When I went to get my salad and returned to my table I was pleasantly suprised to see my meal there with cheese toast which i usually have to request already there. I found my waitress to be Savannah and asked for a refill on my soda and was promptly replenished. When i was ready to leave i was quickly given a to go carton. I ordered the steak with baked potatoe and salad bar. the steak reminded me of the old school pink rubber erasers i used in grade school, while cooked the way I liked it, it just did not have enough flavor even if I added salt and pepper. I associate Sizzler with old people, really old people. I'm not sure if I saw their steak special advertised on TV or Facebook, but nevertheless, I was inclined on trying. I have distant memories of Sizzler, good ones and bad ones, mostly the vanilla and chocolate ice cream machine. This Sizzler looks damn new and I thought it was until I asked the manager and he informed me it'd been there for over thirty years. Whoops. I'm not sure if I like the ordering procedure: the diner plasters their menu on the wall before the cashier and you order like a fast food joint--a little strange. The pricing is reasonable with steak plates going for about $13 bucks and much bigger than Applebees. The very popular endless salad bar goes for $10 (dinner time). The salad bar includes other items, such as tacos, pasta, nachos, etc. The diner is spacious and has a few TVs scattered around that were playing a football game. I was surprised when a waitress came up to our table, it kind of throws you off since you ordered fast food style. Our dinner entrees took about 15 minutes to arrive to the table. My steak and baked potato looked great and cooked to perfection. I always get a awkward stare for ordering a plain baked potatoe. The steak was perfectly cooked, medium rare was done just right and the meat was juicy and flavorful. I had a few bites off my family's entrees and was impressed as everything tasted pretty good. Sure, it's not gourmet, but you're not paying gourmet prices either. The most surprising element was my Sizzler steak was much better than the steak I had at Outback a week prior. TLDR: Lackluster food, decent waitress, unprofessional environment. ---------------- The only reason why I am giving this review two stars is because of our waitress. While she ended up giving me a refill of water instead of the drink that I asked for, she was nice and came by a number of times, so it wasn't a total loss. My wife and I ordered the steak and endless shrimp, medium rare. Both came out well done, and tasted pretty gritty and bland. Almost every piece of shrimp that I looked into had not been properly cleaned. I'm not sure how the bill came out so high, but it ended up being about $72, which is completely ridiculous (we did have a third person, but still), and I would have went somewhere else had I had known that is what we ended up paying. Why pay so much for such terrible food when I could have spent just a little bit more at a place like Black Angus or Texas Roadhouse? Lastly, we were seated in a corner (which isn't a problem) right near the where the kitchen exit is located. Just across from us, the employees were using a table as a communal eating area. Food: The appetizer section got me excited because I can create my own nachos and tacos. They even had fried chicken wings! Having said that the food can definitely use improvement. I ordered my steak medium rare and the meat was still tough. The appetizer section was salted to a point where I felt disgusting after I was done. Sizzler...What can I say? It's definitely not the experience I recall from the past. Where do I start? First impression, decor and layout hasn't changed. I think the only change is the requirement of proof of immunization. Let's start at the beginning of our experience, the girl at the cash register dropped the plastic water cups as we walked up to place our order. I briefly thought I hope she doesn't use them for the water they provide to their dine in customers. After showing proof of vaccination and placing our order, she hands us our lemonades and we're left to find our own table to sit at. This is reminiscent of eating at a fast food place, and not a restaurant. The waitress came shortly after we sat to ask if we wanted cheese bread. After agreeing to getting some, shortly after it makes its arrival to our table. We got one cheese bread each, with the adjacent table getting two pieces each with their order of all you can eat salad bar. Okay, no problem. Our food arrives and the steak is decently seasoned accompanied by some cheap out the box make at home mashed potatoes. On to the shrimp, it tasted like the boxed cheap ones you can purchase and fry at home yourself. Later that evening, I couldn't get the taste of the oil out of my mouth ...Yuck! Their lemonade tasted so watered down, that one couldn't tell that lemonade is what one was drinking. It tasted more like sugar water, with strawberry preserves at the bottom. After sitting there for some time, one of the wait staff asked my husband if we wanted anything else and he asked for more shrimp. Let's just say she never brought the shrimp to the table. We just sat there enjoying our conversation and watched her go from table to table, probably doing the same to all the other people eating there. From our interaction with her we wondered if she was intoxicated, or under the influence of drugs. When we got the opportunity we asked another waitress for the same request, and she complied and fulfilled his order. Looking around, I was disappointed at what Sizzler has become (or maybe this is what it's always been), but the lackluster ambiance is only amplified by the lackluster service. As we're sitting there trying to make the best out of our poor choice in deciding to