The new receptionist is not well trained to handle customers. I got penalized for purchasing a package back in 2018 and did not finish using up until today by charging me for double sessions for a very basic facial. Horrible experience. Purchased a Groupon for a Deep Pore Facial with a shoulder massage. I did not received the service that I paid for. The esthetician, May had no clue what she was doing. I had to remind her that she didn't do the shoulder massage; she argued with me and said that she did it and buckled down on her statement and said that I just didn't feel the massage. This place is amazing! I came here using a groupon facial deal and at checkout was asked if I wanted to buy a package if 5 discounted services that could be redeemed for facials OR massages. I have already gone for one follow up (cashed in for a massage) and have a facial appointment next week. The facial was thorough, painless and the technician really took her time doing extractions and masks. I would classify the massage as "the good kind of painful". I walked out feeling sore, but all my knots and stiffness were alleviated and I felt progressively better each day after. Staff here are attentive and the spa is clean. They do not try to upsell products, but actually do sell a nice array of premium skincare including PCA products. The deals make it an easy choice for self care and relaxation. I was greeted once I walked through the door. I purchased a Groupon for the 80 minute hydrodermabrasion facial. It was my first time getting a hydrodermabrasion facial so I went in not knowing what to expect. I filled out a form on the iPad when I have arrived and once I finished, I was taken into a room. No wait time although I went in earlier than my scheduled appointment time. I changed, and my esthetician knocked to see if it was okay for her to come in. The process got started quickly and she began by giving my face a good cleanse. The facial massages are to die for. She did the facial massage while steaming my face in preparations for the extraction. It felt super relaxing and nice. She applied just the right amount of pressure. Other spas that I've been to, they didn't apply as much pressure as this esthetician. Then she moved on to the shoulders and she was quick to notice that I carry my bag on my left shoulder a lot, if not all the time and she tried to release that tension. Then came the microdermabrasion I'm assuming. It felt like a small vacuum running across my face with water coming out of it at the same time. After that was ran all over my face once, came most dreadful part. Extractions! It was painful, but not unbearable. She tried to be as gentle as she can and also gave me a lot of skincare tips while doing so. She explained to me that I didn't have much blackheads, but had other spots on my face and how to prevent them. Really appreciate her tips! Then there was a cold machine running across my face with perhaps a toner or essence. It felt super good! Then I had a cold mask that was left in for about 20 minutes then she came back to remove it and apply toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen on my face. Although I was a Groupon customer, I did not feel like they treated me any different from a regular customer. Some places will treat their customers different because they have a Groupon. They did not try to sell me any of their products or other services. However, they did try to sell me a package for the facial I did and offered me to leave a security deposit for the deal they have for me only for today. I didn't take the offer because I'm just not sure if I want to get the same facial 5 more times. I came here for from a Groupon of $64 for a combo of 1 hour facial and 1-hour massage. They offer you tea or water upon your arrival. I come here to be relaxed and not do math. The thing that I noticed that is when you are filling the forms out and then you see the mandated tipping chart which is very organized differentiating the percentage of 15%, 20% or $30% of the actual retail value-not your Groupon value. And since there are two ppl working on you for the combo, you have to tip twice. Very thorough with the facial and someone else does the massage. I never felt so relaxed, when the lady gave me a mirror to admire my lovely baby smooth face I almost dropped it cause I forgot how to use my hands. I don't have any proof but I did a custom facial as she recommended, and let me tell you she worked so hard to remove my blackhead I wished I was getting a piercing instead. I bought a groupon for an one hour facial with collagen eye mask with Michelle Zheng. It was not as great. She didn't really extracted my face clean. After the facial I saw more pimples and there are pimples that could be extracted out. However she was really gentle on my face. There wasn't much pain because she was gentle and I felt like she didn't do a good job. The collagen eye mask was just like a cotton pad soaked with essence and put on your eye. Did I see a difference after the facial ? NO would I recommend Michelle Zheng ? Maybe if you want a gentle person on your face Would I come back ? Booked a groupon for a one hour deep tissue massage because I was looking for a new facial place and wanted to test the waters with this place before splurging. I was a little scared from previous yelp review about trouble making appointments after mentioning Groupon but that wasn't the case for me, I called on Monday night and was able to schedule an appointment for Thursday night. When you come in the receptionist greets you and then you are asked to fill out a questionnaire about your concern areas and preferred level of strength I was ecstatic about this because I figured I would finally be able to get a masseuse who knows what I want without me having to feel bad and ask if they can apply more pressure here or massage here instead of here. (I circled upper body back pain as main focus area and requested DEEP massage as the strength level. I may be little but I can handle the pain. