Wish I had saved my money and gone elsewhere instead! We walked in and were met by a guy at the bar who didn't know what they had on their list. He kept going back to the displayed list to figure out the composition of each cocktail that was ordered. Anyway the drinks arrived and all three were terrible and overly syrupy sweet. While we waited to finish our drinks, we watched in surprise as the faces behind the bar kept changing numerous times. There was this constant flux of people walking in and out, behind the bar. It's almost like anyone could walk in and just randomly pour you a drink. We couldn't tell who the actual bartenders were. Poor choice of music too... Definitely staying away. read more

I went there Saturday for a birthday party with 7-8 ppl. It was $5 bucks to get in (whatever) it was busy but I made my way to the bar. I whipped out a $100 and tried to get one of three bartenders to serve me. 10 minutes later I finally get someone's attention and they tell me "we are out of glasses let me find some." Waited for another 10 minutes then put my $100 bill back in my pocket and walked out. We paid $5 each to wait and get nothing. This place is wack and whoever owns it should get a clue.... read more

First time here, and was very surprised. I had heard of a new lounge opening in San Mateo and thought oh no, hope its not like glow. But instead came into a great place. It looks great inside and is VERY clean. I loved the drinks me and my girls ordered them and they were made fast and were wonderful. We also had a great time talking with the bartender Esteban. He was very nice, made great drinks, and made our experience very personable. I have found the newest bar where I will have drinks after work! read more

Its nice to have a swanky bar in San Mateo. Its a nice alternative to the plethora of dive bars. The drinks were a little pricey, but absolutely delicious. Its very dark, definitely has that sort of ultra lounge feel to it. Its really clean, nicely decorated, and has a friendly bartender. It was a little empty. I'd love it if they could get a dance floor going, something I've been missing in San Mateo. I'll be keeping an eye on this place! read more

Perhaps I'm a craft cocktail snob but I found the drinks to be thoroughly mediocre. The bartender is friendly and there's nothing wrong with place. It's just not an artisan cocktail experience and I don't have much use for run of the mill drinks since I can easily do better at home. read more

I have never had a bad experience at this bar! Great drinks, great music, GREAT STAFF. The only downside is that the space is very small, but even then, the crowd has always been fun! Customer service is fantastic - the drinks are always good, and the bartenders always make it the way YOU want it. The DJS are always able to read the crowd and continuously make it fun. Came on friday nite and got stop from getting in I spent $100s dollars everytime i come in, never had a fight or drama with anyone....That is just terrible overall. Came here for post dinner drinks with a coworker. They were playing some top 40 mixed with hip hop while playing the Olympics on one of their big screens so this place was perfect. I wanted to try one of the drinks that someone posted on Yelp, but the bartender explained every bartender does their own special drinks and couldn't make that one. they were out of strawberries and henny, so both drinks I wanted to try I couldn't. I ended up going wth just some Jameson. The drinks were cheap. I'd go here again, the crowd seemed to know each other and were pretty chill. read more

Looking for a place to drink in a new city can be cumbersome if you're with the wrong company. Luckily, my company was down to drizzown, so that's what we set out to do. We Yelped the bars in the area and decided on Sky Lounge based on reviews. In San Mateo...Sky Lounge was as good as it gets! It wasn't crowded at all and the bartender was swass. We had a few drinks and the bartender even made us some house specialties. The drinks were so good that we had to have the recipe which he kindly gave. Def check this place out. read more

Great little spot in downtown San Mateo. Came here on a Saturday for my 30 th .. Liked the music; a lot of hiphop. The only thing the dj needs a course on how to smoothly transition between songs. It gets really crowded but if u don't mind it , it's really fun. !!!! read more

Went on a Saturday night and it was dead...Except for a group of street claiming delinquents. Of course the staff and security did nothing as the runt of the bunch harassed the women and antagonized the few patrons that were there. Several times an altercation was warranted but the group of delinquents had the security too scared to speak up. As we tried to over look the group and enjoy our night out...They ran out of Jack and Hennessy before midnight. To top it off they as I go to pay my tab, they realized they charged my bill to another patron and kept my credit card and me waiting a half hour as they called the manager/owner who instead of admitting the mistake told the staff to call the Police. Of course everyone of interest left and I was then circled by 6 cop cars, a K9 and countless Police. Luckily I was able to keep my composure and explained the situation. They then grabbed the mixed up receipt and recharged it correct to me...the other patron probably had to dispute the charge with his cc company. Anyway...they should have called the cops hours ago on those delinqeunts who were grabbing on women and pushing dancers...But instead kept me there for their billing mistake on $99. The 1 star is for the DJ. I will never go there again and I would advise anyone else against it. read more

Not a bad spot to get sum GREAT drinks and lounge/dance to sum cool music. Good touch with sum Latin music and with the video/music. Issac knows how to put the drinks down, GREAT bartender! Special drinks wer mixed well and made quick. Cover for guys was 5$, comes with a ticket for a free shooter drink. Christian, one of the doorman, helped with cleaning up and clearing tables. I love this place! Had mixed feelings at first but management is amazing and I love Vino the bartender.

This place is not bad. The best thing about it are the bartenders, who are all upbeat and friendly. Good beer selection, including Deschutes and other semi-local smaller brewers. I had a Jaeger shot here once after eating next door, and I thought it was a bit expensive for what was a stock 1.5 oz shot out of a regulation shot glass. But otherwise, we like what they did to the space after they closed Glow down, and the bar area is smaller and more intimate now. It hasn't been open long, so time will tell how they adapt and maybe an update will be in order. read more

I just threw my boyfriend a surprise birthday party on Saturday with a Back to the Future theme and it couldn't have been a better place to host it! Elias (the owner) and his staff were amazing and very accommodating! One of his bartenders even dressed up as Doc Brown! They had specialty drinks all named Back to the Future references...we all had a blast and it was simply awesome! The lounge itself was very clean and modern...I will definitely go back one day just to hang out! read more
