No one likes the dentist. It is what it is. But this was such a good experience!! Embarrassingly, my husband and I haven't been to the dentist in years. They treated us so kindly and with respect. We didn't once feel judged for the condition of our teeth or lack of visits. We both had deep cleanings which I was extremely nervous about. The dentist even searched the office to find a stress ball for me to hold before my cleaning. The entire process was painless. The numbing shots were extremely quick and they made sure the numbing gel kicked in first. They even skipped the "painful spot" in the front for the shot to see if I was ok during the cleaning without it. I appreciated them constantly checking in with my comfort level during the process. My husband and I will both be back in 6 months for regular cleanings from now on. read more

I wanted to like this place so much because they do great dental work and the place is clean. However, professionally I wasn't too impressed. The was very uncomfortable with the conversations being held during my dental work. Secondly, I don't like the texting to cancel appointments and not following up with the patients. If you cancel an appointment with a client via text, why would you not follow up with the patient with the reason for the cancellation? I don't feel I should have to call to inquire about a cancelled appointment and rescheduling if I didn't cancel it. read more

My bride went to Sky Dental to have two teeth pulled, note this was her 3rd Dental office she went to, the first was very rude and nobody could return any of her phone calls and the second dental office said one thing and was going to charge her way to much. This place is an absolute joke. Definitely read all the bad reviews because it will give an honest representation of this business. I called this office back in January to setup a time for a simple cleaning. I was told that day that I would need to be on the roster (which I was not at the time) in order to be seen there. I said that's fine, I'll call my insurance company and get on the roster and have them send you a letter. The lady told me no, they get new rosters every month and I'd have to wait until I wan on that list. I said ok, and asked if I could make an appointment for the following month. I was told no, that I have to be on the roster in order for them to schedule anything. I said ok fine, I'll call back next month. I called back in January to book a simple cleaning, the lady confirmed I was on the roster and would be able to make an appointment but now they're completely booked up all the way to April. I had a feeling this was going to happen which is why I wanted to make an appointment last month. I said that's fine again, and asked to please book me the earliest time they had. She told me April 7th, I said great let's book it. She then tells me that this appointment is just for X-rays and paperwork. And that the dentist MIGHT be able to squeeze me in that day IF she has the time. Which pretty much means I'd need to make an appointment to come back for a cleaning. Fast forward to today. I get a text message from the dental office telling me my April 7th appointment has been cancelled (no explanation) and that I need to call in order to reschedule. I called back and lady told me that pretty much they have to reschedule the people they canceled on last year. So they canceled mine? Does that mean they are perpetually going to canceling and rescheduling? Because otherwise this makes no sense. Anyway, when I called back she other me another day 2 weeks later. At which point I told her to forget the whole thing. What a joke. Maybe they make so much money that they don't care about new patients, I'm not sure. But I'll tell you this, I've never had this much trouble scheduling a day for a simple cleaning. read more

Went in during construction, guess they were renovating their office spaces. I was due for a cleaning and didn't want to drive all the way to hayward for my usual dentist. Tried this place out, since I live in walking distance and they said I had great teeth, but need a tooth to be removed because the doctor (who runs this practice) said it would cause me problems chewing later down the line. He recommended his specialist to remove the furthest back tooth on my left side and implant a new one to close a normal size gap where my other wisdom tooth once was. It wasn't causing me any pain or issues so I thought it was strange I needed to have this tooth removed and surgery to implant a new one. Here's where I realized that recommendation was B.S I checked my voicemail the night before and realized the girls at the front desk called me asking me if I was wanting to get a consultation or the procedure done, However, It was explained to me by them before I left that I was going to have this tooth removed next door on the day of my next appt. My gripe is, why would I need a consultation for this procedure if this doctor, who apparently owns and runs this practice, is recommending me to get this done? This is where I start to feel like I'm getting scammed. I show up to the Specialist ( which is at a separate practice, but connected physically to the same building as Sky Dental) I wait in a room for 30 minuets, just for the specialist to walk in for less than 5 minuets and ask me if that tooth is causing me any pain. I said no, then he said I don't know why some other doctor recommended this, but if it was his family, he would save the money and leave it alone, since It is not rotting and I can floss without any issues. He said the gap was not too big and not too tight. I then paid my 70$ copay and told them to have a nice day. Felt like I got a consultation for no reason. I think there is some incentive to push specialist work since they are located at the same office building. They were otherwise nice people. read more
