Now the seasoning was fire and I'm glad I asked about other flavors because the garlic and spicy seasoning is definitely where's its at!! Now I have them an extra star because I had brought my baby Jade a yorkie with me and Bob was nice and was given her treats which she enjoyed. That was very nice. I will god back to them only because of how the crabs were cooked and tasted. But...I will ask to see the crabs beforehand and make sure they cook them fresh because I do not want any crabs already cooked and don't know how long they were sitting.

The Bad: Service is okay but lacking in professionalism/friendliness. We made a reservation in advance and table was not fully put together when we sat down. Our food came out at random times and several items were forgotten. They would drop off crackers, bibs, and gloves at our table but there was never enough. They were out of blue crabs but failed to tell us till we ordered. Normally not a big deal, but something you should mention if you are advertising yourself as a crab house. As soon as I sat down, I was scared we would have a terrible night but the good food and fun atmosphere permeating from the bar made it fun. Hoping that this place tightens up a bit soon. To start, they brought out bread and oil to eat prior to our food arriving. It was cold. I genuinely believe it came straight out of the fridge, since the room was warmer than the bread. We both order the wagyu burgers and I got a beer. $25 a pop. I was hoping it would be a solid burger but it genuinely so boring. The bacon looked like it was boiled. If I were on the west coast, I would rather have gone to in n out or shake shake here. Fries were also mid. I'd also like to add: when booking a reservation with them, I was asked, "is this for a special occasion?" to which it was my girlfriends birthday. While I am not entitled to anything free, I think it is weird that it was asked but not recognized in any form such as a "happy birthday". On the positive, our service was kind and attentive. The ambience is nice. I would never go here again. It was $70 for two extremely average burgers and one beer.

Not bad, but not great either…read more The restaurant's ambience is truly modern and inviting. As someone who resides in Dumfries, this is a very welcome addition to upscale dining, and I was greatly surprised by the decor. I've visited many casinos locally and around the country, including Vegas, Atlantic City, Biloxi, Mississippi, and New Orleans, and I must say this restaurant's decor is on par with many of the other fine-dining restaurants. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was not busy at all. In fact, there were only a few people at the bar and another couple who came in at the same time as us in the dining area. While someone would look at this and be very skeptical, I took it as number one. I was coming on a Sunday night around 5:30. Number two, it may be early for dinner, and number three. I could assure you that my food would come out hot. My server was excellent. The service was terrific, which I had heard was the most mixed part of the experience previously, due to staff turnover and inconsistent service levels for a fine-dining establishment. Akeara was fantastic, I mean, truly remarkable, and coupled with the excellent management and leadership of Veronica Keller, they made the dynamic duo who saved my dining experience. Akeara was very well-versed in the menu and sensitive to dietary restrictions when asked about many of the ways ingredients were prepared. She was invaluable and well-versed in preparation methods, as well as in drink pairings and menu options, to ensure we had a great culinary experience. The food I really enjoyed the calamari. It was fried perfectly. The two dipping sauces were fantastic. The rose salad is absolutely a star on the appetizer menu. I was a little skeptical about the crabcake because the way she described it sounded more like a fried crabcake than a pan-seared one. I think had she mentioned pan-seared, I would have likely gone with a crab cake, but I am certainly not disappointed in the calamari, and again, the salad was phenomenal. The steaks were a different story. I think they marinate the steaks, although I got different answers from the server and the manager when I asked; however, the steaks were a great cut. I saw someone get the bone in Tomahawk, which is presented nicely, hanging from a hook, with the Chef coming out to torch butter over the steak and vegetables beneath. I got the New York strip. It was a very, very lovely piece of meat. The New York strip was severely underseasoned. In fact, I had to ask for steak sauce, which is a cardinal sin of any steak restaurant. I think had they used a little more salt, pepper, and garlic to finish the steak It would've been perfect. The cook was absolutely perfect, medium rare. The seasoning was just off. I also got the risotto and short ribs. The short rib was well seasoned, though so much gravy from the short rib almost covered the entire plate of mushroom risotto. Tasty but just a little disproportionate in presentation. The bread basket was terrific, and the honey butter was nice, though the bread had a slight cheese flavor. It was still a really good combo. The baked potato is by far one of the best values on the menu as a side item. It was large. It was hot and fully loaded. The creamed spinach was a little more cream-cheese-forward, and it seemed like the spinach needed a little something else and seasoning, so it wasn't as bland. The desserts were another story: the toffee cake I thought would look like something I would get at Hell's Kitchen looked more like a very crumbly cornbread with ice cream on top. The vanilla ice cream tasted great, but the cake was just OK. The crème brûlée was on another level. It was fantastic, creamy, full of vanilla, and had a great crunch from the Brulé sugar on top. What really made this meal so good was the service. I talked with my server about my dissatisfaction with the two lobster tails: I did not appreciate being told they were pulled from the lobster shell, and they were served cold and rubbery. The server immediately jumped into action, spoke with the manager, and had the lobster removed from the bill. Thank you so much. But what really impressed me was the time that both the manager and my server spent at the table. Veronica was truly a pleasure to meet. As a military officer who has commanded hundreds and been responsible for thousands, she really hit it out of the park with her ability to problem-solve and immediately address issues as they arose. She was very engaging and really a pleasure to be with. This dynamic duo, who've only worked at this location for less than 5 months combined, really made me say I will come back to the restaurant, assuming they may have had an off night with seasoning and timing in the kitchen. If there's anything to take away, the food is OK (3 stars), the service from this dynamic duo was fantastic, and that's why they got the four stars.

