My wife and I went to Tony Rotella's shop today for a NYS Inspection. Checked in at one of their…read moreservice desks without any waiting. Very nice guy took care of us quickly and showed us the comfortable waiting area and he explained where the bathrooms were should we need them. Not long thereafter he came over to the waiting area to let us know that we were all set. We checked out with the same nice person (I should have gotten his name) paid for the inspection, and we were on our way. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised at the clean, comfortable waiting area, the large show room, and we observed that all staff were friendly and they obviously like working at Tony Rotella's. One of the most important things in any business setting is a great culture and they obviously have one and it shows. One other thing I wanted to share that I witnessed while waiting. I overheard one of the staff members on the telephone with what must have been an insurance company. This staff member was in a deep "professional" debate with the insurance company trying to convince them to pay for more for a body shop repair, so the customer didn't have to come out of pocket as much. It was nice to see one of Tony Rotella's staff members fighting for their customer's best interest. He was also very nice in how he was presenting his case, yet firm as well and would not back down. If I'm ever in that scenario, I want a guy like that fighting for my best interest as well. If we ever need body work done (and I hope, we don't) there is no other place I'd bring our car than Tony Rotella's after what I witnessed this morning. We'll also come back in the summer for new brakes and new tires as we've heard from several friends that they are great with that type of service and the pricing is very good as well.

On a trip back home from Boston to Canada, our diesel car started to have trouble with the engine. It was the Thanksgiving long weekend and all shops and mechanics were closed. We called Unitech and they came in to the shop on a Sunday evening, even though they were closed, and helped right away. Both Ed and Phil were knowledgeable and extremely friendly and helpful, and truly provided amazing service. After all the trouble they went through, they refused payment, saying only that we should pay the good deed forward in future. The following day, Ed called to check in and make sure that we made it home safe. Truly exceptional service that makes you feel that you are being treated like family. They installed the brakes in my car incorrectly, which of course is exceedingly unsafe. They should have simply admitted that they did not know how to work on my car. The incorrect installment also ruined the brake wear sensor. Total cost to fix was $600. When I asked them about it, they blamed the problem on the reputable shop that actually fixed the problem (waaaay too vigorously) and destroyed the evidence.

Also ever since I got my car back I have been having electrical issues with it. Even though bringing up the issue to them, they said that they didn't touch anything electrical while it was there.
