When I walked in, I told the receptionist that I needed a Gel-X refill and a pedicure. She looked at my nails, immediately started typing on her phone, and then came back and told me that my refill would be $110 and my pedicure would be $50. While I thought the prices seemed unusually high, I agreed to the services. What surprised me even more was being told that I had to pay the full $167 upfront before any services were performed. In all my years of getting my nails done, I have never been required to prepay for a refill and pedicure. I also did not notice any other customers being asked to pay upfront, which made me feel singled out. What made the pricing even more confusing is that I regularly get nail designs, artwork, and other add-on services, and I have never paid anywhere near $167 for a refill and pedicure--even with those extras included. This visit was simply a refill and pedicure, yet it ended up being the most I have ever been charged. To be clear, the nail technician who worked on me was very kind, professional, and did a good job. I have no complaints about her whatsoever. In fact, I felt bad that I wasn't able to leave the tip I normally would have. I am a generous tipper and always make a point to show appreciation for good service, but after paying such an unexpectedly high amount upfront, I simply didn't feel comfortable spending even more. My issue is with the way I was treated as a customer. The unusually high pricing, combined with the requirement to pay upfront when others seemingly were not asked to do the same, left me feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and as though I was being treated differently. Whether that was the intention or not, that was my experience. Because of how uncomfortable I felt, I will not be returning. The wors!!

Until I met Marcela, I was bouncing around salons and different techs. Getting my nails done was a nuisance but necessary. Having met Marcela a year ago has transformed my life. Every time I get a new set I get an outpour of compliments and questions on where I got them done in person and on Instagram. Every couple weeks I'll think of ideas for my next set, send her pics and we collaborate to create nail art. She takes her time on her clients because she's a perfectionist stopping at nothing to ensure you're satisfied. An added bonus is her personality. Not only is she personable and easy going, she's the best person to seek advice from and talk to. It's such a pleasure getting to sit and talk to her while I get my nails done. Maybe they have new ownership, but the place looks great now and has been remodeled. The massage chairs are new and comfy, and the salon is clean and fresh. The staff was very welcoming, and the lady that did my pedi offered a great food and leg massage and did a great job with my pedi. I am so glad I gave this place another chance, thanks to all the new pics and reviews I found on Yelp.