eat there, the same waitress that fulfilled our order comes back around to ask if we're using our salt and pepper. After we say no, she reaches across the table we're sitting at trying to enjoy our meal, and she grabs both and walks off without saying another word. She didn't ask if it was okay to reach across our table, or if it was okay for her to take the salt and pepper? I swear there were no manners, and definitely no customer service skills demonstrated or involved here. I can clearly see her walk three tables down to give the salt and pepper to the group sitting there. Sometimes you have to laugh at the comedy that takes place around you. Let me just say, no tip was left as no tip was deserved! Too bad for her, because I usually tip way over 20%! The only thing I know is that my taste palate has changed over time, and I've outgrown Sizzler. It's safe to say that my childhood memories will stay memories, and I'll no longer attempt reliving them. Sometimes the things that we remember as memorable to us, aren't the same when we experience them later on in life as adults. Next time I'm craving a steak, I'll just stick to the steakhouse I usually enjoy. As far as the service is concerned, I guess you get what you pay for...Cheap place, equals subpar service! There was a reason why I stopped going to Sizzler about 20 years ago but I couldn't remember why so we took a chance in order to give Sizzler a second chance but was that a mistake and here's why, service was awesome and I mean impeccable with a smile but the food was terrible, I ask for the Ribeye because that's my favorite cut and my wife asked for the Tri-Tip steak with Lobster Tail, the steak I received definitely was not the ribeye cut, totally different type of meat but I went with it anyway to give it a chance, bad idea and my wife's cut definitely wasn't a Tri-Tip cut and she asked for medium well but when she cut down the center of the steak blood just flowed out and it grossed her out but asked for it be nuked or cooked more and when she got it back it was definitely well done and so dry, I really enjoyed the service but I will make a note never to return just to give away $86 for terrible food, so sorry for the review but I couldn't understand how you guys stay open without giving customers what they ask for and the subpar quality. read more

So I like coming to Sizzler, it's too bad that many of them are closing down. They have many options for food. I've been coming to this location for YEARS. I've seen how it's changed throughout the years and ever since hometown buffet closed it's gotten a lot busier. I'm not sure of the waiter who always helps us but he's so friendly and even knows that I like my garlic cheese bread. Unfortunately the last time we went the guy who was at the register totally messed up my order and overcharged me. We waited for 40 minuets (or what seemed like forever for our food) until the waiter said something to the manager about us. I did my speak up because I thought maybe they're just so busy but it was nice that the waiter noticed something wrong. I spoke to management and explained the issue and he gave me 2 free salad bars. Senior menu prices have changed but have not been changed inside restaurant. The 6 giant shrimp shows $12.49 & comes with salad & soda. Now it shows separate charges for each item on your receipt. Manager said it changed 2 months ago but I was there 2 weeks ago & was charged the old price.. Today my receipt showed $10.99 for half dozen shrimp, $2.99 soda & my salad was $5.49 because I upgraded to salad bar, 2 weeks ago I got same order it was $18, today it was $21. I asked Manager & he said cashier should have explained this. She also forgot to tell customers to wear gloves @ salad bar. Male Manager is very nice & friendly but the 2 waitress were forgetful & kept asking me did I need anything I said extra butter each time & finally asked what was taking so long? Was told the kitchen was backed up on orders & when food came she didn't bring extra butter & no cheese bread. Service is better through the week. If I could, I would vote 3.5 stars. Based on this Sizzler compared to other Sizzlers that I've been to in AZ, this one was smaller with less selection and a higher price point. But the food I had was tasty and fresh. The restaurant was clean. And while our server wasn't the best, I saw the ones around me hustling to get the job done. So maybe she was having an off day. Sizzler has definitely gone down hill since I was a kid. Or maybe my taste has improved but it isn't what it used to be. That's ok, this isn't fine dining. My kids love going here. I find that if you order a meal with the salad bar as an add-on, you can take the meal home for another day and fill up on the endless nachos, soups, spaghetti, and other fixings from the salad bar for only about $4 more. I took my kids and my boyfriend to dinner last night and spent only $45 with leftovers for today. My suggestion: order the cheese bread from the waitress. It's free and delicious. read more

