    Chicken Shawarma Wrap

This is my first visit to this location. I was excited they were opening one so close to me. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the owner. We found out that it's a family affair with 4 locations. Dad runs the original, Mom the Chevy Chase location, one brother runs the Highland Park location and another brother runs this one. The menu is fairly straightforward and consists of plates and wraps for the most part. We chose to order the Fattoush salad and a Chicken Shawarma wrap as well as a couple of beverages. There were no customers in the restaurant when we arrived. One person came in to pick up a to go order and another came in after us to dine on site. Sadly, our food took quite a long time to be prepared. At one point, while refilling my beverage, I saw them cutting chicken off of the spit and reheating it in a pan on the stove. I am used to the kind of wrap where they carve it off the rotating spit so it is dripping in juices with those charred crispy edges. Once we had our food, I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. The salad was huge, which I was pleased to see given the price ($12 plus another $8 for the chicken). The wrap was similar in size to those at Zankou. The salad was tasty, if a bit pedestrian. The dressing was tart and loaded with dried mint. Other than the pita chips, which quickly went soggy, there was only lettuce and some onion. The chicken was a bit dry, probably due to the way it was reheated on the stove. The wrap was just okay. Again, the chicken pieces were dry and somewhat flavorless. There was some lettuce and a couple of slices of tomato along with tahini sauce. The tahini was quite runny making the wrap a bit challenging to eat as it was dripping out the end. Having had Shawarma wraps at several establishments in the Glendale area, I was expecting more. For me, Zankou is the gold standard. Their Chicken Tarna is both flavorful and juicy, and their garlic Toum and Tahini sauce are thick, not runny. Skafs did not live up to that standard, not by a long shot. Skafs restaurants are well known in the community. I have friends that rave about them. I will definitely give one of their established locations a try in the future. But for a $50 lunch (salad plus chicken, wrap and two iced teas), it was quite the letdown.

    Chicken Shawarma Wrap

Unfortunately, my chicken wrap was badly burnt, which is not acceptable for food being served to customers. Pretty disappointing experience. Not sure if this location is related to the one on Verdugo since the menu looks almost the same, but the quality and taste of both the wrap and fries were completely different.

Just wanted to give a special shout out to SKAF for opening a quick service right near my house. They're having a ground opening promo of 30% off everything. If you love SKAF on YORK and the original SKAFS, you'll love this quick service option. Got the shawarma plate with cabbage salad instead of rice. Huge portion, super delicious! Hoping this place thrives like the other two SKAF locations! Loved the ode to ROCKBIRD on the tiles near the stove. Didn't realize ROCKBIRD were the same owners.

A great spot with all the Lebanese classics: kabobs, wraps, salads and sides. Everything is insanely fresh and delicious. Even the humus is great. A perfect spot for a quick lunch or a quick dinner.

    Beef Shawarma Wrap with fries

Skaf's is easily the best Lebanese spot in Glendale. The shawarma is legendary, the hummus is silkier than anywhere else, and that cabbage salad is a total must-order. You're getting elite-level food for a price that is beyond reasonable--it's honestly a steal for the quality they put out. Huge shoutout to the owner, Daniel, who runs a tight ship and treats every customer like family. The service is fast, friendly, and consistently great. If you haven't been here yet, you're seriously missing out!

So happy they opened a new location!!! This place has the best food. It's family owned. They care about food. They care about the community. It is amazing food and people. The photos speak for themselves. Check out what we love to order in pictures. Enjoy. I'll write more later.

Wow. Stopped by on a whim because I like to support new businesses and I'm happy to report that this place (although not a new biz) it is a new location and it's amazing. Super moist and flavorful chicken. The fellas that work there are very welcoming and friendly. Stop by and support local businesses and eat amazing food.

The beef tongue was super tender and you can taste each spice and herb it was cooked in. Super flavorful! The baguette itself was crisp but soft and coated with garlic sauce and garnished with juicy pickle slices!! Very great quality. The manti was crisp and buttery! They were stuffed with a fragrant spiced minced beef and the garlicky yogurt really brought it together with sumac!! I paired it with a pineapple Bonjus and also a minty yogurt drink. I am so happy they're here and so close to home as well. I can't wait to go back and try out more items. I hope they continue to thrive!! Unfortunately I did not dine in so I didn't get the full experience but I did order for delivery and the food arrived nice and hot!!

The place is pretty small and hard to navigate around the seating. The best and our favorite of the three wraps was the tongue wrap. This was seriously outstanding and one of the best I've had. It was juicy, lemony, cooked well and flavorful. After that, things went downhill. The vegetable wrap was greasy, almost slimey, and falling apart. The vegetables were all soggy and there wasn't much flavor. The chicken shawarma panini was the biggest disappointment. This was so salty and had a bad taste like the chicken was rancid. It was dry and just not good at all. On the way out we spoke to the owner and mentioned how salty it was, to which he said he knows about it and people complain about it often. So why isn't there a change? Sadly not a place I would return to