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for me I ended up with a 60 minute body rub, I read other yelpers mention their massage was strong and they left feeling amazing so I was really looking forward to this since I've had a lot of professional massages before and today I came in with a lot of knots in my back. When the girl came in and started my massage she asked if the pressure was okay I asked if she could use more pressure (I purposely didn't say a little more pressure because I wanted a lot more pressure)and she said okay but it wasn't much difference if there was any, so I figured okay maybe this is just the beginning and she's warming me up for the real deal later.. but sadly it didn't come. Minus on Star there since I felt like it was a waste of my time to fill out all the questions if it didn't really matter what I requested. After you're done the staff tries to sell you some of their products and I don't blame them for trying since I know this is a business but the other star got deducted (I wanted to deduct two stars) because when I tipped the lady didn't even say thank you which is rude and I tipped 15% of original price of a DEEP tissue massage when I am pretty sure all I got was just their regular signature massage because the knots in my back that I came in with was still there when I left and my back still hurts. A thank you would have been appreciated when receiving a tip otherwise it's just rude and I'm not sure if I was supposed to tip because she stood there for a bit then took the money without saying anything?! Their bed is quite uncomfortable because your head rest on an area where your neck is not completely relaxed when you're facing down, so I felt like she couldn't reach some of the areas that a normal masseuse usually massage like the center of my neck. And their pillow was wayyy too high when you're facing up because she couldn't even reach my neck when she tried to massage she was mainly stroking the pillow ...If you want to come here for a soft stroking body rub then this might be the place for you... staff are nice and serve you water or tea but they don't say thank you so i don't know if that's polite or not The offer they tried to sell me at the end of the Groupon session was $265 for five 1 hour massage sessions(comes out to $53..) quite expensive in my opinion when I can go to the massage parlors one block away where they actually use strength, they serve me tea and they say thank you too... guess what it only cost $35 there per session or $300 for 12 sessions and if I wanted to walk a few more blocks it cost $25 for a upper body massage and comes with a hair wash. read more

They asked me for my voucher number in order to make an appointment so I had to click on "view my voucher" and then at the same time I was doing so they said I've already been here and that there is a $15 fee. Okay it's been two days with my new microbladded brows and I am obsessed!! Darren is really amazing, honestly a true artist. My friends have been non stop complimenting me! Lesson learned. Purchased a Groupon for an organic facial, which was not bad, but left my skin looking ordinary, then a few hours later, I broke out in a rash. Strong regret: I was coaxed into the purchase of a multifacial package for $265 as a gift for my mom and 2 days later, she saw my rash, And I requested a refund. They refused. They have a strict no refunds policy. How do you obligate a client to pay for services they will never use? It is not as if I had a service and later demanded a refund, I wanted to cancel a pending transaction that had not yet happened. There is no financial injury to them. The service was not done. They offered me an alternative service or product. No thanks?! Im allergic to the products they use. Filed an arbitration dispute with my credit card and, thankfully, won, or I'd be forced to have 5 services at a spa that has officially topped my List of all time worst customer service salons. Sadly, due to poor customer service...I didn't get to experience the spa treatments at Skin Station. I had purchased a Groupon for a massage and facial...and the instant I mentioned it was a Groupon on the phone while making a reservation, the receptionist's demeanor changed completely. All of a sudden there wasn't an opening for the next month on the weekends, and after-work on a weekday was a no go since the latest Groupon massages were given at 3PM...even though Skin Station is open until 8PM, the later appointments were "reserved for members only." Receptionist very approachable and entire staff very accommodating as I called :30 min before I wanted to Book an appointment and they said ok, no problem. I had the massage first and the therapist was superior. I've been looking for a good, deep tissue massage and I finally found what I've been looking for. My therapist always asked if the pressure was too much or not enough which I appreciated. She really worked me over! I assume if one wanted they could request a Swedish massage if really deep tissue and pressure point massage is too much. This is not a relaxing massage, in fact, it was painful as she really got deep into problem areas. I felt like a new person afterwards and slept like a child the same evening. I couldn't thank her enough afterwards. The facial, like others have yelped about, was divine and much needed respite after having such an intense massage. Facialist couldn't have been more delightful and I walked out with beautiful skin, groomed eyebrows (included) and even when I didn't commit to buying the special on the spot they didn't make me feel like crap or that I wasted their time. Good move as I'll be back with or without a special promotion. They told me upfront tax was not included in groupon price which I knew about anyway as I use groupons all the time to test drive businesses. Went here from a LivingSocial hot stone massage deal. The massage therapist was good and was nice (though she kept insisting on speaking to me in Chinese). But they really need to upgrade their massage tables. It was very uncomfortable on my neck. It was the kind where the headrest isn't adjustable, which kind of defeats the purpose of getting a massage in the first place if it causes tension in your neck. Other than that, I enjoyed the hot stone massage (the stones were nice and hot, as I assume they should be). Also, as I was leaving, they informed me that the LivingSocial price did not include tax, so they charged me then. I've bought close to 10 massage deals on LS before and that's the first time that's ever happened. Not sure if it's just because it's Chinatown or what, but it left a bad taste. read more

