Andrew called a couple times to check and see when we planned to pick a car up. He's the manager of this branch, and is friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Everything from supplemental insurance, gas replacement, and other rental charges were explained thoroughly, so no surprises. He was also willing to stay a little later for a customer who called and wanted to pick a car up right around closing time. I chatted with the customer and learned he rents cars from this location often and always gets great service. When he took me out to get me situated in the Charger, he pointed out a couple scratches and I went on my merry way. The return went well too, and I can confidently recommend this Hertz location.

It's an insurance claim and once I said I'd call the 800 number he REFUSED to lend me the vehicle saying he's already upgraded me. An upgrade that I didn't ask for that be did because he didn't have any cars but apparently I was supposed to be excited about a Nissan Rogue. Ace at least that's what he claimed his name was was extremely arrogant and left me stranded after spending way too much time to pick up a rental.

Not sure how this happens as I booked plenty in advance, and received a phone call the day prior from Enterprise (Livonia) to confirm my 8 seat reservation. After questioning this, we decided we would take the 7 seater in hopes to maybe upgrade at a different location, and we would like to speak with corporate. The manager all of a sudden stated he "no longer felt comfortable giving us a 7 seater." I am not sure how this happens, enterprise made the original error, we are willing to concede and figure it out, and now the manager REFUSED to even book us a car? Horrible behavior by management. Let's just say I ended up getting an 8 seater at the airport location and the customer service was great like I'm used to. This Livonia location has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced, very disappointing considering I am a corporate client.

If you don't prepay gas, they charge $7.00/gallon. This is outrageous for a standard Nissan sedan for 1 day - no overages in time. With charges like this, no wonder so many people just call off work. What was apparent after two days of trying to get a car is that this is an understaffed office that has been directed to rent cars on a first come first served basis - regardless of reservation. If that isn't bad enough, there doesn't seem to ever be enough vehicles available. A shuttle to pick up vehicles from other locations is constantly in operation to get vehicles back to the location. Again, avoid this location at all costs!

Well, I was enjoying my stay in Michigan so much I kept procrastinating leaving and eventually the month rental was up and I needed to renew. Technically I was supposed to renew at the location where I rented it with which would have been the airport in Indianapolis but here I was in Livonia Michigan not wanting to have to drive all the way down there just to do the paperwork. I went into the Budget office on Plymouth Rd and they made a few phone calls and were able to work with me to transfer my car to their location without having to pay the one-day drop off charge. After that I was renting it from them. The only problem I had was once when I gave the kid my AAA card to prove my membership for the discount, he tried running it through the credit card machine and told me it got declined. At first I thought he meant my Visa card has been declined which surprised me because it should have been fine since I had just made a payment. Then I realize he had run my AAA card through and I told him of course it didn't take the charge, it's a membership card not a credit card! I had never told him that that was going to be the card I used to charge the car since I know it isn't a credit card. I didn't think that was too bright. Otherwise everything went smoothly and they were very helpful to me.
