I came in today , and immediately the front desk was trying to have me purchase additional extractions or a different type of facial that is more expensive , she said " you have acne this facial isn't suited for you" I told her kindly I actually don't have acne , I have a dermatologist and yes I do have acne scars but I have not a single active pimple or skin that needed many extractions . She said they would only do extractions on my nose and lips and I said that was perfect for me . They take me to the room and leave the room so I can change out of my shirt . MIND YOU THIS IS A 60 MINUTE FACIAL . I paid for a 60 minute facial which means I expect 60 mins worth of service . It took her 5 minutes to come back to the room . There was no sink for her to wash her hands and I didn't see her put on hand sanitizer . She washed my face and then applied an exfoliator that felt like tree hut scrub . She then left the room for 10 more minutes at this point we have only gotten to exfoliation and she already hasn't been on the room for 15 minutes ..... she comes back and puts this ultrasonic device that is usually used for extractions , she put no pressure and no extractions nor dead skin was taken off . She then gives me the shittiest facial massage . No technique , no pressure , just slathering thick cream on my face this goes on for about 10 minutes and then she slathers a mask on me and leaves for the rest of the appointment . I laid there for 15-20 mins just wondering where she left . Usually during a mask , estheticians will find something to do like a scalp massage or anything really that is providing a service in that downtime . She comes back takes off the mask and this point I'm really upset . I try to walk out the door , and the front desk harassed me about a tip I told her it was the worse facial I have ever received I will definitely not be tipping . Not only am I going to dispute this with my bank but I am absolutely reporting this place to the board of Estheticians. There is no way this lady went though any formal training . You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for this SCAM . You should t have to scam people out of money . Definitely did not receive the service i paid for .

I am new to the area and new to Yelp. I was interested in getting an IPL and a friend of mine told me Yelp was a great place to check out different businesses. I saw a deal for an IPL so I thought I would check out Skin Savvy. They had great reviews so I decided to buy the deal. When I called to make my appointment, the girl on the phone was very nice and informative. They had a cancellation the next day so I was added right in. I was instantly happy with my decision and excited to get my treatment. I got to my appointment about 5 minutes early and sat down to fill out my paperwork and there I sat for the next 20 minutes listening to the hair dresser yell over her blow dryer, while freezing because it was colder in there then it was outside. The hair dresser was using bad language and the whole place seemed chaotic with all the noise. I think of spa treatments as a relaxing thing that I do for myself and this place was anything but that. The nurse finally came out and apologized for running late. At this point she offered me wine which I thought was a little odd since it was early afternoon. She sat down next to me to start our chat and her phone starts singing very loudly from the other room, some obnoxious song, and she says excuse me and goes and talks on the phone for about 5 minutes before she came back out. She seemed really nice, sweet, and knowledgeable but I was totally turned off. After talking for a bit we went into her back room and we did the treatment. It was very standard, I have done these before and everything she did seemed fine. We had a nice conversation where she seemed very interested in learning about my life. When I was done I was told that I probably needed 2 more of these and that I could get them as a package and save some money but I wasn't interested in ever coming back. Everyone seemed very nice but the environment was very unprofessional and as I was leaving, I noticed that someone had their dog running around, very unsanitary. read more

I've been going to Skin Savvy for my laser hair removal for the past 6 months and am basically hairless!! I still have a few more treatments left but I barely even have to shave now. Diana makes the process sooo pain-FREE and very comfortable. The whole Skin Savvy staff is so friendly and positive that when you walk into the cute spa you immediately feel relaxed. I was a little nervous the first time I went to start the laser hair removal process but Jen put all my worries to rest when she explained how simple the process was. Now I look forward to it. They give you a numbing cream to apply before and it reduces any pain you may feel. Now that most of my hair is gone the treatments are starting to feel more and more like a massage haha. Before I started this process I used to wax... But now I can't imagine ever waxing again. Waxing would cause my skin to develop ingrown hairs and the laser completely solved that problem. It might sound weird that my friends notice this buttttt I've never gotten so many compliments on how hairless & smooth my armpits look. I've looked into other places for laser hair removal but none of them can compare to Skin Savvy! I highly recommend to anyone in the LA area in need of laser hair removal or any spa/cosmetic needs to book an appointment. :) read more

Skin Savvy is amazing!! I was referred there over a year ago now by at least 5 different people, all with the same opinion of Skin Savvy that I now have. Jen and Sandra are both the sweetest and are always very accommodating as far as scheduling and my account. I've never once had an appointment cancelled or felt like someone was just trying to sell me a service, plus the prices are totally reasonable. They are both super friendly and Jen always makes you feel really comfortable...I actually look forward to my appointments, and it's laser hair removal...uh how many people can say that? Jen is really knowledgeable about all the treatments they offer and I've never once felt like I wasn't going to a true professional, not to mention my results have been beyond amazing. I seriously can't say enough good stuff about Skin Savvy, they are simply the best. If you are thinking about getting any sort of skin care procedure then you absolutely have to go to them. I recently visited Skin Savvy for Botox, and I had an excellent experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. Sophia is incredibly knowledgeable and guided me through the process, explaining exactly what I needed. I appreciated the transparency with pricing, which is so rare--most places don't reveal it until the end. Although I couldn't get all the services recommended, I was still able to receive the treatment I needed at that time, and I never felt pressured to do more than what was right for me. Sophia truly cared about my skin, and I felt very comfortable with her expertise. The clinic itself is cozy, clean, and welcoming, and the delicious coffee was a nice touch! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and I loved the reminder they sent, as I'm always juggling a busy schedule. Parking was easy, and overall, I highly recommend Skin Savvy. I love Skin Savve and I love my skin! I have very thankfully had many friends ask me what I do to keep my skin looking so good (that is a huge compliment and means a lot) ~ I send them all to Jen. First of all, there is no pretentious atmosphere here. The place is beautiful and professional but we live at the beach and it has that great vibe (which is why we all live here!). Collette makes sure you are taken care of you as well. Jen will never try to "upsell" you or pressure you. I think what people really like about Jen (besides her skills) is that she will honestly tell you what you need and DON'T. (Somehow she does this without hurting the ego but still managing to tell you what your skin needs, no holds barred). i've been with jen for over a year now and can happily say i'll b a long term client. she takes the time to talk over your planned treatments and helps out by keeping the prices as cost friendly as possible. she also makes you feel comfortable to the point that you forget you're getting laser treatments and end up just chatting away. it's good to have a person who is not only careful and cautious about your skin but also admires you, welcomes you and treats you well regardless of what you plan on having done. the staff is efficient and the place expanded to doing haircuts with well experienced members on the staff. Skin Savvy is the hands down BEST "med spa" in the South Bay. I've had INCREDIBLE results and have come to think of the women who work there as true friends. There's NEVER any hard sell/upsell to contend with. My daughters face got worse ( yes I know that happens ) but it got worse and worse and never better. I took all of the products to our dermatologist and she said that's way too much stuff - you're overloading her skin. Per the MD we started using differin ( OTC) with benzoyl peroxide ( OTC ) and a prescription sulfur based medicine ( 5 bucks with insurance ) and a basic face wash - Cetaphil ( 10 bucks ) and her face was clear in one month !!!!! It's absolutely amazing !!! I probably spent over 500 bucks at this place and now I have a bag full of products which I'll never use. She's so happy
