    BBQ Combo

So excited to see a Kabob spot on this side of town! Honestly, I still miss the old Mediterranean Triangle which used to be at the Sprouts strip mall, their Kabob was solid Amazeballs but anyway - Shawarma House moved into the old Blinkie's Donut Shop, formerly the old Mochinut spot, this corner location gives the "restaurant Bermuda Triangle" reputation (maybe needs some sage cleansing lol). But I'm rooting for these guys, because the food is good and this side of Eagle Rock needs more restaurant dinner options. I ordered the BBQ combo and it did not disappoint! (Yummmm) generous portions of chicken kabob and beef lule, served over rice with hummus and warm pita. Hearty, filling, and hits the spot when you're craving something comforting and savory. One small suggestion, if you're not serving Shirazi salad, throw a slice of lemon on the plate. That little hit of acidity makes a world of difference and really brings out the flavors of the chicken and beef The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is welcoming--which already puts it ahead of many spots. With a few small seasoning tweaks, this could easily become a regular stop for me. All in all, Shawarma House is a solid addition to the neighborhood. Here's hoping they break the curse and stick around--because they deserve to. Cheers guys and Thanks!

My first order here: Pork Kabob. The juiciest, most moist pork I ever had. Other places have a name and a following...this is the real deal.

At Shawarma House, the food is exceptional -- but what truly stays with you is the people. Arnous, who prepares the meats, Armineh, whose care and precision are felt in everything from the rice and vegetables to the hummus and garlic sauce, and Lev at the front and on the grill, create something far greater than a meal. They create warmth, generosity, and genuine connection. On my very first visit, I mentioned that I lived nearby in Glassell Park and that my wife might meet me here after a long day. When plans changed and she went straight home, exhausted, Arnous quietly brought me food for my wife -- unasked, unexpected, and deeply touching. It was a simple act of kindness during a very dark and stressful time in my life that cut through all the pain and disappointment I was carrying. Arnous is not a fluent English speaker, but in that moment he spoke eloquently to my heart without words. Now, these words are a small gesture for me to repay his kindness to simply say in public: Thank you. God Bless You. May your business prosper and thrive as it should. As for what to order -- if it's your first time and you eat pork, start with the pork kebab. It is beyond sublime. Perfectly seared on the outside (you can taste the charcoal), moist and tender inside, and without exaggeration the best pork kebab I've ever had anywhere. It's served with a generous portion of beautifully prepared rice that captures every bit of the juices, classic hummus that is timeless and satisfying, and the grilled tomato and green pepper that complete the plate exactly as they should. Ask for the garlic sauce on the side. Every place has their own version, and this one is the most potent -- and the best -- I've ever had. Just the tip of a knife is enough to fill your mouth with garlic flavor. It's incredible with the meat, the rice, and honestly just about anything. I also tried the chicken luleh kebab, which was outstanding -- and even better reheated the next day, when I turned it into my own improvised burrito at home. It held up beautifully. The beef kebab was cooked to perfection as well, and they're happy to prepare it to your preference (medium-rare to medium is ideal). There's a saying that a good meal is not just nourishment, but comfort, memory, and connection. That is not a cliché here -- it's a lived truth. The food is prepared with such care and love that it satisfies a hunger you didn't even know you had. I've been eating Armenian food across Los Angeles for over twenty years, including places considered among the best. I can honestly say I have not had better food -- or been shown greater kindness -- than at Shawarma House. Part of me wants everyone to know about this place, and part of me selfishly hopes it stays exactly as it is -- a small, special spot where you can still sit down and feel welcomed. Either way, it's a gift to the neighborhood.

I had been eating and ordering foods here at Shawarma House since they start their business here at Glassell Park. They have multiple choices of delicious, nutritious and scrumptious shawarmas. The aroma was mouthwatering before I even took a bite. I highly recommend this place because of friendly staff and clean ambiance.

Absolutely delicious. Like seriously, the best shawarma spot I've had. That beef lule kabob is NOT A JOKE. ITS SOOOOOO GOOD. I only write reviews when I really hate something or really love something and I reallllllly loved this. The texture of the beef is perfection, hummus is perfect, the pita is perfect, the price is fair. Everything's amazing. If they invested into the ambience of the restaurant it could be even more of a hit maybe with some moody lighting and handmade furniture. Regardless, great service and great food. Sorry I'd already torn into my food by the time I h the thought how I need to leave a review. 10/10 highly recommend.

The restaurant is located in a quiet corner but the food is delicious! The lamb chops amazing and the services was good as the food. Stop by for lunch or dinner.

Our waiter told us that they can accommodate larger groups which is great. I recently ate food at Saffy's and I didn't enjoy it one bit. The servings there are too small, too pretentious and too overpriced. Open Sesame is the exact opposite and that's why it rules. A wonderful experience in Beverly Boulevard.

One thing you absolutely cannot skip is the edamame hummus. I had never even heard of edamame hummus before coming here, and now I can't believe I went so long without trying it.
