I wouldn't even give a star but yelp requires at least one. I had been coming to this place for 8 years, back when the owners were an older couple. The place was simple but honest-in most respects. The interior had not been remodeled but that didn't stop the customers from waiting in line. My husband and I enjoyed going there and getting deliveries. The price for an item was 5.95 and the portions where perfect. I would order 4-5 items and my family of 5 were fed and still had a bit left over for a quick single meal lunch the following day. Within the last 2 years quality has gone dramatically down. Don't know if the new guy is son of owner but he calls himself the "new owner". Since he took over they have Remodeled the place, increased the price to 7.95 and made the portions a lot smaller. I have PAYED MORE FOR LESS. I berely get around once on servings for my family, no left over and forget about seconds. After 8-9 year loyal customer one day our order had HAIR! Three to be exact. My husband pulled it out of his mouth. I immediately called to complain. After this "new owner" babbled accented English, we reached an agreement of a full refund of the "ticket price". The following morning I walked in and expected him to follow through BUT he did not. I got $8 back out of $40+ spent on a meal that went in the trash due to HAIR being in it. I argued with him on his staffs phone cause he wasn't even there. I told him after all these years you do this. I said I will NEVER COME BACK. And I haven't. I WILL not FUND his life while he SCREWS with mine. Plus, really, trying to educate on running a business. Here's a tip: you screw up you fix it, you don't loose a customer. read more

This place continues to be my go to for a delicious, filling, and affordable lunch. As a lover of Indian cuisine I am forever grateful for the chicken curry on their lunch menu. There are literally NO Indian restaurants in Downey so their chicken curry, while a Thai-inspired dish, is close enough to satisfy my craving. The service is fast and polite. DO NOT eat here unless you want to fall sick. The ingredients are very questionable - all the shrimps I had were very noticeably bad (first time). Then they replaced the noodle, which had 7 bugs floating scattered on the surface (second time). On top of that, one of the waitresses gave me the look when I denied the dish the second time. Result - mild fever and stomach for the following couple of days, even though I only drank very little soup in which the shrimp was cooked (didn't touch the shrimp at all cuz you know they have gone bad the second you put them in your mouth!) Seriously, stay away... have been to many $ restaurants, never had such bad experience that I will never trust any food the restaurant brings to the table... read more

Excellent choice for lunch.! Very nice inside and very friendly. I ordered the Pad Thai off the lunch special. I received a free water while I waited because I ordered to go. The dish was amazing! I love this place! The servers are fast, friendly and efficient. The food is delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. The restaurant is newly remodeled and they have a T.V. now for sporting events. Never really liked this place til these new owners took over. Food is so yummy! I rarely review places but I had to for sizzling Thai today. We picked up our phone order and when we got back to the house noticed they forgot to give us our pad see ew. So I called and the man that answered insisted on delivering it to us even though we said we would go pick it up. He apologized and was here in 5 mins. Wonderful people and great food. read more

This place is so nice and lowkey. Not to mention the food is amazing and the location is so convenient for me since i live only a few blocks away. Only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 is because when i ordered i ask for no meat (6 yr vegetarian) they gave me chicken and almost ate it! Thank god i asked me bf to try it first! Food is OK, but with one dish a curry-based meal (can't remember name) we didn't like at all. Customer service is friendly. My bad experience was make sure you check the bill, because on the bill was an automatic 18% tip charge. Mind you, there was only 4 adults in our party. The same bill, also has an area for tips, so if you don't check it carefully you may be tipping twice. read more

This was one of my favorite places. I used to order a few days out of the week. Loyal customer my family would order here once a week. But a few days ago I placed an order for delivery. The guys said 40-50 min an I said okay okay cool so I am looking at my clock an less then 20 min later I got a voice mail saying I went to deliver your food u never answered your door. First off u said 40-50 min and second you never knock so I called him back an he said well you have to come to pick it up I told him the reason I order for delivery is because I don't have a car or else I would have went to pick it up its two blocks away from my house. So I am on the phone with him he clicked on me while I was talking when he got to my house he said he went four times ? Really come on. So when I was going to give him no tip for the way he was acting he got all mad and said I need money to put gas .... He acted like he drove an hour away.. I will not be a customer there anymore. Normally when I visit South Gate we always grab Thai food and I was feeling spontaneous this time, so I wanted to try something new and go to a different Thai restaurant. I chose this place bc they rating were high. I'm a huge HUGE curry fanatic so that's all I ever order. I ordered the yellow and green curry with the drunken noodles. The green curry was ehhh, alright, but the yellow curry was completely watered down, BLAND , lacked spice... Lacked a lot of everything. Yellow curry has never really let me down anywhere I went, except this place. I don't want to discourage anyone from trying this place- I'm strictly only judging the curry. The drunken noodles however were delicious- just how I liked them. The still had great service, checking in on us now and then with how the food was tasting.
