One friend tried the crawfish etouffee and absolutely raved over it. He said next time that he will order a bowl and some bread and that will be his meal. I had the Wicked Chicken. The very large portion was delicious though I would have liked some of the balsamic glaze shown in the photo. I added a side of fried squash. Absolutely not needed but very, very good. In fact, the side offerings looked so enticing that I might just order a few sides for my meal on my next visit. My husband ordered the seafood risotto. He said it was bland and really wasn't thrilled with it. One friend ordered the shrimp po-boy. He said it was great. It looked really good - absolutely stuffed full with shrimp. The accompanying fries were almost like a cross between French fries and potato chips. Really, the sandwich was so large, the fries were overkill. There is a pretty large cocktail menu that includes some classic New Orleans drinks (think hurricanes and hand grenades) plus a bunch of drinks that looked interesting. I tried the hurricane. A traditional hurricane is a pretty strong drink. Cajun Roux's version certainly wasn't. I'd skip this next time. There wasn't a chance in the world that I could have eaten a bite of dessert but next time I'll make sure to save a little room for the bread pudding. Overall, service was good though the timing of the arrival of some of our food and drinks was off. Not a big deal. Parking was typical Providence parking. The restaurant has some outdoor seating and is much larger inside than it looks. It's a tad pricey but really about average for the quality and quantity of food that we had. Do be aware that a 20% tip is added for 5 or more diners. It was on the menu though none of us noticed it nor would have guessed that a table of 5 would trigger it. That's totally on us. But we were still handed our receipts with suggested tip amounts and pens to fill in the total. Will we be back? Absolutely!

There was a lot of meat on the bone. Again it had no seasoning and didn't have a hint of smoke to it. It was more like a braised beef rib. Not much flavor to it at all. It also came out cold. Some parts were maybe room temperature but the majority of the rib was cold. Our waitress was even surprised how fast it came out because it normally takes a lot longer to heat up. I got a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo instead of the two sides the rib came with. The rice was undercooked and crunchy. Not much flavor to it but they do have a few hot sauces on the table to use. We also ordered the Cajun red snapper, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts with bacon. The red snapper was good and full of flavor. The mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts lacked flavor and anytime of seasonings. Our waitress was great. She came over to the table fast, made sure our drinks stayed full and was disappointed in the food. She told the manager about the rib being could and they did give me a discount since the owners don't let them remove items completely. The place is well decorated with a bunch of TVs. They have large windows/roll up doors but nothing to prevent flys. We were swatting flys away from our food almost the entire time we were there. At 4pm the place gets really dark.
