This is a great park for the most part, sometimes people bring dogs with nuts that disrupt the fun and some people throw bones all over the place putting the pups in a tizzy, another guy video records people and complains about people smoking outside, he is a tool, but really a good place for the most part. read more

Went today after it had just rained after a 100+day dry spell. The rain must have awakened ammonium particles from all the dog pee because the whole park reeked. I propose more vegetation to suck up this nitrogen. To get more plants we'd require more water. Are there sprinklers? Having a cleared area for the dogs to run I guess is nice, but on the periphery there could be more plant life. It is an improvement from when it used to be all dirt, now it is half lawn. Park is well maintained. Our rottys like it. The people our family has interacted with for the most part have been cool. read more

Smaller, half gravel, half area trying to have grass, no division between sizes, lots of human seating, wash station with hose and buckets but no one has left toys like other parks. These are just observations. I have a Great Dane that loves to play with smaller dogs as well as big dogs so this was a bonus for him. He doesn't really understand the concept of fetch so it doesn't matter if toys were left or not. read more

This dog park is small, but it's still a decent little place to bring your pup. There's a decent amount of space for your pup to play with their toys or meet other doggies. There's a couple of benches and shady spots for you to relax while your doggie plays and there's scoopers so you can pick up after your pet. read more

We've taken our pup here a handful of times and she has a great time. There are a handful of seating areas and water fountain for the dogs. One large covered area with a few picnic tables. Plenty of shovels available for cleaning up after your pup and lined garbage cans with lids. Cute, but pretty basic overall, not a gorgeous park, but I really haven't been to any other dog parks to compare. This one is fairly near our house and where have to drop off our recycling, so it's convenient. The people and dogs we've encountered here have been fine, I haven't noticed any issues, everyone seems to monitor their dogs as they run around. We've been here with 20 other dogs, but we've also been here with only a few dogs hanging. Seems to be busier on weeknight evenings than the weekends. read more

Not large and I can see where it may get crowded during busy periods. Half dirt trying to be grass and half small rocks. The rocks get so hot in the sun the dogs can't walk on them. My 14 yo dog had a hard time walking on the rocks anyway, but being hot as fire made it impossible. Bad design for a dog park and why I wouldn't recommend. There are benches around the perimeter with shade. Water is available. People seemed friendly. Overall it was well kept. There are some positives but the rocks are a deal breaker. read more

I've been here twice now and I really like it. There is rarely people there though so my dog hasn't made any new dog friends. It's a nice park with a dog water fountain and plenty of room to roam. They also have plenty of sitting space so you can watch your dog play. I like that they have shovels to make cleaning up after your pups easier. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I have yet to see any other dogs there so it might not be the best place for you to bring a dog that craves socialization. read more

08/08/16 One day I came in to the dog park in the afternoon with my dogs. There were beef bones everywhere. There was one other guy with a pit bull there. I started throwing the bones over the fence. Got rid of them all. He told me that It wasn't up to me to dispose of them. He also told me that the guy that brings the tennis balls brings the bones. I told him that the dogs would get into fights over the bones. I thought the guy was strange. I was feeling uncomfortable being around this guy by myself. I left the park and waited across the street for him to leave. He left in a red pickup truck. When my dogs and I came back there were bones everywhere on the grass. I guess they were cooked. So I had to dispose of the bones again. One month later he admitted to throwing the bones back in the park. He also said the same thing to me again that it wasn't up to me to dispose the bones. Think about it the tennis balls and the bones touch the poop and pee. It's unhealthy. The dogs can get sick. Don't recommend this park. read more

The park itself may be a little run down, but it's fine and dogs don't mind that anyway. Plus it's free, so no complaints there either. Frankly the issue is mostly people. We've met great people there, and we've had plenty of good chats with a lot of them. That said, the other reviews on here aren't lying. Busybodies are a major recurring theme at this park. I'll spare stories to protect the innocent, but a lot of the clientele seriously cannot leave other people alone. If they don't like how you play ball and pet your dog, oh man, they will tell you (probably while letting their pack of dogs crowd the only gate and let no one in). 2/5. Good opportunity to practice those techniques they taught you in anger management. read more

Awesome open park w/ grass and Rock. Everyone seems to be delight with taking care of it and maintaining a clean park.

