The restaurant located near the hurricane area. But they open for business very quick due to less effect by hurricane. There is a lot of customers for late lunch visits. Price of food is mid of seafood restaurant average. I got the fried shrimp platter. It come with two sides, rice and fries. The shrimp are fresh. But the coating is too thick for me. I like light coating. Shrimp is good. Food come out good. This place is kind need upgrade for seat and table. Service just ok.

I'd like to think I'm a seafood aficionado, and I'm always on the hunt for fresh seafood (esp when visiting a city close to the ocean). Was in Ft. Myers over the holidays and found Skip One via Yelp/Tiktok. Now if you like a "no frills" type of spot with good food, this is it. It is very divey and you don't come here for the aesthetics necessarily (there is also a seafood market counter at the front where people will come in to buy fish etc). They have a big selection of entrees and apps ( a lot of it is fried); I tried the fried gator tail (would skip), spicy steam shrimp (phenomenal!! And reasonable price for the amount), steamed mussels (alright), and fried shrimp (got the half pound, which was a bit pricey for the amount given: may opt for the platter next time).l and key lime pie (SO GOOD!) Overall, it's a local joint that's serving fresh seafood. Would highly recommend their shrimp (super fresh & tasty)

Calamari appetizer. They were much better than expected

You're gonna walk in thinking "what the hell am I getting myself into?" But the food is good! Almost everyone else that walked in the staff knew by name. A nice dive bar/market for regulars and a hidden gem for tourists.

Ask the Community - Skip One Seafood Restaurant

Is the all you can eat really worth the price tag?

I think so, if you think you can eat more than one plate!

Do they have all you can eat crab legs?

Right now they are offering it on Sundays and Thursdays. They also have all you can eat shrimp, and fish fillets.

Coming from New England and hearing about this seafood restaurant with Ipswich Fried Clams and has…read moreBoston sports memorabilia hanging all over its walls. I was very excited to give it a try. Friday, March 27th my wife and two friends left Sebring driving the two to Fort Myers to go check out the Clam Bake for some long awaited delicious seafood especially looking forward to some fried Ipswich clams. Entering The Clam Bake, looking around, I saw a very nice variety of Boston Sports teams pictures and memorabilia on the walls. The waiter was prompt though not very personable. The waiters response to the two questions was as i was asking stupid questions. Regarding the food. I ordered a salad with Russian dressing and received Thousand Island dressing. I ordered Fried whole belly clams and a baked potato The baked potato seemed to be a day old left over baked potato reheated. Instead of clams I received Fried Oysters. When I asked they assured me they were clams. My wife ordered Fried Sea Scallops with a baked Sweet potato. She received what looked to have been frozen Sea Scallops (that were just Ok) and a "half" of a small Sweet Potato. I ate the salad as Thousand Island Dressing still tastes good, though I prefer Russian. It would have been nice for the waiter to let me know. I ate the potato as I have many times had cut up left over baked potatoes as home fries, and they are good. I did not eat the oysters. A bus person came by and cleared our dishes., did not ask if my dinner was ok as the oysters were still on my plate. Over all opinion: The decor is New Englandish, Service over all ok. The food is ok. Just don't expect the quality of the seafood to be anywhere as good as what you can find in New England. I will not be returning.

They don't take reservations when the pre baseball season is here, for obvious reasons (The Boston RedSox play in FM)! It is really a must for people who love the sea food from the Boston area. I recently went to another restaurant who served lobster rolls and I did not like it at all. I'm not going to mention the name. Enjoy the Clam Bake!

Great spot in Fort Myers for family dinner!…read more Our server Austin was great and the ambiance was nice, live music on Saturday night is always a vibe. I tried the shrimp scampi and Tuna Tutaki off the summer deal menu Tuna Tutaki is the same size as if you ordered it off the regular menu, same as the scampi huge portion. We also ordered the Grouper Oscar which was delicious if we're being picky it could of had more sauce. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was their skinny margarita and that's just based off my flavor preference. For dessert The Tower Carrot Cake is equivalent to 3 or 4 big slices, definitely shareable. The Famous Key Lime pie was also amazing but not shareable, it's smaller and so good you'll want it all to yourself! Cheers!

They were backed so we still had to wait for a table but it was a holiday so I don't really hold that against them, just noting. Do note that most parking is valet (complimentary). My husband and I split oysters and the Captains Platter. Captains Platter was tasty but for $40+ - I think they could've given a larger portion of at least the veggie sides. Restaurants who skimp on these always blow my mind, Brussels sprouts are so cheap! What we did have was just ok. Sprouts were soggy and bitter, only a few scallops, but the fish was good. I actually liked the plantains a lot! Our server was fabulous and we did need some help from one of the managers who was also great. It is quite a loud restaurant but again it was packed. Overall, I just wasn't excited about anything we had, and thought the prices were high for the quality. With all the seafood in this area, it would be hard to return here.

Charming interior design, love the abundance of art work on the walls. It was very quiet during lunch but I truly hope more people come to try it and spread the word through Fort Myers because their interesting menu and craft cocktails are definitely worth the visit. We ordered tuna crudo, goat cheese stuffed crepes and wagyu burger - all were delicious and beautifully plated! We also tried their banana and pecan strudel for dessert - yum! Next time, I'm definitely trying their goat cheese cheesecake though! Service was extremely attentive and informative. We learned a bit more about the chef and the story of this restaurant and even got meet Chief, the friendliest most adorable dog guarding the restaurant - just kidding, he was just hanging out there. Highly recommend it if you're open to trying new flavors and interesting food combinations. Cocktails are fun too. Mixing bold flavors and a generous pour.
