I finally found a mechanic for my Audi TT I can trust! Goodbye Roger Jobs!! I had my Audi towed to SK Motorsort when my timing belt failed based on a recommedation from my son and my friend. I am sure glad I did. Steve and Brian at SK took care of everything. I asked them while they were in the engine to check some other issues I was having with the vehicle, mostly electrical. They found that mice had been eating the wiring in my car which was causing a lot of electrical problems for me. They fixed all of that, the timing belt, the problem I was having with the convertible top closing properly. They quoted me an amount after checking out my car, but were able to do it for LESS then the quote!! I had been bringing my car to Roger Jobs for servicing and problems since I bought my "little girl" just over a year ago. They wouldn't even open up the hood for less then $100 it seemed! Ridiculously expensive and with no care to customer loyalty at all. I bought two brand new cars from them in the past. To even look at an issue on the car was more then to fix the issue at SK! On top of all that, because I live in Acme, I was having a logistical issue on how to get my car and my truck to my house. Brian actually picked me up from my house in Acme and brought me into town so I wouldn't have two cars in Bellingham!! I was shocked!! No mechanic I've ever had in my life has gone out of their way for me like that before! SK doesn't even treat their customers like customers! They treat customers like they are doing work on a car for their family or personal friend! They really get it! I will never bring my car to Roger Jobs again! My new mechanic is SK Motorsports. I cannot say enough good things about how I was treated, the great work on my car they did, the extra miles they literally drove to make my life so much easier. Thanks SK! I'm an avid Volkswagen fan and a reasonably handy mechanic - it's rare that I find myself needing to take my vehicles to a shop, however I always prefer to bring my cars to SK Motorsport. I'vebrought my cars to Steve and his crew for maintenance items on three seperate occasions, never customization - although they've happily worked on my custom parts without a complaint. As a shop, customer service is a key focus it seems - in one situation (with prior appointment) the shop allowed me to bring my car in an hour early to make sure I could make it to work on time (although I was able to work right from his lobby on their free Wi-Fi). The last time I went to SK, I actually drove up from Seattle so that somebody I trust could fix mistakes a different mechanic had made (and wouldn't admit to) - that's how much I like the shop. The shop has very good knowledge of Volkswagens, which tend to have a lot of little idiosyncracies throughout the different model years. Any issues they've brought up after inspection I always felt were fair and I've never felt like the shop was trying to oversell or overcharge me, which I cannot say for some other shops I've been to. We started taking our vehicles in to SK in late 2001 after being treated not so fairly at a few of the "other" European shops in town. We have not regretted that decision, and continue to use SK to this day. The shop is very knowledgeable at what they do, they are very good at explaining any issues with my cars, and available courses of action to take. I've had them do everything from a simple oil change and tune up on my A6 Avant, to installing a full stage three kit on my prized Audi S4. We leave never feeling overcharged, and secure with the knowledge that our car was repaired properly. When you are tired of getting the runaround, and paying the "other" local shops big bucks to learn how to diagnose problems on your vehicle, just take it in to SK, 99% of the time they have dealt with it before and can get you up and running in no time. When you own a high end German automobile it is absolutely essential to have a reputable shop that you can trust. Period. I have owned two Audis over the last 6 years and when it's time for repairs or maintenance I do not even have to consider where I will go. It's SK Motorsport every single time. I can say that when I lived in the Seattle area for a short while I had a couple bad experiences with other shops. Let me tell you, you do not want that nightmare. However, over the years that I have been going to SK I have never once had a single issue with my service. Brian and Steve have always gone above and beyond with their service to me and my vehicles. Not to mention the rest of my friends and family. The techs in the shop are knowledgeable and thorough. They always get me in and out in a timely fashion and at a price that is at or below what they originally quoted. I can't say enough good things about them. In the end it comes down to trust. A bit over a year ago, in preparation for our move to Florida, the engine (163K) on our BMW 525iT (Touring) was giving out. Steve, who had already done a fabulous job of rehabbing our undercarriage, recommended an engine replacement with a used low mileage engine. He searched a found a 60K used 528 engine in superb condition (a bit more power) and we bought it. He installed it, saw to a rebuild of our tranny and delivered it just in time for our move. Since then, we've added 26K miles (we drive a lot down here) without a hiccup of any kind. We're still getting great mileage and still changing oil every 3K. The hp boost made a huge difference in performance, particularly in the lower gears. And all this with Steve and Brian's sense of humour, superb service and VERY reasonable prices. If you're in the Bellingham neighbourhood, you cannot find a higher quality of service for your vehicle, no matter the brand. We cannot recommend them more highly. read more