Mac N Cheese so cheesy and seasoned you can't look at other Mac N Cheese the same. Jasmine rice so good you think an asian made it. I was a little disappointed at 1st because they wouldn't take my order though IG dm because I didn't want to go order and wait but honestly it was Definity worth the wait because the food taste and texture was top tier even better then a lot of of other soul food restaurant. Update the next day went and got more food on Sunday. Location/ Ambiance 5/5 - Food truck in random parking lot with 1 building that supposed to get turn into the restaurant in couple of months. The truck and seem nice and clean from me looking in. Food 5/5 - Amazing, I couldn't sleep all night because I want more and normally it take me couples of weeks to write review. Deluxe platter 5/5 - $34 One lobster tail, Couple Shrimps and Catfish or Whiting of choice plus 2 side. - Omg heaven in my mouth, the seafood was nice and crispy and thinly coated in crispy batter full of flavors. It honest can feed 2 person the amount you get. It was so good I had to pull over at an empty parking lot. The lobster and Shrimp was cook perfectly and not over cook. The catfish was lovely as well and i love that they use real catfish and not swai fish . Side: Mac cheese 5/5 - perfectly Chessy and cream with right balance of cheese and perfectly al dente macaroni Side: Candie yam 5/5- Sweeten my soul and comforting not overly sweet and went you put in your mouth the aromatic is amazingly Side: Collard Green with turkey 5/5- Fill with savory flavor and Side: Seafood pasta salad 5/5 - Omg it was delicious and actually have crab meat in it not imitation with shrimp. Side: Rasta Pasta 5/5 - This is so good it should be turn into an entree as well. Creamy spice alfredo sauce with penne pasta. It so good even better then cheesecake factory Cajun pasta Side: Cabbage 4.5/5- Amazing buttery flavor cabbage. I am not sure if they over cook it or maybe I reheat for too long because it was a tad bit too soft for me. I like it too not overly over cook, but flavor was on point comforting Turky Chilli $5 - I am not a Chilli girl because I don't like bean but for some reason, the way they make it so good, and they don't put too much bean bit fill with flavor will out being oily Jerk Chicken with 2 side $20- 5/5 Omg i love that they don't use the cheap part of the chicken like drumstick. The wing didn't have grill flavor aroma like you normally get with Jerk chicken but oh the flavor was packing with a hint of spiciness, but the meat was soft and falling of the bone it was amazing with yellow rice. It safe enough for peoples who don't eat spicy. Chicken Curry with 2 side over jasmine rice $20 5/5- Ok this one threw me off the loop went I first open the box. I thought it was curry chicken with potatoes and carrot, but it had chickpea instead. I was nervous it wasn't going to be good but I was truly wrong. It was perfect combo, full with turmeric flavor and chicken boneless meat. It was savory an addicting Banana Pudding $6- I cry eating this in bed it was heavenly perfect bring back memories of ex grandma banana pudding. It was so good and not overly too sweet like magnolia or wegman banana pudding. I hope one day I can ask them to just make me a tray to devour on a weekend. The banana was fresh and a wafer had crunch Lastly, I got lemon cake, it was divine and not overly sweet with great lemony flavor. Overall I hated that I love this place because I was going to start my new year diet. I can't find nothing negative to say about the foods. You can taste the love they put in the cooking to fill the soul. I will probably be coming back every week

Definitely felt vibrant and clean, so that is a huge plus. As we were ordering our food, their waitress taking our order was very short with us. I should have gotten something a bit more appealing and have a better chance of tasting better. But I ordered the Crabzilla, my fiancé got the hush puppy platter. She loved majority of her food, especially the hush puppies. I had one, they were excellent. My Crabzilla was an absolute beast, I'll give it that. However, it isn't something I'll order again. I actually felt pretty gross afterwords. It could have been psychological because it has two literally soft shell crabs dipped and fried, practically looking at their face as you're eating it. So I think that's on me. But overall, it was somewhere we wanted to go and enjoyed a vast majority of it.
