I am obsessed with Lyons! When I was a kid, my grandma used to take me here to get ice cream and now as an adult I live very close and come at least once a week with my family. Their custard is very delicious, but I absolutely love that they have dole whip. They changed the whip flavors every week and everyone I've had is great. My personal favorite is the strawberry and mango. The other thing I love about Lyons is the price prices. It is so very reasonable. Definitely check this place out! read more

Lyon's has been in this location in St. Charles since I was a lil kid. My Grandma used to take me to the library then Lyon's :) (library is next door). So anytime I am in the area and they are open - I stop in. My go-to is a strawberry custard, but everything here is good. They have sundaes, concretes, etc. Lots of variety! They are seasonal and recently opened back up for summer. They have walk up service with a nice pavilion in the front if you want to sit and enjoy or drive thru service if you are on the go. I finally found a frozen custard place that reminds me of my childhood favorite(Spankys in South County which is now closed)! So many fantastic flavor combinations. Oh, my goodness, Lyon's has given me a little bit of Hawaii in the Midwest! Dole Whip is here! I just tried a small cone, and it is dee-licious! I drove past one time too many. I couldn't resist, I had to stop and try it. Fantastic custard. The friendly employees will provide amazing service that leaves a smile on your face. They have Dole Soft Serve. You can get your Dole Whip fix here. If you're looking for a higher calorie treat, they have the usual custard additives plus some novel options you may not have seen anywhere else. They have a build sheet up in a window that will tell you exactly what's in most of the specialty concrete menu items. I suppose that could be handy if you have allergies to worry about. read more

They have a gazebo and picnic tables out in front for you to enjoy your frozen delights. Awesome frozen custard and sundaes, large portion sizes and super nostalgic-cute. The fruit toppings are very sweet. Came here for a turtle sundae and boy was it good. Lyons Custard has so many options, but I went for the turtle which is a family favorite. And it didn't disappoint. Glad I only got the medium. Got the kids smalls and they could barely eat half of them. There was a lack of consistency, however, as they put salted pecans on their small sundaes but not on my medium sundae. Strange! They have picnic tables and a nice gazebo. I'll be back! read more

I've passed by Lyons Custard quite a few times but never stopped. Tonight we did. I got a small cone dipped in chocolate. It was pretty good! The custard was rich and creamy. It was every bit as good as some of the other big locals. I will definitely be back! Nothing better than frozen custard in the summer! read more

Tastiest frozen custard in St. Charles!! Always worth the trip. The concretes are thick and creamy, and the toppings in them are just the right amount! Going to Lyons is list a blast from the past. Lyons has been a St. Charles fixture for decades. The young people who work here are always upbeat and happy to serve the people of St. Charles. The concretes are awesome, but my favorite Lyons treat is the slushie, which is available in about 20 flavors. A Lyons slushie is the perfect treat on a hot day, after visiting the library right next door. read more

Meh. We came here after trying Allin's down the road and I decided to get a chocolate dipped cone. Bad idea.... It tasted like SOAP. Yes, you read the right. Soap. I guess they didn't flush the container out with water thoroughly enough. Decided to make this 3 instead of 2 stars b/c I tried Sean's Oreo concrete and it was decent. Still...meh. Maybe I will give them another shot. Also, the animals painted on the side are kinda creepy and remind me of carnival kiddie rides. *shivers* read more

ok, so I was just in the STL area on business and just happened to run across this place and...well, to put it simply, it was GLORIOUS! So there is not really any new idea at this place, they are just very good at what they do. I got a "concrete" which is essentially a Blizzard, but there is a huge list of mix-ins to chose from (I got cookie dough and rice krispie treats) and you even have the luxury of selecting the delicious vanilla sugar-free fro yo as your ice cream for it. I couldn't have asked for much more. I can't speak for the entire menu, but this is one place you have got to check out if for no other reason then to grab a concrete. read more

I grew up in Saint Charles and this place has been a staple for my family and I. Their chocolate custard is my favorite, but everything I've had is great. They offer free strawberry shortcakes to mothers on Mothers Day, same for the dads on Father's Day. The service is always fast and friendly. My favorite ice cream place hands down. read more

Came here on a slow Tuesday evening in August with my brother and sister-in-law. Only ones here. The custard is ok, not great. It also isn't very cold and is practically melted having just ate half of a small concrete. (And it was only 75 degrees out) The girls making it seemed more concerned with giggling and making jokes than getting my order right. One concrete was supposed to be marshmallow, graham cracker, and chocolate chips, yet ended up with peanut butter cups. Good thing I didn't have my son with me who is allergic peanuts. Just an average outdoor summertime ice cream place. read more

We don't stop by all the time, but whenever we do, the Turtle Sundae is always our go-to. It's hands down our favorite and never disappoints. The St. Charles location, across from Lindenwood University, has become such a great gathering place for the community. After a long day at cheer camp, my daughter and her friends wanted somewhere to relax, celebrate, and spend time together, and Andy's was the perfect choice. It was fun seeing so many other cheerleaders doing the exact same thing--sharing laughs, making memories, and enjoying a well-earned frozen treat. I really appreciate having a place like this in the community where kids and families can meet up, unwind, and enjoy quality time together. Great custard, a welcoming atmosphere, and lots of happy memories keep us coming back.

I utilized the drive thru on this visit. Service was fast and friendly. It was hard to choose between a concrete, a jackhammer or a sundae. I finally decided on a small concrete with almonds, coconut and melted chocolate. It was very good and everything tasted fresh.

This family owned business is awesome . They handmade there own drumsticks! The kt and cm are awesome. Who doesn't like Oreo or cookie dough on ice cream dipped in chocolate!! Yes please. You can pick one of their own flavors for concretes or come up with your own! You can basically customize anything you want. Great place to take the family and the dogs! It's fun to sit in the gazebo but if you don't have time but still have a sweet tooth they also have a drive thru. No public restroom but the library is right next door. Must stop by if in town. Great place! They do have a sugar free option as well. read more

The chocolate custard is really good, but everything else I've ordered wasn't anything great, the marshmallow concrete tasted like chemicals and the vanilla was boring. That being said, I'll be back to try more flavors to give it a fair shot but I'd rather drive to Ted Drewes to be perfectly honest. read more

I went with the Rico Suave, which is vanilla frozen custard with Oreos and toasted pecans, with hot fudge in the center. It was good, but honestly, I think I should have stuck with my usual order! My biggest issue was that the hot fudge in the center wasn't really mixed throughout, so I didn't feel like I was getting as much of it as I would have liked. I also felt like there weren't quite as many toppings as I usually get with a sundae. One bonus was that I got a reusable plastic cup, which I thought was a fun little perk. The staff was super friendly, as always, and the line moved incredibly fast. Even though this particular treat didn't become my new favorite, I'll definitely be back. Next time, though, I'm probably going straight back to my trusty turtle!
