Over sixty of us came for a club luncheon. They let us have the private room and it was just the right size for us. It was a buffet luncheon of prime rib, salmon, rigatoni pasta, vegetable medley and a cake dessert which the club provided. There was one tray of each food therefore we were limited to one piece or scoop to each person. The food was a little chintzy as it was half a slice of prime rib and small chunks of salmon. We were able to offer a second helping of rigatoni and prime rib. The prime rib was A little fatty but was tender. I enjoyed The salmon even thought it was small and not overcooked. I think the restaurant could have made up for this if they added bread and butter and perhaps a salad. We were able to stay, mingle and dance in that private room for the entire afternoon which was an added bonus. Everyone had a good time and the staff cut and plated the cake for all. We ate here last month. We were greeted and seated promptly. We've eaten here before but I didn't take photos last time. The ambiance was pleasant and there was plenty of room for seating. Service was very good. Staff is always pleasant, polite and helpful. Lol, I think I wasn't quite sure about my sandwich when I was talking to the manager but it was wonderful. The food was pretty good as I stated with my sandwich. The oysters were thick! They were also delicious! Overall, the food and experience was wonderful! He got me started with a cadillacccccc, while I waited for my food to go. I ordered the 22oz bone-in ribeye, sautéed spinach, garlic mash.. MAGICALLY DELICIOUS! The ribeye was med rare, cooked to perfection! No steak sauce needed but I LOVE A1, so it just took it to higher heights of goodness. The sautéed spinach was SO good, I was impressed. 10 months later and we did book 16 Mile for our 60+ luncheon. Food was disappointing on the portion our guests were allotted. They gave us big oval plates to use for bite size servings of food. Sixteen Mile House is an old school institution of a restaurant located on restaurant row in Millbrae. It's a perfect place to go after work for happy hour and a proper pint. The service is on point for this type of location, meaning it's smart albeit a little mechanical. They are a little too informal to the point like they weee talking to their friends. The food at Sixteen Mile is classical cooking so if you're trying to avoid butter or cream, this might not be the place for you. Even the veggies felt like they were cooked in butter. The stroganoff definitely heavy in flavor, but also heavy in its use of cream and butter. The one drawback of the formal dining experience is its seating which is probably the least comfortable seating I've ever experienced. The man spread was definitely in full effect. Two TVs blaring different shows over a soundtrack from a waiting room in 2005. The food was the worst part. While the prime rib was actually pretty good, literally everything else tasted like a frozen dinner. This is just reheated, greasy, synthetic Sysco slop. The steaks are supposedly dry aged and you did taste a sort of funk to it, but it also tasted different than a dry aged you'd get at a more classic steakhouse - not sure why. Nevertheless, the steak tasted excellent and had a good char flavor. For under $60, an absolute steal. Baked potato and creamed corn were also delicious. Would recommend them both. Service was good too. Our server let us know of a special going on that night with wines and helped us select a good pairing with our steaks. Overall, it's not the type of steakhouse I'd take a date or wear my best suit for. The theme is an old Western saloon. But the steaks are quality and an absolute steal in the Bay Area. As much as I feel bad for giving this place a subpar rating, I just can't find a way this place ranks as a restaurant I'd ever come back to. It is a matter of preference in some respects, like the live music (which I am not a fan of, but people were definitely gathered for it!). Other areas like service were amazing, but food was really the area that could be improved the most. We showed up on a Saturday night and seated towards the middle of the restaurant. Live band was playing and it was impossible to have a conversation with our friends. We ordered steaks all around because of the one review that compared this place to HOPR in SF. The porterhouse is also a great option for those on the hungrier side or wanting more variety in their cut of beef. Each steak comes out cooked to perfection and with a nice sear and charbroiled flavor as well. Of the sides. I love their mashed potatoes the most, but would opt for pilaf or veggies as well. This institution is an Immaculate neighborhood gem of a steakhouse with a kind of elevated Western vibe. We came in for diner at the suggestion of my excellent and pickiest friend,Steve who only eats about five things, one of which is filet mignon. This is his preferred restaurant of choice for steak and we were celebrating his birthday. As delicious as the night was, it was the company and Excellent service from the affable Vincent that cemented the night as one of the best meals of 2025. He checked in on us, made sure we had everything we needed and had great rapport with all of us. As he described each side and all of the ingredients and preparations, he made each one sound better than the next. Vincent knows this menu and how to sell it, even though the food speaks for itself. The three of us were seated at a large booth towards the back of the restaurant which was comfortable and felt intimate and private, even though the restaurant was starting to fill up. We started with beer for Steve and the best blackberry, mint margaritas. This was a perfect cocktail: quite strong,, but smooth, more sour than sweet, with fresh muddled mint and a salty rim. The fresh warm sourdough disappeared quickly and we demurred when asked if we would like more. Shannon and opted for fried chicken. I got the excellent sautéed spinach and a beautiful russet potato with dishes of bacon bits, cheese, sour cream and butter. Steve got double potato ( fries and garlic mashed potatoes). The chicken was so juicy and not overly battered ot salty, with lots of crunch and nearly greaseless. Steve declared his steak perfect- he even loves the peppercorn sauce, even though he is " not a condiment guy". We were fully sated and were not going to order dessert . My friend Steve doesn't like extra attention, but Vincent insisted a dessert of our choice would be comped for Steve's birthday. They do a classy version of a birthday dessert celebration here. The spongey chocolate lava cake had lots of extra vanilla ice cream and hot fudge sauce- super yum. The salmon itself was okay I really enjoyed it however my disappointment was in the side the dish typically comes with two sides I wanted a salad as one of the sides and was told that a salad equates to two sides so I could only have a salad or two sides. The restaurant was empty and clearly decorated in retro style. The bar seemed like a focal point. The clam chowder was a thick white soup with chunks of clams. I prefer a darker roux and thinner soup, just my personal preference. The Caesar salad..... what I received was more of a Caesar vinaigrette than a creamy dressing.