The service was ok, the massages are decent but the facials are terrible. The creams they used smell really bad and I left here with a ton of red dots all over my forehead. The lady did "extractions" on my forehead but it clear for the most part. She worked on my nose and chin and those areas were fine but my forehead was clear to start with and after her finding random locations to "extract" now it looks like I have really bad acne on my forehead which I have never had before!! I went here for the first time recently and had a GREAT massage. I had Lili (or Leelee?) and would definitely ask for her next time I go back. She was really strong and powerful. I had a lot of neck and shoulder pain, so I wanted a strong massage. The only time I asked her to do it softer was on my feet, and she was gentler there. I got the 60-minute deep tissue massage, and it definitely lasted the full 60 min. (maybe 65!) The place looked clean, the receptionist was friendly, they offered me hot tea beforehand (it's winter) and cold water after. They asked if I needed to use the restroom before starting the massage. I really appreciated that they cover your hair while massaging your upper body (with some kind of sheet or paper towel, I didn't really see) so that massage oil doesn't get in your hair. Same thing for your underwear while massaging your lower body. I also liked that she wiped the massage oil off at the end with wet towels that were nice and hot. (Hate getting oil on my clothes, and hate lukewarm/cold towels!) They were professional and attentive to detail. Hang up your coat for you when you arrive, retrieve it when you're leaving, etc. I had a Groupon and feel like sometimes you don't get as good service (at some places) when using a Groupon, but that wasn't the case here. I made sure to tip based on the regular price. If you're worried about language because this place is in Chinatown and you don't speak Chinese, I wouldn't worry. When I called on the phone and went in person, the receptionists I interacted with were fluent in English. read more

I had previously written a lengthy review of my botched brows. I was offered a 2nd free touch up and asked to remove my review . I did and it seemed that the touch up was going to come out good . Over two weeks now my brows are still botched. It all began when the initial visit my brows were shaved . Which microbladding should not involve shaving like a tattoo. My microbladding started in February 2 touch ups and my eyebrows are ruined they won't grow back. So I have a thin line of natural hair and then unnatural looking grayish shading. After purchasing, I made my appointment which was super painless. I got it for exactly a week after. Upon arriving, I noticed it was quaint and looked as you'd imagine a spa would. The receptionist is very organized and very sweet. She got me in immediately. The room I was in was fine, I imagined it to be a little cleaner or more modern, but it served its purpose and wasn't unsanitary by any means. It could just use a good vacuum. As for my massage, it was a little rough and I had some points of discomfort. I could have asked her to be gentler, but I knew it'd feel nice afterwards. My facial was bliss! I adore this place!! I bought a Groupon for a 1 hour 15 minute facial with an eye treatment and a 1-hour massage. Both were fabulous. The facial, by Thien, was thorough and included extractions, which cost extra at most spas. My skin glowed literally for weeks afterwards, despite my usually acne-prone skin. The massage was also wonderful. My masseuse, Lenny, uses a combination of Thai and Swedish massage, to great effect. I used to live in Thailand and got Thai massages fairly regularly, but this was seriously one of the best. He worked out kinks that had been buried in my shoulders for what felt like years. Lenny! Love it! At the end of my session, the woman at the counter told me about a deal they were offering: 5 facials for $195. You guys. That is $39 per hour and fifteen-minute facial. She didn't push the sale at all, and I snapped it up. I went back for my first of 5 facials this weekend, and the facial (this time by Leng Leng) was just as good. Extractions: included. I bought a Groupon for eyebrow microblading plus touch up after 4 weeks. I already had a microblading with another technician and I wasn't happy at all, so I needed my eyebrows to be fixed. Yomi is the best! Sweet, gentle and attentive. She put on the numbing creme and then showed me all the needles she was about to use (a lot!), all brand new. As I have oily skin, I added the powder effect (I paid extra directly at the store) and I can't be happier of the result! I got many compliments from my girlfriends and I would recommend this place and Yomi to everyone! Despite a bit far from where I work and live, it's conveniently located near the N train (5 min walking distance), I will go back for sure for my touch up in 18 months. read more

