Also got the "banana pudding" which came in a red solo cup with a top. Hardly any bananas and you can tell it was made from a can. The last time I had food here everything was made well. The cooks in the back no mask and seem like half of them didn't wear gloves. Or if they did gloves should have been changed more often. Just not up to par in my opinion. As much as I love the food here, I just cannot continue to patronize this business. They cannot get an order correct to save their life. It takes me 20 minutes to drive there either way. Tonight, I order 2 pounds of Whiting (I had salad at home), and a small order of scallops to eat on the drive home. I get home (again 20 minute drive) and I have 1 pound of whiting and a huge box of fries. Now my guest have to wait while we try to figure out something else to go with the fish since there are 5 of us...all while the fish is getting cold. In NoVa there are many places that will serve Fish and Chips but few where I could find Southern Style fried fish and shrimp. A hairdresser recommended the Dumfries location (in the plaza adjacent to Walmart) and it did not disappoint! On the weekends there is a crowd placing takeout orders. My favorite order is the combo that includes fried whiting, fried shrimp, and hush puppies. The sweet tea is properly brewed and you should add EXTRA ice to dilute it. Order accuracy: 1/5 The extra shrimp and hushpuppies were both missing from the order. We also received spicy fish instead of regular. Food quality: 2/5 The spicy fish is very well seasoned and definitely has a kick. The hushpuppies and shrimp were both good and cooked well. The major downside was that some of the catfish was not fully cooked through. Summary: I would definitely recommend opening every box to make sure everything is present. I'll go so far to to that this is the best seafood restaurant in Dumfries or Woodbridge. They have huge portions and a great selection of different fish/seafood here. There was a line and it took about 15 minutes to get my food. But my goodness it was worth it! I got the haddock sandwich and it had 3 fillets between the buns! It was so hot it burned my mouth when it came out(which was awesome. Very clean flavor, and the design of the restaurant is nice. I have to give all the kudos to my girl Moni M. for putting me on, I've had this place on my radar and after my conversation with her over the weekend, I found my way here asap!!!! Everyone from the cashier to the young lady who delivered the meal to the table were friendly and made you feel like they were glad you were there. You may catch a glimpse of the prep line as you order and there were smiles to be seen there as well. Plenty of seating inside so you can dine in or carry out. I went earlier than the grand opening at lunch time and the line was long but service was quick and everyone seemed happy. The food was brought out hot and delicious. I couldn't decide so I had one of the specials of the day a platter with Flounder, shrimp, oysters and scallops with a side of collard greens & hush puppies and banana pudding for dessert. It was enough food for 2 meals. My friend had the shrimp basket and her son had the crab and shrimp poboy. I tried to order online and it was not working so I eventually went to the restaurant at 5:48pm and the doors were all locked with one worker inside and two customers and online and on the door they say they close at 6pm. Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. This is a quick service place so you can get your food to go or you can dine in. We decided to dine in. The place was really busy so we did expect a wait to get our food. We waited about 15/20 minutes. I tried the Skrimp po boy ( you can get mild or spicy) I got mild and Mac and cheese. The Mac & cheese had a white cheddar sauce which was really tasty. The shrimp was delicious, well seasoned and not greasy. The sandwich also had a lot of shrimp on it. The only downfall was that it was very hard to eat, couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart. The bread is really soft so maybe a bit crustier bread would hold together better? Food and service are still great. The staff are always nice. Meals and sides are absolute delicious. My only complaint is that the music is way too loud every time I go in there. Plus, not everyone likes that type of music blaring out of the speakers while they are trying to enjoy their meal if they decide to eat in there. I take my order to because the music is just too loud, but I really would like to eat in there but it gives me a headache just waiting for my to-go order. It a no frills type restaurant. I had the shrimp, collard greens, and unsweetened tea. The shrimp were seasoned very well. They were delicious. They were fried to perfection! I wouldn't change anything about them. I was very satisfied with them. The greens on the other hand weren't so good. I added vinegar to them hoping it would make them taste better, but no.
