Employees were super nice from giving recommendations for items based on what you're looking for to checking stock for other sizes or colors options. They do have a pretty solid variety here across their inventory for men, women, and children. If they don't have a particular item that you're looking for, size, or color, they can help you order it to have it be delivered to the store for pick-up. With the Patagonia brand, returns and exchanges are also easy. They want you to be satisfied with what you are getting, which I love about the brand. That's not this guy. The owner is old school: direct, unchatty, and honest. He tells you when you don't need something - actually preventing sales. He helps you avoid the Amazon-too-many-choices problem by stocking ~ 2 choices for shoes and often 1 choice for other products (this actually can be helpful - no need to weed through hundreds of fake reviews). He gives you what you need and you're done. Here's a typical experience (after multiple visits): me walking in smiling and chatty. I ask for XYZ. He - not smiling and not chatty - gets me XYZ with minimal fuss and fanfare. I check out. That's it. Prices aren't too bad and it's nice to go someplace local, where he has what you need and you walk out with what you need and sized correctly. Really not good for consigning! They have mixed up the dates by which I was supposed to pick up…read moreclothing, resulting in them getting to keep them and sell and keep all the profit. Fair enough, except that they should get their dates correct or else take responsibility! Also, they have accepted items from me and then inexplicably tossed them, without telling me. They charge $5 per month for their consignor access website, and it is very hard to opt out (I had to opt out every time I consigned and sometimes press them to reverse the charge after it had been applied anyway). Also, I noticed that the payout amount is often less than what was on their label. I don't think they want you to see the labels but I went in the store to take a look and it was higher than what they marked on my printout. Not recommended for consigning.

Apparently, only one of them carries the keys to the front door at any given time so even if there are customers waiting to be let in, well, too bad. When the guy with the key finally looked up and saw me, he opened the door to let me in and promptly went to go chat with some other dudes in the parking lot. There's an entrance on the front side and a poor woman stood there in the rain for a good ten minutes as five (!!) employees milled around, shrugged, and stared back at her. Everyone working here seems way more interested in lounging around and gossiping/making snide comments. I left as quickly as I could.
