We've been coming here with family and friends since the 80's. So great to see this location still thriving as a strong staple to the community. New renovations throughout the restaurant. Service was friendly. Orders for entrees took a little longer than usual but eventually arrived. Salad bar is always a solid choice for a good variety. Create your own salad, hot foods, soup and dessert. As tastes change with age I can now always enjoy a good bowl of soup. No matter how hot it is outside. The entree selections were satisfying and just the right amount for one person to enjoy.

Great ambience and staff was friendly. Food was cooked as requested salad bar was clean and well stocked. Free cheese toasted bread was delicious! Would come again.

Ordered the Salmon and added the unlimited salad bar and if you are a senior your beverage is free! Nice surprise. The Sevice was good as the servers checked on us regularly. The salad bar was constantly be stocked. Restaurant clean as were the restrooms. I normally pass on Sizzler bust family wanted to stop because it was close. I was pleasantly surprised.

Ordered the 14 ounce rib eye steak in medium, with sautéed mushrooms on top and garlic mashed potatoes as the side. Not only was the steak almost rare, they gave almost no mashed potatoes with the dish, only enough for three maybe four bites. The steak also tasted burnt in some places and had lots of fat in the cut. Took a bite and felt it was all fat, almost puked. I tried eating around the bad parts and just hated the whole experience.

Food has gone downhill. Salad bar only had tuna salad and fake crab salad. Ordered Ribeye steak. Was 2/3 fat and was tough. Could not eat. Baked potato had no flavor. Bill was $40 for one person. Will not return!!

She specifically told me how much she loved Sizzler's bread.

We had not eaten at a sizzler in many many years. This one really surprised us. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Not sure why it has so many negative reviews for the price. The food I thought was pretty tasty. Service is great and enough food for leftovers. I know this place is been around for a long time but looks like it's in pretty decent shape not worn out and tired like some other restaurants in the area will definitely go back again. Maybe I'll try the Buffet bar which had lots of tasty options.

Baracoa Cuban Restaurant was an amazing discovery when we stopped for a lunch pitstop on our drive…read moreup towards Tehachapi. I can easily see them being a favorite in the Palmdale area. There was plenty of parking in this lot. The entrance is located through their patio, which can be a bit counter intuitive. We came at opening and the restaurant got really busy during our time there. Initially we were looking at the sandwiches because it was lunch time, but then we were going to a wedding that night so we decided to eat something more filling since the ceremony and speeches always delay the eating. All entrees here are served with black beans and rice or congri, and 3 fried plantains. My boyfriend had the Ropa Vieja ($28) with the congri and I had the Lechon Asado ($25) with the rice and beans. Our food came out pretty fast after we ordered. My boyfriend's Ropa Vieja is a Cuban braised beef. The congri is basically a mix of the rice and beans. This dish was super tasty and the shredded beef was so tender with the bell peppers and onions. I can really taste the red wine and tomato sauce in the base. I took a few bites but in general I preferred my dish more, and vis versa he enjoyed his dish more. My lechon asado is a roasted pork that is super super tenderrrrrr. It was so sweet with the grilled onions and it had the perfect amount of fattiness without being over bearing. SO GOOD! Love the plaintains too. I'm glad I got the rice and beans option because I would have gotten too full too quick with the congri. I barely touched my beans and only got through half of my rice. Both dishes came with this super tasty garlic butter sauce that I poured on my rice and made it even tastier. It was so good. One thing I didn't enjoy about the experience was the flies attacking us and our food. Since the door is open and connected to their outdoor space, it leaves the opportunities for flies to come in. We had to play defense with the flies the whole time. The service here is a little slow. Especially when I was trying to get back on the road I wasn't feeling too patient. I waived down multiple staff members too. Also I got hit with an undisclosed 3% surcharge for using my credit card. I only found out after I got the receipt. I would have paid in cash if I knew. *dislike* LOVE LOVE LOVE the food. Might be the best Cuban food I've ever had... and I've been to Florida where there was a lot of Cuban spots. Room for improvement with service, flies prevention, and the disclosure of the credit card fee.

