I pointed out that I've only ever had work done at their shop; logically, it would have been one of their own mechanics. They immediately denied any responsibility, claiming it couldn't have been them. Rather than argue, I accepted their explanation at face value, and paid my bill in full and respectfully let them know that I'd no longer be bringing my business there. They left a typed letter and $20 in cash under the invoice on my front seat; not as a sincere gesture, but as a passive-aggressive parting shot. The letter reiterated that they didn't think it was their fault and criticized me for bringing my own oil and filter (something they had never brought up as an issue before). It was unprofessional, unnecessary, and left a bad impression. Ironically, their education of bringing my own oil made me realize it's better to support local shops by letting them supply parts too; something I would've been happy to do for them had they addressed it professionally. This shop had all the opportunity to maintain a long-term customer relationship, but instead chose defensiveness and condescension. I can't recommend West Penn to anyone looking for professional, honest service.

After getting my wheels rotated during one specific visit, I was experiencing a thumping/rattling noise when turning my wheels. Come to find out, one of the front wheels was extremely loose, turns out lug nuts were not tightened. After this mishap, I decided to bring my vehicle to a different mechanic when experiencing issues with the engine. Upon further inspection, the vehicle actually had two other major underlying structural issues including a completely rotted frame. I was told that if I were to drive over train tracks too fast, the vehicle would completely slide off the frame. I wish I could say West Penn was vigilant enough to discover this issue months earlier considering their friendly staff and low prices. I will not be returning.

I ended up being stuck on the side of the road because the radiator hoses were not installed properly and then I had antifreeze all of the engine bay of my jeep and all over the road. I was missing the install clips and the electrical cover and with the jeep system not being reset the dash lit up with dash lights I had to look up in my manual while I waited for help.

I did not need a diagnosis it was in for a simple distributor cap replacement rotor, and plug wires. They took it on their own to replace the spark plugs which they were replaced over a month ago and hit me with three labor charges, which that was a simple job and taken more than an hour to do. They took it on their own to do a diagnosis because I didn't listen charged me three labor charges and $792 later had to pay it I'm not happy. I hope people start looking at their from this place and pay attention. Also what they charge in parts is crazy. It is far more 30 to 50 places charged profit distributor cap and rotor should only cost around 30 bucks not over $100 sure places in business need to make a profit to survive they don't need to kill the public in profit and I feel for that simple job I got raped I also called a few other mechanics and they simply told me at the minimum $300 maximum $400 job. So pay attention to what you're doing and pay attention to your bills from this place because as I said three labor charges on job is for the birds.
