First of all, their studio is super clean, super cute, and most importantly...the beds are super comfy. They even have little blankets if you get cold! When I got there, I checked in for my appointment and filled out a quick new-client form on their ipad, it didn't take long, so my technician was actually able to take me early! To be honest, I'm always a little weary when I go to a new place-- even if it is as pretty as Deka. But I knew I was in good hands as soon as I walked in the bathroom and saw the eye cleanser and super clean bathroom (working in a salon myself, I've learned to always judge a salon by the cleanliness of their bathroom-- usually indicates the sanitation of the rest of the place and Deka's was spotless!). I usually nap during my lash appointments, but I couldn't help but yap my technician, Manassah's ear off. She was super sweet and gave me the perfect lashes to suit my hooded eyes. This was the first lash appointment where I opened my eyes and the lids weren't stuck together and glue didn't burn them. I'll definitely be signing up for their membership, but I'm skipping "basic" and going straight to "elite". I highly recommend visiting Deka, and if you're unsure, just pop in and check the place out! You'll be convinced.

Parking is also easy and ample since it's in a shared plaza with other businesses and a grocery store, which makes coming here convenient. However, the biggest challenge with this location is the efficiency of the check-in and check-out process. There is no dedicated front-desk person, which means the sugaring and waxing specialists are doing everything, performing services, answering phones, checking in clients, checking out clients, and managing walk-ins. Because of this, the wait times before and after the appointment are consistently extended, even when the staff is doing their best. The specialists themselves are great, but it's almost impossible for them to give a fully hands-on, focused experience when they're simultaneously trying to run the entire front-of-house. I understand wanting to cut costs, but the administrative side of the experience is too important to overlook. Even a part-time receptionist or intern would make a huge difference in the flow and overall customer experience. I genuinely like this location, but whether I return will depend on whether they improve this operational inefficiency. If you're in a rush or need a quick, smooth in-and-out appointment, this may not be the ideal location for you at the moment.