My dogs and I really liked this place! It isn't the prettiest park and it isn't in the safest area ever, but it's cute and big enough for my girls to run around. There are nice plants and flowers surrounding the place which adds a nice touch. It definitely has that Tucson feel! The people and dogs I encountered were all very friendly and my 3 dogs seemed to thoroughly enjoy running around and playing with the other dogs. I went on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded, which is nice because sometimes my girls get uncomfortable when there are too many dogs running about. There are many amenities that you would want at a dog park...pooper scoopers, plastic bags, a hose, and a dog water fountain. Overall a nice place! read more

Another first-to-review? Ok! It took Maggie and I a while to find this park, because it's ACROSS 6th from Mansfield Park, on the west side of the road, not IN the park as other dog-related sites kind of imply. As such, we parked quite far from the entrance, and the dog park itself has its own parking lot. It was 95 by the time we walked the distance back to the car. And we hadn't stayed too long. Maggie is super submissive and as soon as we arrived at the park and got through the big double gates, she was bum rushed by like 6 bully breeds. She rolled on her back and ... hoped. The dogs were sweet to her though, and there was no growling - just a lot of "put the new dog in her place-ing." I went to the shady covered area and joined the other owners, while Maggie did her usual, "I'm going to crawl under the picnic tables and hide among your feet before I gain confidence and emerge to play." An older gentleman asked if she "had to do that" - a first for Maggie and I at any doggie park - and I said, "actually, yeah, she does!" She was scared, and it takes her a while to get used to pits, boxers (I don't think they're bullies), Rotts, and the like, and even Pomeranians, really. Every dog there was sweet and mellow, as far as I could tell, but Maggie just takes a while and takes comfort in human feetsies. The man complained that Maggie was going to shed on him, so I took Maggie all the way across the park and sat on the only other bench in the shade. Maggie played alone near me the rest of the time. It sucked. One thing about dog parks and shade is, there are flies. About the park itself: it's pretty nice, actually. Not too big but lots of grass, the usual kiddie pool, a hose, some drinking water buckets. I threw a ball for her a few times, but she pretty much lost interest and plopped down in the grass. On our way out, after less than 1/2 hour, the humans - who obviously went to that park often and whose dogs were a pack - made genuinely nice conversation with us. They felt badly. I told them we'd see them again, which we will, now that we know where to park. The facility is near Maggie and my new home, and somewhat nicer than the other park we've been going to, just because there are actually dogs there. It's not fancy, but it has space and grass and the usual amenities. We'll just hope Mr. Grumble Pants isn't there, and that some of the doggies will let Maggie play with them next time. read more

Te regulars are clique and can be aggressive and rude( the people and the dogs). Waste is not always picked up. A warning for small dog owners there is a large hawk that is one of the aggressive regulars beware. read more

No frills dog park in a easily accessible area of Tucson. Peace, though small, can get bitchy with other dogs so I keep a close eye on her. She had a great time with two German Shepherds, a Pit-Boxer, and a med size lab-like pal. Lots of run space for the four-leggeds. Plenty of water sources and limited but available shade. Quite a collection of balls, tugs, and toys. The humans were friendly and approachable. Nice option for the area. read more

Although the grass is not the greenest, there is a nice community of dogs that arrive around the late afternoon. There's available scoopers and water and most things you would need. Overall it's a good park with friendly people. read more

Overall nice area. Most of the people are great. Sometimes you get some college kids who just throw their dog inside without any supervision--that's pretty upsetting. But it seems to only be that one college kid who does that. Otherwise most people watch their dogs and are friendly. POC friendly for the most part. read more

Lots of sweet dogs and their weird-ass owners :) Medium size compared to other dog parks, but usually not very full (the most I've seen is 12-15 dogs). Water buckets, bowls, and kids-pool with a few hoses. Covered picnic tables and a few partially shaded benches. read more

Going to this dog park frequently just because it is closer to where I live, but don't like this place very much. First, the gate often has pack of dogs when you try to get in, which makes the in-coming dogs really stressful, and their owners don't do anything about it. I saw many people just left because the difficulties to get in the park. Second, the people there aren't too bad but they often just chatting in a group and not paying much attention on their dogs. Third, there were several times that I saw people drink in the park and they even had some beers to share with others. It probably fine for many people, but it just made me felt uncomfortable(it is a dog park, not a bar). As I mentioned some of the owners don't pay too much attention on their dogs, but interestingly enough, there are some people (older ladies particularly, I saw men do that too)like to be the "guard" of the park and come to tell people what they (or their dogs) should not do in the park. I invited some of my friends who own dogs to go with me, they identify that place is scary. It is a okay park, but don't feel very comfortable there. read more