I give this place a two and a half stars just to be fair. First off I got this package facial plus a massage as a gift. I decided to try it out as I usually go for facials and massages on a regular basis. I was a bit sceptical since this was from Groupon and the quality is a bit iffy. 1. Michele did an amazing job for the 1 hour body massage I will definitely go back to her. After the facial I got another lady which I do not wish to mention her name. ---She had to be the worst facial lady I have ever gotten in my entire life! Trust me I have been doing facials for a long time and have been to many different spas!! Terrible facial: First off all she was really sloppy and rushy, it was not relaxing at all. While washing my face she accidentally slapped me(not too hard) which I didn't mind it was an accident. Then came the "clearing" the skin which is picking out blackheads and removing the gunk from the pimples.. WORST job ever! For those who do facials regularly you know this part can be a bit painful but she didn't give a horses bottom about the pain and kept going when I was obviously twitching! The worst part!? She did the shittiest job at it! Pain for what!!??? Then the hot towel!!! Super hot!!!! Didn't give a sh*t!! My pimples became those hard ones which is the worst to take care of! So it's just stuck there not popping and not going down.. Like wtf lady!? And she has the guts to ask me do I go to facials on a regular??! Friendly service no complaints here I have to say. Received a couples massage with the BF. The receptionist and masseuse were very nice with a good demeanor. However my massage was too rough for me. After telling masseuse the massage was too rough, the massage still was too harsh. Later the same evening, I received red bruise marks and pain on my upper back from the intensity. I actually need a massage from the massage I just had. I'm stiff and sore, smdh. The facilities could have had a better "zen" feel as well. The environment was a bit cold and stiff if that makes sense. Th couples massage room was small and cramped, which was a little off-putting to relaxed. Both masseuses kept bumping into the beds. I wish this place was closer to my hood because it is great. Located in Brooklyn Chinatown, it is definitely a hike from where I live. I came on a Groupon and had no idea it would take me an hour and half to get there, but I do enjoy getting to parts of the city I wouldn't normally go to. Anyway, I was a little nervous when I walked in because the salon decor was a little outdated and not dirty but just kind of run down looking. The staff who greeted me were very friendly. I got the 60 minute facial and a 60 minute massage. Both of the ladies who provided the services were very sweet and let me know what they were doing at each step, especially the facial. She even cleaned up my brows, which was a nice added bonus. The extractions were very gentle - well as gentle as extractions can be. Afterwards my skin was glowing and I was surprised to have no spots of break outs afterwards. The massage therapist told me to make sure I told her if the pressure needed to be changed and I felt very comfortable with her. I didnt end up having to ask her to change anything, it was relaxing and all my neck and shoulder issues were gone afterwards. Went to skin station for my Groupon purchase- 1 hour massage and facial with eye mask. Massage was good, however I definitely did not get a full hour massage. I checked the time after she was done and she ended it at least 5 minutes early. Facial was not that great. The cleanser and products used did not smell pleasant and felt cheap on the face. Lady who did my massage and facial was very nice, however she seem new and didn't really do a good job on the facial tbh. Tipped on the original prices for the services. It was supposed to a relaxing 1 hour massage, instead it turned out to be very stressful. The front desk lady abruptly denied my groupon saying is 1 visit only with a group purchase. I have been there before , and nothing was ever mentioned to me. Trying to get a credit from groupon was impossible. Not worth the hassle . read more

Well, my tedious and frustrating search for a facialist has ended, thanks to Skin Station! I got the Groupon deal for a one-hour facial and one-hour signature massage, and, contrary to some other reviews, I had NO problem getting an appointment and it was on a Saturday. The receptionist was really friendly, and I was running late due to some train delays, and they were cool about it and understanding. I was appointed Sandy, who handled both my massage and facial. The massage was great and totally worth the double deal Groupon, but I was really blown away by the facial. I have been to about four estheticians in the last year, and it has varied from horrible to average - Sandy knew her stuff. The extraction was painful, but really detailed and well done - gloves were used, proper tools, and she knew what she was doing and warned me ahead of time if there would a particularly tough spot. I have oily, acne-prone skin, and I'm positive the results on this are going to be great. I really loved how she didn't make me feel bad about my skin - this is a hormonal thing that cropped up in my late teens that I've been battling for a decade, and so many other estheticians try to convince you a bunch of different special treatments will clear up a hormonal issue, but Sandy was up front right away and said she recognized that it was hormonal and I simply needed regular maintenance like anyone else. I ended up leaving with a 10-facial package with collagen mask (a special they're having for July) for $500 ... it sounds pricey, but it evens out to only $50 per treatment, when it's normally $85. I hope it's worth it, but I really felt this place wasn't pushy and irritating like so many other places are - I declined the first package offer since it was out of my price range for the services offered, and there was no guilt trip about how I have to spend loads of money to see results. I'm just super relieved I found a good, licensed, honest esthetician - and I really encourage anyone with the same situation to try it! read more
