Selenia listened closely, never revealing that she was an esthetician with over 26 years of experience. I thought she was just a friendly fellow shopper! After sharing she gently mentioned that she would be willing to have my son come in for an evaluation at no charge and give me her opinion. Three days later we went to Selenia's Skin Boutique at 7:00pm on a Monday. There was no rush and she created the space for my son to settle in and get comfortable. After her evaluation, she was confidence that she could help and felt that he could avoid using Accutane. My son's skin looked much better after the first facial. We returned two weeks later and she continued to work on the various kinds of congestion including what was inside of his ears. He is back for his third facial and everything is moving in the right direction! I feel confident that Selenia will help my son continue to resolve his acne, eliminate scaring and teaching him how to care for his skin, including when to see a professional. I am incredibly grateful for Selenia's Skin Boutique. Finally, I want to mention that the prices are very reasonable, hours extremely accommodating, and there is absolutely no rush. Massage booked for Dec 2 The *morning* of Dec 2 I get a phone call from her cancelling the appointment saying she was sick and she'd contact me to reschedule as soon as she gets to the office. A week passed -- nothing. I emailed her giving her dates & times I'm free. It's been a month and haven't heard back. Really unprofessional! I could've been a client (and a generous repeat client too) and her attitude left a bad taste in my mouth. My wife and I don't get massages regularly, but we've both had our fair share to know what one should feel like before and after. When my wife went to get a massage from Barbara, Barbara would not listen when my wife told her not to push so hard. After the massage, my wife had back pain (not muscle soreness but problematic pain) for several days. I thought maybe it was a fluke until I went in for my massage. I prefer deep tissue massages and Barbara was more than accommodating. I must mention that when I arrived a few minutes late due to traffic Barbara was rude to me about it. Although, I think she is just rather blunt which is not necessarily a bad thing. Now for the massage. During the massage, which really hurt in the wrong ways, I was scratched several times by her fingernails. When I got home, my back looked like I had been attacked by a rabid raccoon and it wasn't just because of the long fingernails.. Some bruises are normal after a deep tissue massage, but this was really bad. Ultimately, the problem came from Barbara pinching a lot of skin and not getting into the muscle. This is also why after the massage I was extremely light-headed which has never happened before after I got a deep tissue massage. Again, Barbara seemed to hit more bone and skin than muscle. I"m sure her other services are great, but the massages are downright dangerous and not done properly.