Yesterday evening my family and I (party of 7) went to dinner, our experience here was not so great! First of all, the dining area around 7PM had tons of open seating available however there was a line almost out the door. We ordered three entrees of Fettucine Alfredo with two add on salad bars (more than enough food for seven.) After we were served our waiter did not check in at ALL I had to go to the back to ask for more plates and soup bowls. We do not live in Pinole but was in the area visiting family of which two out of our party of seven was present. On our way home (to Antioch) 30 minutes into our commute everyone felt sick, my children felt like vomiting and my fiancé and I had massive stomach pains! 1 hour later we arrive home and everyone is sick full blown symptoms. I call Sizzler at 9pm and spoke to the supervisor/manager on duty, I explained everything mentioned and his reply was "that doesn't make any sense." I can't say for sure what food of our meal made us sick but the fact that 7 people that ate the same thing at the same time had the same exact reactions to the food, makes a whole lot of sense to me! The manager took my information down and stated he would forward my concerns to the GM Jim which would be in the next morning (today.) Well, I called Jim at 11AM and had to call back twice as the first time I called I was placed on hold for a lengthy amount of time and even hung up on! After my second attempt Jim finally came to the phone and I re-explained all mentioned, again. Told him I wanted to file an incident report and I would like refund, his reply to me was I'll forward your complaint to cooperate and we'll see what they say and if you don't hear from anyone today call back Monday. WTF! Food poisoning is a very serious accusation for a business and not very fun for the customer and in this case it's customer(s) plural since 7 people all experienced the SAME EXACT SYMPOTMS!!!!! Yesterday My wife and I And my niece had lunch at the Pinole Sizzler location. It is very good most of the time. Yesterday was the exception . We all chose the salad bar. The clam chowder was good as usual and the salad. But the fried chicken was awful, it had to be reheated chicken from the previous day cuz it was hard And rubbery and dry Azz. Kind of overpriced for the selections available. Not too many hot food choices other than the basic mashed potatoes, spaghetti, tacos, and chicken. The pasta salads were actually really good though, there were three different kinds, I believe. I hate that you have to pay for drinks separately, but they justify it by bringing fresh hot bread rolls. They also had sweet potato in their kale salad mix which honestly was pretty great. I would have given more stars if I didn't have to pay over $10 for barely any hot tray items. This would probably be a great choice for vegetarians. Usually, I'm a big fan of the Sizz, but this one was so bad as to be mindblowing. When I give reviews of a place, I tend to tell all the good stuff first and then talk about the drawbacks. In this case, I need to talk about all the bad stuff first, because the visit was so bad overall that the bad stuff is almost the only thing to talk about. I'll spare you guys the story, and just list the lowlights: --The restaurant was noisy and so crowded that it was difficult to even move and walk around tables. Staff tended to block aisles. --No steaks were cooked to order at any time for anybody at the table. We ordered steaks from medium rare to medium, and we all got steaks (at least the first time around) medium well to well done. They were okay tasting, but dry. The steaks were also significantly smaller here than at other Sizzlers that I have been too. --The caesar salad I ate had so much garlic in it that when I go to see Twilight: New Moon with my family in a few weeks, the vampires probably won't even come to the screen. --Our daughter's food was never put into the order. Her child's salad was actually put on my wife's meal instead. We noticed this several minutes into the meal when she never got her food. When I let a server know, it took at least another 10-15 minutes before it even came to the table. I was charged full price for it too. . . --Someone else in our dinner party didn't get her meal either, and when she did finally get it 15 minutes later, it was overcooked. She sent it back, and got it overcooked again. She sent it back a third time, and it came PURPLE raw on one side. When the manager was questioned about this, he flippantly said that that's the way they did "medium rare" at that restaurant. Well, I ordered medium rare, and it was overdone, so BS. --Also, on the third order, there were chunks torn out of our friend's cheese toast when it came to the table. I thought that Sizzler at least couldn't mess up the cheese toast, but they did. --After the third time, our friend was fed up with the restaurant and wanted a refund. The manager was quite reluctant but finally gave in. --The manager offered no discounts to the rest of us at all for all that trouble. I would strongly recommend that you avoid the Sizzler in Pinole at ALL COST. I'm now calling it the Suckler. read more

We went on Thanksgiving Day. We had a great dining experience! The line we fast, the service was great. The people in or party ordered different types of steak ribeyes & sirloin with chimichurri) were cooked to perfection. A few had the salad bar and loved it but there was disappointment the vegetable soup wasn't served, chicken wings were a hit & salad selections. There few who ordered the Thanksgiving feast weren't as happy because the green beans were over cooked, the mashed potatoes, gravy & Turkey were lukewarm. Also, the Turkey seemed like it was just larger cuts of lunch meat & not roasted Turkey. They agreed that Sizzler should stick with their regular menu because everything else was delicious. However, everyone agreed the dining experience was great for a large group, it was easy to hear the conversation, and the attentive wait staff were excellent at making our group feel welcome & embraced the holiday spirit. Sizzler is Sizzler. I've found that most places are pretty consistent with their food. The unlimited shrimp is my fave and this place satisfied my craving for fried goodness. Only thing here is that the portions are not too big from the start, so I did end up getting another plate of shrimp. That's the idea, right? I guess I got used to the supersized portions in Colma where you never have to ask for more. Hubby got his usual Salad Bar. He enjoyed the fried chicken wings and the fresh guacamole.
