The gentleman on the phone was courteous, friendly, and professional and made reserving the date and time a breeze. The day of the appointment we were greeted and asked to fill out a simple form. After my family member completed the form, she was taken to the back by a pleasant woman. I asked what time I should come back to pick up my family member and she was ready at the time they told me she would be. When I asked her about her experience she told me the lady was nice, professional, and knew her stuff. She also recommended some products for my family member. The really cool thing about the experience was that I immediately saw a notably nice different in my family members face/skin. Overall the vibe was cozy and warm. The space is nice and quaint and they have seamoss for purchase. I do recommend!

We called ahead and spoke with a gentleman who assured us (1) they were open on Yom Kippur; and (2) they were happy to accommodate my children and friends of mixed genders. When we arrived, the extremely unpleasant older woman at the front desk told us that Thursdays were for men only and turned us away very, very rudely -- despite the fact that the website says that men's only hours begin at 6 p.m.!! We were there around noon.) From the website (https://www.brooklynbanya.com/m): Men only hours: Tuesday 11am-11pm $60pp Thursday 6pm- 1am $60pp From what we could see and smell from the lobby, the place was dark, threadbare, and dingy, with a funky odor of mold mixed with perspiration and other unpleasant, unidentifiable things on top. So perhaps it was a cloud with a silver lining to be turned away. TLDR: - Awful communication. Info posted online is not honored or accurate. Info given verbally is not honored or accurate. - The space -- what we saw of it -- seemed dingy and dirty. - Staff are uninformed and extremely rude.

He had planned an evening of theatre, but I absolutely enjoy a chill evening+homemade brunch and wellness activities. He's been to AIRE prior, and I've had many massages locally in LA prior and always opt for the hot stone massage, this time couples massage which is what we did. It was cozy, relaxing, decompressing, and aromatic! Esp, on a snowy, 16 degrees outside wintery kinda Xmas holiday season. What a delight! We began our evening walking from the West Village, then upon entering Aire being greeted with warm tea my absolute fav drink besides an iced matcha. We were given wristbands and headed to our keyless entry lockers to robe up and descend into the jacuzzi, sauna, and cold plunge pools. It Feels like entering a gorgeous gothic cave. Strung abt are hundreds of real candles+exposed brick walls. Something we don't have in earthquake prone LA. Truly a romantic, and relaxing ambiance. After the messages, we grabbed our green juices and headed up to shower and dry the hairs on our heads with all the best products and Dyson hair equipment. Not lost on me. Thanks for a wonderful HBD evening, into night. What a beautiful, relaxing, healthy experience. It's the best, truly! Merry Christmas guys.

He booked a 90 minute massage at 8am, so I had until 11 to enjoy the baths before/after my massage. Once you enter, you're guided to a locker where you can change into your bathing suit and then go to the baths for a tour if it's your first time. There are a few different pools, each with their own temperature and/or benefits. Don't miss the bath upstairs with a beautiful skylight! My massage was an ok experience - pressure fluctuated throughout, so it was hard to pinpoint when to tell her to go harder or softer. Even though there were a lot of people, it didn't seem too crowded in each pool at any point. The ambience is very dark, calming, and relaxing. Not sure I would buy a pass just for the pools because there's only so much time I can spend in each. But it's a great treat

This place came highly recommended, but when we showed up, their systems were completely down. No one called us beforehand because they had no access to their system. To their credit, the front desk team was kind and allowed us free access to the spa facilities for two hours to check out the saunas, steam room, and snow room. We made the best of it and had a good time bopping around. However, their customer service recovery is nonexistent. It has been over a week since that visit and they are still holding onto my $700. Every time I call, I am routed to a call center agent who doesn't understand the situation and has no power to help me. Two emails to their billing center have gone completely unanswered. Keeping a customer's money for services you couldn't render due to your own tech failure is unacceptable. Since nobody there seems to know how to run the business or process a refund manually, I am moving forward with a bank dispute to reclaim my money. If you go here, pray their system doesn't crash, because you will never see your money again. UPDATE: Unbelievable. After blasting them on here, a manager named Claudia called me. But instead of taking responsibility, she tried to gaslit me by claiming I was being "combative" because I am frustrated. Let's get the facts straight: your business took my $700, failed to provide the services, ghosted me for a week, and now I'm the combative one for wanting my money back? She literally called me to play reindeer games, asking me to explain "what happened when I arrived." Girl, get out of here with that. You work there, you know your own systems were down. It is completely crazy to interrogate a customer about a tech failure your own business suffered. When I refused to let her talk over me or railroad the call, she tried to act like she was the one refusing to have a "combative conversation." It's pathetic corporate deflection. She finally said she would process the refund today because I wouldn't back down, but dealing with this level of unprofessionalism just to get a refund for services never rendered is ridiculous. Management here is trash.

They have disposable slippers for when using the bathroom. Unlimited towels u can use. They got stacks of towels everywhere u can just grab and go, and not have to reuse the same sweaty towel the whole day. Tips- bring socks to wear while using the saunas if youre one of those germophobic people. Slippers arent allowed in those areas. Its been years since Ive last come and I just came over Memorial day weekend. I didnt have a reservation because I had expired gift cards from 2021 that I wanted to use (as face value) and I couldnt use them on the website. Tip: you can call them to make reservations. I didnt call because it was forecasted to rain and I didnt know if I really wanted to go there while it was raining. But i drove to them on a saturday morning anyway and decided to walk in. They initially wouldnt let me do a walk in as they were busy for memorial day weekend but after i told them about my expired gift cards, the manager agreed to let me and my husband come in. Anyway, place is huge. Pools were nice. Saunas were nice. The only room i didnt like was the Ganbanyoku (bed rock bathing). Maybe because it is located right next to the pools and everyone just walks in wet, but that room stinks like wet towels. Place also got pretty busy towards the afternoon so I recommend going early! It was mostly light rain throughout the day so we had no issues being outside in the pool. Food is not cheap and i wish they had more korean choices other than bulgogi rice. I was craving for korean soup noodle! Overall, i had a nice relaxing time here with my husband. Towards the end, we went back to our own gender bathhouses and gave ourselves 45 minutes to enjoy the pools in there and shower and then leave. We stayed at sojo for about 5 hours. I probably wouldve stayed longer if i had more free time to waste, but i had 2 kids waiting at home -_-

All the pool areas were crowded at 10am, so we couldn't even get in. The saunas were unusable because so many people were looking for a place to go that the doors kept opening every 15 seconds, preventing them from heating up properly. The quiet area with chairs was so crowded that people were using them like lounge chairs on a cruise ship, with one person holding a chair for six people's belongings. It just felt like a complete waste of money to pay for spa access. They are not trying to create a luxury spa experience, just 100% a cash grab. I booked a couples massage for my wife and me, and considering the $500+ price, I expected a luxury experience. We showed up 15 min early, as typically spas at this price point will offer tea, a relaxing environment, and go over where you'd like to focus your treatment before you begin. When we arrived, they told us to come back in 10 minutes, because we were too early. Then, when we arrived 5 minutes before our service, they still said they weren't ready for us to come back; it was a terrible start. I've had over a hundred massages over the past 10+ years, and at the 200$+ price point, this one was in the bottom 5 I've experienced. Just mediocre at best. To top it off, at the end, the masseuse hard-sold the oils/lotions they use, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. I get a better massage at Bergen Spa in Brooklyn for $55, and given there was no high-end experience here, it's the same. I wouldn't come back even if they charged half of what they do. Horrible all around.