I have been taking my 2006 VW Jetta TDI to SK Motorsport for 2+ years, off of the recommendation of family members who also take their VWs there. The guys at SK have kept my car running beautifully -- maybe even better than when I bought it! Whenever I take my car in for work, either for scheduled maintenance or to diagnose and fix issues that arise, they are always efficient, friendly, and good at communicating so that I can get the car back asap. Their front-desk staff is a pleasure to work with, their rates are reasonable (they often replace little part without charge), and they are good at getting my car into the shop at short notice. I know very little about cars, so it was especially important for me to find a shop where I could trust the technicians to give honest recommendations about what was best and necessary for the car. I've been servicing my car at SK for over a year now and have had a great experience every time. It is clear Steve is a genuine, knowledgeable man and treats his customers well. Especially as a college student I appreciate his fast service but most of all his honesty. Steve will go the extra mile to give his customers top service. For example, my boyfriend also services his car at SK. A couple months ago, he had a lot of work done on it and due to extenuating circumstances Steve lent him his personal car for the evening (don't expect to get an extended test drive because of this!! haha). I took my SL 500 Benz in as it needed new batteries and the ABC light kept coming on. As I understand it, the ABC light has to do with the suspension. $1800 later they tell me they tried to fix the ABC problem but that I had to take it to the dealership. I took the car to Toyota Mercedes dealership as the ABC light is still coming on and the battery light keeps coming on. The dealership called me to let me know that SK put in a 3rd market battery and it does not work on the SL's. Called the owner at SK, he was very rude, gave me a lecture and said I had to have the parts returned and then he would refund me for parts only. Then he hung up on me. Beware of this place, the owners are smooth talkers ! I'm still out $1800 :( read more

When you think of a typical auto repair shop, SK Motorsport isn't the kind of place that comes to mind--but that's a compliment! I've never seen such a clean, well-organized shop. The service was great too. The work they did on my car was done right. The labor cost was reasonable, especially compared to other import shops. The only reason I didn't give a fifth star is that I thought the parts costs were a little on the high end. I could have bought the same parts online a bit cheaper (but of course if I knew how to install them I wouldn't have needed a mechanic in the first place). Overall I was very pleased with SK Motorsport and, even though I wish I never needed their services, they'll definitely be seeing my car again. read more

Moved from mill creek and needed somewhere to take an a4 we picked up in Seattle that we had no knowledge of its history, maintenance or upkeep. Called around and this place has the best prices in Bellingham by a landslide. Very honest, fast and communicate great as well. will be taking our BMW there as well when it needs it. We found out some of our friends and family use them too! The shop is super nice and so is waiting area. I've told everyone I know with a foreign to go here. By far best experience we have ever had with an auto shop (we drive only foreigns so obviously we've had a LOT). Would give more then 5 stars if possible. read more

I have a 2006 VW GTI. The previous owner (a family member) took the GTI to the VW dealership in Seattle to have them assess a problem with the engine (the check engine light kept coming on). $1,200 later the dealership was not able to fix the issue. I took the GTI to SK Motor Sport and within a day they were able to diagnose and fix it! Better yet, it was much less expensive than the dealership. The codes were related to running lean, and some components needed to be replaced including the mass air flow sensor. Kevin and Steve were very helpful. Superb service and these guys really know what they're doing! Would highly recommend. read more

I have had the pleasure of interacting with SK Motorsports on two different occasions. The first was involving an unfortunate issue with an Audi. I felt that the issue with the Audi was handled well which led me to turn to them again. My 97 Nissan had some major wobble to the rear end and the timing belt needed to be done as well. I've taken three vehicles to SK, all with rather complex and hard to diagnose problems. In each case, they did a great job finding and fixing the problems (in two cases, problems that other shops weren't able to fix). Their technical team is top-notch! Also, great service and responsiveness. It is a well-run organization. However, be prepared. Like many things in life, quality comes at a price. They are not the cheapest, but they will fix your problem. If you don't mind investing to keep your European auto running great, they will do the job right. read more

We had the oil changed on our 2011 Mazda CX-7 at RK Motorsport last week. We were very impressed by their courteousness and their professional attitude. They fit us into their schedule immediately, the price was very reasonable, especially since our Mazda requires synthetic oil, and we were in and out in under an hour. Big fan of these guys. I used to go to the Audi dealer for my A6 but listening to them ultimately cost me my engine. They wanted 12K to fix it. I found a new (used) engine online and SK put it in the car. I appreciated the care they took and over 1 year later, the car is running perfectly. I trust the advice they give. My experience with SK Motorsport has been positive. My 2000 Beetle had been serviced out in the county by a company that said they were trained for Volkswagen but in fact weren't. Every thing they did to my car had to be replaced and they nearly ruined the engine. A friend told me about SK. They re-did the work the other company had performed and corrected all their mistakes. We have experienced some of the rest, but SK Motorsport is certainly the best! We took our Diesel VW to them to do the 100K tune-up and to look at and fix a few other things. Their original estimate was about $1,300; but the actual cost was less than $1,200! And now, the car runs well and is a lot safer than it was before. When visiting Bellingham for the summer, my Chrysler Concorde developed a leak. SK Motorsport was great about getting the car in quickly and diagnosing the problem. Before starting my drive back to Phoenix at the end of the summer, I had SK Motorsport check out my brakes and do the routine oil change and check of the car.
