    Chicken and Waffle
    Renee F.

I gave them two stars for making the fried foods fresh to order (although I didn't perceive the same for the sides) and for packaging the food so it doesn't touch - I know that's important to some folks. I do think that the best thing we had were the wings and even those had something weird going on spice-wise. The waffle was nasty- it had a savory thing going on rather than a sweet one. It also came with Smuckers syrup which always tastes artificial and super processed- something that may be more appreciated by kids and teenagers. The fact that there is an up charge for macaroni and cheese and yams is crazy- especially because the macaroni didn't seem like it was made that day and it was bland. The yams tasted like they may be from a can- neither side is worth the up charge so skip both if you're on the fence about it. I was so disappointed with the amount of money my boyfriend spent at this place considering the food we got. I ultimately couldn't get through my food and he got through half of his before calling it quits, which is out of the norm because he usually doesn't waste food. I'm all for supporting small businesses so check them out for yourself if you're in the mood to try something new. If you're hungry and want a better quality of food for your money then there are better options if you drive to Emeryville or Oakland.

    Tiny "catch." :(

It pains me to have to write a poor review for a Black-owned small business. Recession aside, the portion sizes are way too small. I ordered the "lunch" and ended up with a "snack." Really wish I had something better to say. Fish is well prepared but just not a good value for $16 bucks and some change.

I was craving some greens today, so I decided to go to snapper's seafood. Their online portal was glitching so I drove to the restaurant to order. Their menu listed a side of greens at $7.99; however, once ordered, I was told the total was $10.94. WTF!!! For a side of greens? The waiter points to a sign which said something about "price increases", so I asked why their printed menu doesn't reflect the correct price. No response. At that point, I let him know how they makes it hard for people to want to support their business, but I went ahead and bought the greens anyway. Soooo, I The greens were gross, gross , gross AF. I immediately spat them out. The greens had a weird/old taste, and lacked any season. To the trash they go! Their service, prices, and food is terrible! I would neverrrrr spend another penny here.

It's very delicious and yummy. It was so yummy. The yams were everything I will be returning soon.!!

I want buy a large Yam, but they would gave sample taste. The red bean and rice is too small and not the good. Taste and looks like baby food. After playing $137.00 for 5 meals with tips.

    Fried Chicken Wings - Spicy

Recently took a trip over to Richmond to try out some seafood and fried chicken from Snappers Seafood from the recommendation of some friends. They advised I need to do a review on their food. So Recently pulled up and decided to give my take on their food. I ordered Catfish & Chicken Wing Plate with Red Beans & Rice and Mac N Cheese. Red Beans & Rice 3.5/5: Rice n Beans was solid and very tasty. It didn't knock me off my feet but I was very satisfied and would recommend the side to anyone that has a taste for it. I would have wanted it to be a little Spicer but that's just me. Mac & Cheese 3/5: TBH the Mac n cheese was ok. It wasn't bad but it was not great. It was just okay. I will say after having Mac n Cheese from Minnie Bells its gonna be hard to knock it out the park for me. The bar is set really high. But the side wasn't trash or what I would say whack n cheese because if it was ordered for me again I would eat it. Catfish 4/5: Nice size Catfish pieces, that were crispy yet tender and very flavorful. Highly recommend on my suggestion list if u happen to pull up to this establishment. Chicken Wings 4/5: Also a winner Winner Chicken dinner in my book. Nice size wings and drummets. Seasoned well , spicy but nothing unbearable. Highly recommend as well. Overall great food, dope service and enjoyed talking with the staff and everything. Even the cook came outside to ask me if I enjoyed the food while shooting my food review

Red snapper & Prawns 2 item combo

This place is BOMBB. It was recommended by my roommate since I'm new to the area and its right around the corner from me. The two item combo was perfect for my boyfriend and I & we still have leftovers. Definitely my new fast food takeout spot! The red snapper was a liiitle over cooked, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. The prawns were perfect! The mac and cheese was proper flavor and consistency! I added salt and pepper personally but only because i eat it separately, it would have been perfect if you eat it all together. The greens were properly balanced. I hate when they taste tooo much like baked beans, these ones aren't too sweet. The French fries are steak fries cooked proper. We will definitely be back to try the catfish and salmon.

    Looks legit. First time here.

