So today I was in the deli brought a few things like I always do, spent over $70. dollars and now mind you when I go in there they have these vintage looking bags I always buy one or two when ever I'm in the store at the price of $22.99. Along with other items that i purchased. so I did t have a babe to carry out my items so I saw some black bags I was leaving the store thw young lady said ma'am yotoi have to pay for the bag. I replied you're gonna charge me .50 cent for a bag and I just spent $70. dollars in this store so I tossed my items on the cointer and said well I do not want any of these items . The moral of the story is I think it's kinda weird that you spent all this money in someone's store and they still charge you for a bag. Nice staff and owner/manager is very honest and generous. They make you feel like they value you as a customer. The food they make is pretty good- a little pricy, but that's expected in todays economy and i wouldn't say they ask too much- it's worth it for the convenience and to support a small town business. Not much has changed since my last review. Now, however, despite the virus... I have walked in multiple times and observed all staff not wearing masks or gloves. When questioned I was told it was because no one was in there. Hello?! I'm here. My family and I are pretty new to Belvidere, NJ. We moved here during the pandemic. Skoogys deli has been from day one a wonderful establishment. The owner is very helpful and friendly. We have never had any issues with the staff, they have always been friendly and courteous. They do get very busy as their food is great and they are a deli. Recently the owner has added more grocery type foods which is great. read more

Sandwiches are overpriced and the coffee is pretty much just brown water. I try to avoid this place unless I'm in a pinch and need like a gallon of milk or something. Also make sure you check the date on anything you get off the shelf! read more

I'm so perturbed with the staff of this establishment. When I entered, there was a girl at the register so I told her my order. She said, "Let me finish with this guy." Um, there was no guy there! AND, whether or not she was "helping" someone else, she could have just as easily thrown my order in the deep fryer or told one of the other girls to do it. It would have taken less than a minute. So when I paid for my order, this girl that helped me said, "I told you wait a second." How rude! That is no way to address a customer. She could have just acted like the food was still cooking & I would've been none-the-wiser. Instead, she wanted to be the little girl that she is. Luckily, the older lady took care of my order & I eventually got my food. Evidently, this girl is not a multi-tasker. That'll be the last time I spend my hard earned money in there. read more

This place is a rip off. Low quality for high prices. If it were not located where it is would most likely go under.

Prices are high and food isn't the absolute freshest. Good subs, fine coffee, and good selection of basic foods

if you get a sandwich here, avoid the "pre-made" section and request they make you one. the sandwiches that sit in the cooler get taken out after a day or two and they remove the meat and place it on new bread, rolls, etc. and get placed back in the cooler. if you've ever grabbed a pre-made hogie and noticed the meat has been cut once before it kinda takes away from the "made fresh" feel you normaly like from a deli sandwich. as a free bonus to you, the customer, the workers there don't have any problem at all by making you stand there and wait while they chat amongst themselfs over their facebook posts. it can be especially annoying in the morning when everyone is in a hurry, but customers don't seem to impact their chat schedule at all. read more

I am absolutely disgusted by the actions at Skoogy's Deli this evening. My daughter attends Country Gate Playhouse and rehearses there throughout the year. Throughout the year, my family and I make numerous purchases at Skoogy's Deli totaling several hundred dollars. I would also say the same for many of the families who attend performances and have children who perform at the theater. This evening, There are very few times during the year when some of the parents will park in their lot for no more than 20-30 minutes I was approached by a police officer and told that I needed to move my vehicle because I didn't make a purchase there. There were no other people in the parking lot but the owner insisted that my car be moved. As a result, I was forced to make a purchase so that I could remain in the parking lot for my daughter. Shame on Skoogy's Deli for doing this. Just know that there are many people who shop at your deli during the theater season and shows. Much of your business comes from this and you should be more understanding to those who spend money at your establishment. In the future, I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I am a resident of Belvidere, NJ and unfortunately I tend to frequent this "establishment" as they are basically the only deli in town. I have NEVER had good service from this place. The staff is young and rude, they are too busy talking to their friends to wait on customers. Today while making a sandwich, the girl asked why the cheese was warm, and another employee said, loud enough for me to hear, "Maybe because it has been sitting out so long.." Simply disgraceful. I've eaten at Scoogy's several times over the years, but lately the food is well below par. I just got a roast beef sandwich that does not have even a single slice of roast beef.
