Great stuff for adventure travel - we are going up the Amazon River in 2 months. But it was Erin who really helped us sort it all out. We were impressed with her extensive knowledge of the product lines. When something did not quite seem to be working right, or even when we just asked a question, she had suggestions. Five stars for Exofficio's clothing, which has quickly become a staple in my wardrobe because of their innovative design (I always get compliments on my FlyQ jacket with the hidden pocket in the sleeve) and because of their excellent customer service. True story: I once wrote them to find out how to patch a run in the same jacket I just bragged about. They wrote back the same day and told me how to fix it DIY-style for the lo-lo. Now that's service. Sadly, I can't say the same for this location at Bellevue Square. One of the reasons I was excited to move back home was because of being in close proximity to Exofficio retail stores. I tried to make it to the downtown store but it closes at 6 most days and I really, really needed some pieces for a trip I was taking at the end of the week. This location is open until 9:30. I was able to make it in around 9. First of all, you'd think that in a store where a pair of shorts costs 70.00+ the sales person would be crawling up your a-- to ASSist you. Not so. I didn't get a greeting, an "I'll be with you in a moment," or a "I know you are here, let me know if you need anything." I clearly struggled getting down dresses that were on a high tier (short people problems), and still the one salesperson in the store at that hour stood behind the counter doing Lordt (it's a word) knows what. I asked to start a dressing room and she didn't even move to take the clothes out of my hands. In fact, I'm kind of pissed at myself for even buying clothes in that store and giving her the commission, if she gets one. She made the requisite small talk while ringing me up and that was it. Finally, I love Exofficio but I don't like paying 60.00 for a tank top. I love their sales, but this store has ZERO clearance or sales racks. You pay full price for everything in there, which is another reason - aside from the abysmally lacking customer service - that I will not be back. This is ExOfficio's new location: in Bellevue Square Mall, on the second floor, on the same aisle as Auntie Annie's pretzels (just a bit north of this pretzel shop). Our family allergist has recommended this store to us often, advising us to purchase insect-repellant clothing for one of my kids who is very attractive to bugs, and who gets bitten to death in the summer months. It was always problematic to go to this store when it was located on Bellevue Way, down by Palomino Rustica, so I was super happy that this placed moved into the mall proper! I had planned on getting my kid lots of this specialty clothing. So I entered this store to look around and to redeem a gift certificate I had received at a Bell Square fashion show about 6 weeks ago. The coupon was for a free bug repellant bandana which I had planned on giving to my kid when she goes to camp in a few weeks. However, when I presented it to the lady behind the counter, she quickly pointed out that it was from "months ago" and she pointed out the tiny fine print on the bottom : "expires 5/26/15". Argh! I missed the expiration date by about 10 days. Still, here I am, in your store, expressing interest in getting this bandana for my kid who attracts bugs like bears to honey. You'd think the saleslady might have bent the rules and given me a dang bandana, or offered me a substitute of sorts, or even offered one to me to buy, or show me the rest of this bug repellant line of clothing. Anything but dismiss me, me, a potential customer! She said not a word as I turned and walked away. I realize this was my error in not seeing the tiny expiration date on the coupon, but still, from a customer service perspective, her dismissing me was a very poor business move. Not only did I not purchase anything, but I wasn't shown anything either, and I doubt I'll ever return to this store again. read more

They both went out of their way to help me with a price adjustment that involved a fairly tedious process. They were both super friendly and were genuinely kind and helpful. High-quality products & superior customer service I became a fan of ExOfficio after stumbling across the store at SeaTac and buying a Sol Cool shirt off the sale rack. This has become my go-to shirt for walks - in addition to the advertised sun protection, I was surprised that it really did keep me cool during hikes, even on hot and humid days. I love the feel of the silky, smooth fabric and the flattering fit. But best for me as a tall woman - the sleeves are long enough (would probably provide some coverage of the hands for those lucky folks with average length arms!). I visited the Bellevue Square store because I needed some more gear for an upcoming safari trip. I was so impressed by the outstanding customer service offered by assistant, Melvin, and store manager, Tom. Started with a genuinely warm welcome and then continued with very patient assistance finding clothing to fit my tall frame. They were both so helpful and knowledgeable about their products. I purchased a Sol Cool hoodie and an insect-shield BugsAway Sol Cool jacket. Only thing I couldn't find was pants - just wish they offered them in a tall size. I wandered into this place because I'm planning on doing a lot of hiking this summer, and one of my friends said that their clothes are amazing. The manager, Tom, was super helpful in explaining their technology and showing me different fits. I'm the kind of person that really doesn't like having sales people on me all the time; especially in a clothing store, I just want space to look. Tom didn't hover over me, but he was always there when I needed something. Seattle is so outdoorsy, I can't believe that this was the first I've heard of Exofficio. I definitely recommend checking them out for anyone who likes to spend time outside! read more