The food quality is spectacular! I always get the Baracoa Cubano sandwich and it never disappoints. The ingredients are fresh and organic with each dish I've ordered. Since I have allergies to ingredients used to preserve frozen food, it's always been so hard finding a restaurant with a menu that doesn't cause me issues--and Baracoa has never compromised with their ingredients! The organic quality of their food is something you'll taste on your first bite. And finally--the service is impeccable and I have yet to see such excellent hospitality at any restaurant I've visited, even in Los Angeles! The waiters are always kind, attentive, and energetic with their behavior and service. It's very easy to tell they love the work they do and it shows in their work ethic. In addition to that, the managers are always making sure we're having an excellent night and have transformed it to a level of service we've never seen! My parents and I went a week ago and talked to Daniel the Manager about how much we missed a Piña Colada from a closed restaurant which would make it in the pineapple itself--and he said if we promised to be there in a week he's make it himself. We came on Friday, and the joy that my family felt was palpable when Daniel came out with the drinks we've wished for years now since that restaurant closed! Honestly, I've never heard of someone caring for their guests so much to do that--truly everyone should visit this establishment and experience true fine dining. I don't think I'll ever eat anywhere else for a special occasion ever again.

We started with a French baguette served with honey butter and olive oil for dipping. Both paired perfectly with the bread and were incredibly flavorful. Food 3-5 - we've had mixed experiences, but mostly very good. There aren't any off menu requests accepted. One cannot replace ingredients. One can only remove specific items from a menu choice. Don't even ask. Apparently the chef's policy is absolute. Ambiance 4-5 nicely decorated and designed. Has a high end feel that is unusual for the AV. So why the 3 stars? One single experience. My wife asked the server (Jackie) if it would be possible to get a side of sauteed mushrooms. She said probably not as it's not permitted by the chef. We asked to speak to the manager to express our disappointment. When Jake showed up, before we uttered a word, he stated that it's just something they don't do, so no to our request. Then he turned and walked away. There was no dialogue. It was a one way conversation. In essence, we and our request were dismissed. The experience was incredibly off-putting. It was unnecessary to respond to a patron's request in that manner. Totally unacceptable. I write this review to memorialize the experience for others, because it won't matter to the owner/chef/management. It seems, judging by their total lack of response to other reviews, good or bad, that it really doesn't. Typical dinners we've had run a tab of $150-200 (including tip). We have visited 1-2 times a month for the past two years. We have brought friends and family on several occasions, generating additional per-visit revenue for the restaurant. Again, this doesn't seem to matter. So, sadly, we're going to have to take a leave of this place. Too bad really.

My husband got the pork katsu and I tried the shabu shabu. Both dishes were flavorful and definitely satisfied our Japanese food craving. Unfortunately, the service experience did not match the food. When we first arrived, one of the servers gave us a heads up that they were busy and service might be slower than usual. We completely understood and appreciated the warning. However, after waiting about 20 minutes, we realized our order still had not been taken and it seemed like we were accidentally forgotten. We understand things can get overwhelming during a rush, so we tried to be patient. What stood out more was the overall lack of attentiveness and welcoming atmosphere from the service side. Some of the interactions felt cold, and one of the servers in particular seemed visibly annoyed and like she did not want to be there. As customers, a simple friendly check-in or update goes a long way, especially when the wait times are longer than usual. It took about an hour for us to receive our food. We also noticed other customers looking frustrated, and saw guests walk in, stand near the entrance for several minutes without being greeted or acknowledged, and eventually leave. Overall, the food itself was good and we can see the potential here, but the customer service really needs improvement. Long waits can happen, especially during busy hours, but feeling ignored or unwelcome makes the experience less enjoyable. With better communication and more attentive service, this place could be so much better.
