tank. It was a no-brainer, I prepaid. Of course you know how the story ended. I brought back 1/3 of the tank and was charged for a full one. Great job, many thanks. In normal life this would be called a fraud, but for Sixt it clearly isn't, because there was a small print somewhere that I have not read. I'll happily bring the issue to the attention of the Consumer Protection office in Miami (http://www.miamidade.gov/business/consumer-protection.asp). Friends, colleagues please avoid the mistake of doing business with Sixt Collins Avenue who will lie, cover up, and then lie again in order to take thousands of $$$ in unathorized charges from your credit card(s). They will intentionally misinform you as to the terms of your contract then defraud you, leaving only the option of legal action to recover your funds. After spending over 100k/yr through Sixt UK we have now closed all accounts, in addition we have instructed our attorneys to claim against Sixt USA in court and have reported the fraud to Miami Beach PD. Alexsandr and Jeimy at this branch of Sixt are a tag team of orchestrated fraud and are at risk of bringing down a national franchise. Overall: Smooth, easy and quick transaction with no gimmicks, hidden fee's or shady business with very reasonable prices. The vehicle we rented was new, in good shape and my husband really had fun with it. However it was not cleaned (inside or out) before we picked it up, despite the 24hrs between placing the reservation and pick up. Aside from that, the service wasn't the best. We originally inquired with Caroline prior to placing the reservation and she seemed to have all the answers and was very well organized. However; the 2 gentlemen we checked in and checked out with, not so much. They assumed we just knew what to do and gave us no information. Upon picking the rental up, there was no mutual inspection so we had to go in and mention a few (very minor) blemishes we spotted prior to driving off and was informed that all preexisting damages were listed in our contract. Upon exiting the parking garage with the rental, the attendant at the booth kinda just stood there with her hand out and we had no idea what she wanted. She asked for our parking ticket and contract but acted as if we were supposed to know that. When we returned the vehicle, again, there was no mutual inspection an had to make sure we went over the vehicle together so we wouldn't be nailed for any damages we weren't responsible for. Overall, there was just a lack of urgency, communication and friendliness but would rent with them again and would recommend it to others. read more

Probably the worst experience ever in renting a car. I have been renting cars for trips and vacations all over the US. Very unprofessional and unexplained fees until after they get your credit card. I was charged administrative fees and overpriced sunpass fees as well as the deposit which was not explained to us when it would be refunded. Been renting from Sixt for years (Gold member) and today was a major disappointment. Requested a full size (4 door, 5 passenger) car was offered a compact (Kia Rio) at the same price? They didn't even offer to upgrade me to a larger vehicle for an extra cost. Walked out and ended up going to another car rental company and got a full size sedan for a cheaper price. It was red and so cool to drive down to Key West with those great ocean views. Unfortunately, we had to see all of the devastation from Hurricane Irma, but the car rental made the trip. I had made this reservation quite some time ago. I was told by the person who attended me that I was going to be having a Mercedes GLE. Taking into account that I had rented a GLC I assumed it was a good upgrade. To my surprise it was a GLA. I came back to him telling him that I rented a GLC or similar. Now he . offered me a discount which I rejected because I need the bigger trunk space. Obviously at first he tried to fool me with the GLA, then he was trying to fool me with discounts. Now he is offering me a wait if 3 hours to get the car I actually rented. I think this is a negotiation proper of a food market not from a company like Sixt. Least to a customer that has a loyalty towards the brand and a customer number with a reservation number as well. I will make sure other people know about this because this treatment only shows second class policies. Now I have all the time to write all these reviews while i wait for the car I rented on the date and hour agreed upon.
