I came here with a friend a couple days after my meet. I've been here plenty of times before. It's really good and feels hella comforting. It feels like food you make at home, but much more streamlined and less mess lol. The service is a bit different you order from your phone and they bring it out, the servers are efficient though. Our daughter suggested going to Sizzling Lunch for lunch. We were excited to try this new cooking style. The restaurant was clean and the servers were attentive Our food smelled good when the server brought them out. I ordered the Deluxe plate, but had to send it back because the bottom wasn't crispy enough. Overall, lunch was an interesting experience, but menu prices are a bit high. read more

Absolutely a delicious meal! Seated promptly with friendly team members. The restaurant was packed and very well prepared. Our meals came out quickly and were steaming hot!! I got pork belly and my partner had the salmon. We were a little apprehensive about the raw meat situation until we realized that our food cooked very fast on the cast iron skillets. So tasty! If you like pepper lunch or if you never had this place, you better try it. I love the concept of sizzling plates. You can do udon or rice with a variety of toppings. I chose beef curry udon with extra garlic butter cause it's fiiiireee. It comes out pretty fast. I recommend the cucumbers to snack, but i sometimes get the Takoyaki if I'm hungry. Clean place, quick service, and staff is attentive. The parking lot can get packed with other businesses, but shouldn't be too bad. read more

Sizzling Lunch never disappoints! Two years later, their excellent customer service and quality food remain consistent. As always, I ordered their cheese fries, and they were absolutely delicious. I love adding the extra spice they have on the table--it makes the fries even tastier. For the main dish, I got the pepper beef. Once again, I added plenty of spice and shoyu and let the rice get a little crispier by not mixing it too much on the sizzling plate--the perfect combination. I really love how much crispy fried garlic they include, and while the butter portion is decent, I would definitely enjoy even more of it. They also have other items on the menu, such as gyoza and karaage, but it would be a lot of food if I ordered them alongside my go-to dishes. Stopped in for late lunch. It wasn't very busy but it was after 1pm so not surprised. Ordered on our phone, got chicken kaarage and fries, teriyaki chicken rice plate, and spicy beef rice plate. My kid liked the fries and chicken kaarage (which was decent portion). My sister also had the kaarage and fries and liked it a lot. My mom had the teriyaki rice plate, first time eating this style of food. Said it reminded her of clay pot rice. She said it was delicious. I got the spicy beef, I added the soy garlic sauce on the table and the chili pepper as it wasn't spicy enough for me, but it tasted great. There are a bunch of Sizzling lunch locations across the bay area, but this one is my favorite. Foster city's Sizzling lunch is located in a strip mall so parking is quite convenient. The interior is beautiful and the staff are helpful. Food doesn't miss here. Ever. Sugarcane is fresh and delicious here. I recommend the lychee if you don't have a strong sweet tooth in the strawberry if it's a little stronger. For appetizers, my favorite is the takoyaki, but my boyfriend prefers the chicken Karaage. They're both really crispy. I was a little surprised that it didn't come out, steaming hot, but my boyfriend pointed out that it was a safe temperature to eat, and it didn't get soggy. For entrées, my favorite continues to be the garlic beef, pepper rice. My boyfriend prefers the garlic beef udon. I tried the salmon and it was good, but the beef here is especially fresh and yummy. Definitely add fried garlic and onion. It's worth it . I order the veggies on a hot plate to lie to myself that I'm healthy and I think next time I'll mix it into my rice instead. It's a clear noodle which gives it its name :) usually made of starch and water. Pretty much tasteless though, you'd probably just add it for texture to your meal.

I had such a great experience at Sizzling Lunch and will definitely be coming back! From the moment we sat down, our server Ethan was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered one of their sizzling beef and udon dishes served on a hot plate with rice on the side. It arrived steaming hot and sizzling, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The beef was tender, the udon noodles were perfectly cooked, and the garlic butter mixed with the corn and green onions created incredible flavor in every bite. Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. What really made our visit memorable was Ethan's kindness toward my son, Mason. He was so sweet and patient with him, and to top it off, he surprised Mason with some Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, which absolutely made his day. These ones are really good not much salt which is a good thing! I love enoki with bacon and the vermicelli scallops they kinda taste the Filipino noodles we have. All the skewers are really delicious and great flavor! The chicken heart was good there's not any fishy taste like. Love the food! Service was amazing, always checks on us and refills our water. Ordering was done on the phone and there is a slight language barrier as most of the workers naturally speak in mandarin, but they try their best. It feels like dynasty BBQ but with a homier vibe. Also look at the size of that oyster. For the price it was insane portion sizing.

My first experience was Taishoken, and I maintain that it's trash. Fundamentally, my issue with the dish is that the cold noodles mix with the hot dipping sauce, creating a lukewarm final product. I prefer my food to either be hot or cold. Not really the middle. Shugetsu solves this by offering hot noodles. Dip your steaming hot noodles into the scalding dipping sauce for a delicious experience. Another busted thing about this place is that, for the same price, you can get any size portion of noodles. Fellow members of value town would be tempted to get the XL for maximum value. It's definitely enough noodles for 2 meals! Finally, I also highly recommend their Aburasoba. It's a delicious dry mixing ramen that reminds me almost of Mongolian bbq. The meat is so tender and scrumptious. Looking back, I hope this restaurant flies under the radar cuz the venue is quite small. If it gets busy the parking lot wouldn't be able to accommodate.
