Birthday celebrations are even better when experienced on skates

Place to go for a fun afternoon or a birthday party! Vintage tunes, choice of traditional skates or inlines, a food court and a few fun interactive games make this a must-try for anyone who loves an afternoon on the rink.

Fun place to skate for the whole family. They have skate assists to help beginners roller skate. Rentals are pretty beat up and uncomfortable but they do offer both roller skates and roller blades. Came here for a birthday party and the kids and guests all seemed to be having fun. Overall, I find this skating rink to be a nice choice for skating and family fun. 3.4 stars rounded up.

I normally drop my daughters off on Thursday evening if they have done exceptionally well in school of course lol. However they missed Thursday. So We decided to go on a Friday night. This particular night I came with them. I am a backwards skater therefore, I was excited about joining my daughter's and their friends only to be told I could not back skate for whatever reason. Unfortunately there were no signage nor anything indicated on the website that indicated No Backwards skating. After requesting a refund which was granted. I notice SEVERAL individuals skating backwards and being told not to do so. I'm a bit baffled as to why certain individuals were allow to skate backwards??? A few suggestions to the business owner. 1. Post Some type of signage via the website/ entrance regarding limitations. 2. The referee should be a little more visual for anyone skating backwards not just new customers to the facility.

This Lady with 2 starbucks and chips from OUTSIDE was never approached but we were ???

The holidays were upon us and when we thought of fun activities to do as a family, the one thing…read moreeveryone could agree on was ice skating! We looked up different places and Have An Ice Day had the best online presence, and was geographically attractive for all parties in attendance. Conveniently located in downtown Sugar Hill, we had no issues finding parking and making the short walk over to the ice skating area. We waited in a very short line and were able to make payment and immediately obtain our ice skates. We didn't have to travel far to swap our feet out of our shoes for the ice skates, and we were steps away from the rink. There was plenty of seating all around for those who would rather watch than brave the ice. The area was clean and hand sanitizer was strategically placed and never far away. The rink itself was well kept and easy to glide across. There were many families and all were grooving to the music. When we needed to take a well deserved break, we decided to order snacks from the concession area. The snacks were affordable and the folks were very friendly. We stayed for several hours and while there were many people there, we felt it was never overcrowded. When we finally finished, we returned our skates and headed up the stairs in the amphitheater area of downtown Sugar Hill to grab dinner. We made lots of memories and took plenty of great pictures. We hope to go back next year!

So recommend arriving late afternoon if possible on the weekend! On site, they have a concession stand in which the kids enjoyed the hot chocolate to warm up! They also had nachos, chips, etc. The rink is well maintained and smooth, which I appreciate! The staff took 30min break removing all skaters while they maintained the rink and we were able to return after. Staff was attentive and skated around to help those that fell! Only dislike is the the skate trainers they offer which was metal, low and not too supportive for my little one! We'll definitely be back! Had a great time!

We were there for 4 hours and there was a steady flow of people of all ages the whole time. The staff is very friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. There was also a DJ that got there around 5 and he was great too! He was willing to play songs that we suggested even though he had his own mix to play. They also played tag a few times and a couple of employees hopped into the game too, it was great! The staff were also very interactive with the kids. While skating, I noticed that it looked like a piece of the skate was missing and when showing it to an employee he immediately had me take them off and provided me with a new pair--no questions asked. The facility was clean and well organized, it included a skate rink, arcade, jungle gym, food, and laser tag-- I will definitely return. Just a heads up, you have to pay admission and show rental separately, but they have a lot of events and deals. For me and my siblings, it totaled to about $44.

For our group of 4 adults and 2 kids, we opted for the Scaly Mountain Screamer and the tubing. What a great time - I've seen footage of mountain coaster rides from Europe, but never had encountered it in the US. You can ride tandem on them which is convenient if you have kids and the speed is all up to you as you control it with a hand brake. Both of the kids in our group ended up doing it multiple times and each circuit gives you some great views of the forest and beautiful wilderness as you speed on by. One of the coolest aspects of the Scaly Mountain Screamer is that they not only clock your speed - each car has a go pro where you can buy the video, which everyone did. Once we had our fill of the screamer, we went to the tubing which was a surprisingly good time. The tubing track is lubricated with misters all the way down, so you get some great speed and keep cool at the same time and apparently they cover the hill in snow during the winter for some snow tubing. I would say that a stop at the Highlands Outpost is a must do for anyone, big or small. While definitely family centric, after riding on the Scaly Mountain Screamer and doing the Extreme tubing, I think its safe to say people of all ages will have fun here, especially given that you can trout fish as well. The group in front of us left with a whole mess of trout to cook up. We will be back here again to have more fun tubing and trying to beat our speed scores on the screamer and you should too.
