My mom and I came here with Groupons for the 75 minute customized facial. I believe we both had Lina (we went on separate days, back to back) and she was very good! Lina gave me the most amazing facial massage I've ever had and explained all of the steps that she was doing. I enjoyed the different masks that felt cold on my skin, it was a nice feeling! None of the products used burnt or irritated my skin. My mom said this was the best facial she's ever had and I've gifted her many over the years! The only two downsides to this establishment was 1. The parking which took me 20 minutes, the area is kind of weird and doesn't have much street parking and 2. The room I was in was right next to the front desk so I could hear people loudly talking. This must have been the worst facial I have ever received!!! Very disappointed. Booked a deep pore detox facial which is 65 minutes long for $105. Was left alone in the room with a face mask on for almost half of it. I have gotten close to a hundred facials in the last decade and have never had an esthetician get up and leave the room for any extended period of time. I was so shocked I literally ripped off my mask and was looking around for her. Not to mention they are an eminence salon but it was very obvious that they were not using eminence products or very few of. See attached photo. At check out I confronted the esthetician and asked her if it was normal to leave a client for 25 min during the facial and she responded that if I wanted her to stay in the room I would have had to pay for the Mother's Day special which was $109 in comparison to my 65 minute facial that was $105 lol read more

I am very uphappy with my service as it was not worth the money at all. I opted for an organic facial as I have very sensitive skin and a salicylic acid allergy (which tends to be in a lot of masks/moisturizers/beauty products). The description reads that the facial uses ingredients such as avocado, green tea, and a few other "edible nutrients", which I am quoting directly. The description also says the facial comes with a seaweed mask. This description is completely misleading because the only masks that were put on me were Clarins products and some other generic brand items- nothing actually "edible" or truly organic was used. I've also had seaweed masks at other spas and SkinStation did not use one during my facial. At the end of my facial I asked why I didn't get a seaweed mask and they told me the base mask had seaweed in it... arguably there is a difference between a true seaweed mask and a mask with a seaweed ingredient in it, thus making the facial description completely misleading. As far as cleaning out my skin, they did extractions for maybe 5-7 minute tops. My skin looks exactly the same as when I entered. I still have a face full of black heads which I listed as my preferred area of concentration during signing in for my facial. This brings me to the price- I had an expired groupon which I paid $49 for which I was able to use the value of, and in addition I had to pay the difference of $92+ for the facial. The facial in total cost me over $140. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because I will be honest and say the place is very clean. In summary I paid over $140 for them to put about 5 masks, give a short face massage, and do minimal extractions (which was the whole point of me getting a facial). I could buy 5 maks online for $20 and do this same thing at home and save myself a lot of money. read more

I went there for scrub and sew weed wrap today (I had a Groupon) and could not be happier with the service. Everything was amazing; I felt so pampered, refreshed and taken care of. 5 stars for the Botinol facial I received. 1 star for the venue. Maybe I'm a snob, but I prefer to undress in a private room. I also prefer to have my facial done in a private room. This place is like a spa for sardines. I was surprised when I walked into the facial room and saw that there were beds lined up beside one another... all occupied with others getting facials. The esthetician handed me a robe to put on and I looked at her like, you want me to get naked in front of these 10 other people? Whatever. I took my shirt off, put on the robe and hopped on to the bed. I found it hard to relax because the estheticians were chit chatting the whole time. I felt like I was in cheap Manhattan nail salon. After about 2 hours and $180, my facial was complete and my face was like a baby's bum. The massage was great. The only problem I had was when it was time to tip for the service. I wanted to tip $5 and then I was told that I had to give $10 tip for a massage as if it were a rule. I gave a $10 tip after it was requested. I just don't think that it's professional to tell someone how much you should tip. If you're not getting paid enough, you shouldn't project that on the customer. All else was fine. read more

However I did appreciate that they managed to fit me in at the very last minute and my face was not scarred. The facial was thorough, relaxing, and left my skin feeling fresh, clean, and youthful. I started with a groupon and then was offered a great package deal. When I call for an appointment and it goes to voicemail my call is returned within 5 minutes. They are very accommodating. Lee is always so nice and respectable. She always makes me feel relaxed and comfortable. The spa is very clean, spells nice and when I am in the room I do not hear anything outside of the room. I have been to other skin stations and this is my favorite. I would recommend this spa is everyone. I had never had a facial before, so I didn't know what to expect. I walked in and was greeted kindly, asked if I wanted some water. Then they had me come back for a facial, they analyzed my skin and decided that the basic facial was best. They did the cleanser and the mask and I even got a brow shaping and a steam treatment! They even went at it on my black heads, the pain was a little uncomfortable, but my nose had never looked clearer!! I loved my experience at Skin Station Old Town. The service is very friendly and I like the calming atmosphere. I used to come here to get my eyebrows waxed when I lived in the area. They do spend a very long time trimming, waxing, and shaping your brows. Only problem is, I would walk out with uneven eyebrows. I didn't even notice it until I started getting my brows threaded which really is the way to go, and the lady brought it to my attention. It was calming and relaxing. The place was clean a little chilly for a massage but none the less I enjoyed. The only complaint I have is she spent too much time on my neck and shoulder area but I will tell her the next time. I ended up buying the package of 5 massages or facials. I purchased a group in for 1 hour facial & 1 hour massage. The massage was not the best. My shoulders and neck are pretty sore today. They only massage your backside, no turning over for front side which I never really experienced only one side before. The facial was the best part. My skin feels amazing. They do try to sell you Clarins products afterwards which is ironic bc I checked out the stuff they used while I was getting dressed and it was all Asian stuff with Asian writing. So I opted not to. I went to Skin Station in Staten Island a couple of weeks ago. It was highly recommended from a close friend. I've found this establishment's decor is very contemporary and very clean. It was very comfortable to be in. The staff were all very friendly and professional. I went in for a facial, the technician was very polite, and her techniques were flawless. Normally with other spa the clearing of the pores can be somewhat painful at times. But this spa, this technician was so well trained that I was falling to sleep due to the light and smooth maneuvers and the pleasant music playing in the room.