Friendly and communicative young man taking orders. Good first impression for the establishment. Interior is small with uncomfortable patio style furniture. I'd recommend to-go. Parking okay on the street but all parallel, if you can handle that. I was there at night so can't comment on the quality of the neighborhood, but it seemed a notch up from JJs. Food, according to my picky wife was "perfect." Her catfish was indeed light, crispy and with well-seasoned breading. My oysters were also good but a bit damp after getting sloshed in juice from the greens. Greens very good but a little too many stems for my liking. Yams very good and sweet but not too sweet. 41$ for two, including canned soda, was a bit high. But we decided worth-it for the quality. Prices on the menu behind the counter were lower than we paid, which was the price on the menu on the counter. Difference being number of sides? Not sure. Only other disappointments were, no black-eyed peas (only on Sunday) and no cornbread muffin as shown on the menu. Doughy store bought bread instead. Not enough to deduct a star for a great meal. Be sure to look at the menu and pics from the last month as no fried calamari and wood-fired pies...something we were looking forward to. A little disappointed as the "pizza" ordered was more of a sourdough bread with crumbs of sausage. Yeah you had to look for it and minimal on flavor. Skip for me Items ordered and delicious : :: Yucatán stew - flavors of a tortilla soup with mussel, salad shrimp, fish, onions and poblano pepper in a light tomato-based sauce with a slight kick. Thin strips of fried tortilla on top. 4/5 stars. No bread or crostini offered :: Fish and Chips - light and nicely fried rockfish with thin fries (I prefer a thicker cut) and vinegar based cole slaw - 4/5 stars :: Harbor chowder - rockfish in a light, thin yet flavorful broth (doesn't rely on flour or cream) - 4/5 stars Service was friendly and attentive. Arrived at 11am and started getting busier by 1130...music offered in the evening. Relaxing and chill spot. East Brother Beer Company is across the way (20 steps) but not open during day. Plenty of drink options (Wine, Fieldwork, Almanac, East Brother Beer) available including non-alcoholic. One bathroom nearby but if you walk down the path there are other unisex restroom (thank goodness not port-a-potties!) for the public and tenants so you're not standing in a line! Short walk along the rugged shoreline and path you'll see some Playa Art (refuge for Burning Man sculptures). I'm always impressed with the massive art and detail that go into these pieces...definitely a labor of love. Also, you'll see these large osprey nests perched atop pilings and utility poles along the water that you rarely see...gotta love nature! :) Overall, a great spot for a special event, drinks, music and bites. I hope they offer calamari and wood-fired pizzas again and check when they have a Fall 2026 menu. Last exit before you get to the San Rafael toll booths. Signage to direct you along the windy 2-lane road. Plenty of free lot parking. Bring a jacket as it can get a little chilly under the covered patio. Heat lamps available Note: Receipt notes a 3% Environmental Fee - independent surcharge added to bills to offset packaging costs, fund carbon-offset programs, or cover local green mandates.

However, after my experience tonight, I will not return. Basically, I sat in the bar and wanted a plate of pasta with clams. I told the server when he came by that I wanted the vongele. I meant the pasta with clams. However, instead, I got an appetizer order of plain clams. arguably this was my fault, but the server never came back to check on how I was doing. as a result I did not have the opportunity to order some pasta to eat with my clams. I later on asked the server for a menu. He brought me a menu and then never returned to ask me if I wanted to order anything in addition. This is some of the poorest service I have ever had in an Italian restaurant. First, the server should've clarified whether I wanted just clams or whether I wanted them with pasta. I should've gotten some follow up to ask how I was doing so I could have amended my order. Third after I asked for a menu I should've been asked if I wanted to order anything else. for all else failing I should have been offered some sort of comped food or something. He could've said can I bring you a the house or a cup of coffee to make it up to you for sitting and being ignored for your entire meal. When I finally stood up and went and got the check to pay for my meal because I had become so frustrated. I was no longer willing to wait, the server who is also apparently also tending Bar told me "perhaps I shouldn't have let the second server leave early." that's an understatement. I wanted to order more food and just did not have the opportunity. I would've expected the server to comp me the clam appetizer or do something to try to make this negative experience a little bit more tolerable however he did nothing. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time and that the place was seriously understaffed. I can realize this while at the same time say that if a restaurant is going to charge pretty hefty prices for a good meal, the place should be staffed well enough to bring me some darn food. I thought about giving this place to stars, but the clams themselves were not that bad. The focaccia was mediocre. I would not give this place a second chance. I recognize that I'm sitting in my hotel room feeling pretty hungry and I'm probably writing a more severe review than if my stomach were full. Oh well.

But I decided to give them a try, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Our group ordered just about everything on the menu, and honestly, almost every dish was a hit. The service was also incredibly pleasant. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely sweet. While we did have to ask for a few things multiple times because they were initially forgotten, they were always quick to help and eager to make things right. My only real complaint besides the wings is the pricing on some add-ons. Charging $8 for six small pieces of sausage feels excessive and is hard to justify, especially when compared to the portion sizes of everything else. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience. New number is 510-520-2076 Now about the food: Mustard Greens- when I tell you the GLORY canned collard greens are MUCCHHH BETTER!! Believe me! It doesn't taste like they used smoked turkey, in fact I'm not sure what they used to flavor the greens, but the flavor has left the building. Oh and don't be surprised when you see the sides portion Red Snapper- I was hoping for a savory taste, but I was met with lack of flavor. Don't get me wrong, I think it is seasoned perfectly, but some of us folks like a little more seasoning than what they're dishing out now. Overall, I think the portion is decent enough for one person. Banana pudding- not to my liking. Because I don't have much good stuff to say, I will end here. Everybody can't make banana pudding! This place has nothing on JJ's fish.
