Hole in the wall nail place, a little better than your average nail spot in the La Puente area. This place was recommended to me by my sister who recently started coming here. She's probably been to almost every nail place in La Puente and West Covina trying to find good quality nail service that doesn't water down their products, making her nails chip after a week of getting them done. Decided to get my nails done since they've been growing out strong and surprisingly haven't broke. I called and asked for Helen to make an appointment (as recommended by my sister) at 10. I came in a few min before 10 and she was just finishing up w her client and took me right before 10:00. I'm picky w little careless mistakes some nail artists make but Helen definitely has pride in her work. My gel French manicure came out great! This is definitely going to be my new spot to come to. Thank you Sky nails for great customer service and having pride in your service. And thanks to my sister for finding this gem! It's been twice that I have gone to this nail salon. I must say that I am please with the establishment. It's not only 5/10 minutes from home, but the service is rather well. My manicures last two-three weeks and don't look nasty. They also do holographic and chrome nails! I got the holographic ones done, and I loved em! I love this place and its normally my go to spot for years!! They are quick and the service is normally amazing but this time the guy with the blonde hair and tattoos did my nails and they came out terrible. This is literally 4 days after I got them done. My thumb had a huge bubble in it and they look like I've had them on for weeks. He didnt prep my nails at all and just put the acrylics on and painted. On top of that, he started to yell at one of the other gals who worked there which made everyone uncomfortable. They need to get rid of him if they want to maintain their reputation. I decided to come here because my regular nail spot was already closing, I need an emergency pedicure. Come to find out 2 to 3 weeks later when my toe was an agonizing pain I go to my regular nail salon to get my toes done again and then cover toe fungus on both toes, and that was a result of the previous place using dirty tools i.e. sky nails. After I got my pedicure done and she cleaned my toes, I went over to politely show them pictures and just let them know that they were using dirty tools, I did not expect a refund because the service was done and I'm not that type of Karen. But I at least expected an apology, maybe I'm so sorry how can we fix this? But instead she continuously told me that no it wasn't them, that they've been in service for over x amount of years, as if they are in capable of making mistakes. I don't care how many years of experience you have, you are not susceptible from making a mistake. Own up to it and and manager business properly. Absolutely disgusting behavior. I would never go back after that experience but even more so after their attitude and demeanor towards the situation. Why would I lie drive over there and show you pictures if that's not where it happened? They have remodeled so it is spacious and clean. I always come in with an appointment and they're pretty good about taking me in on time (but not always). They don't have prices posted and they've raised prices since the remodeling. They charge $1 for using a card and "cash only" on Sundays. read more

(Sorry this is a bit lengthy) Been going to this place for a while because of the convenient location and decent prices. I've only gotten my hair done at this location and most of the time it was May that would do my hair. Called today around 1 and asked if they had an opening around 3pm and was told to come in at that time, so I did. I waited for about 40 minutes--which I guess is understandable for a busy Saturday? May was busy so Kathy did my hair today. First time I met her and saw her in there. I'm not sure if I was just spoiled by how May cuts hair, but Kathy's hands felt heavy and she wasn't as meticulous as May was. You could tell she was rushing. I even had to point out that the shaved sides I asked her to do were not level with each other (Now that I'm home, I noticed that the back of my hair that's also shaved is uneven too). Her whole demeanor was very off putting the whole time she was doing my hair to be honest, and it just made me want to get out of there asap. Still gave her a 15% tip though because I worked customer service before too and that's just the decent thing to do--despite her work that didn't deserve a tip. So, being home for the holidays, I wanted to spoil myself with a gel manicure for the New Year. This little nail shop is situated in front of the Yum Yum Donuts and $.99 cents store. They have about five or six chairs for spa pedicure and several tables for manicures. They also do haircuts and coloring as I saw about two or three chairs for salon services. I called ahead and asked how long the wait would be and they said no wait, so I rushed there and sure enough when I arrived I was taken care of. They have a good selection of polish and though it's not OPI or any other famous nail polish (can't remember names), there's pretty colors. I chose a magenta color and she just pained the tips so it's like a french manicure but with magenta tips. She was attentive and did a good job with my nails. She took her time and I didn't feel like it was rushed. She also asked me if I wanted the color on the tips or the entire nail, I appreciated that she gave me a choice. Good place for nails as it was a little crowded when I came in and the customers seem to know the manicurists (sign they have regulars). I'd come back here for a gel manicure - $25, not bad and they do a good job. They've held up so far (but it's only been one day :D) Parking lot is small so if you don't mind a short walk, park in the plaza right behind with the $.99 store. read more

The owner (forget her name) is the one who did my hair. I did a light golden blonde with streaks. I loved how it came out! So do all my friends. I decided to give this place 2 chances considering the fact that my sister loves it here. 1st time: made an appointment, waited and hour and they still hadn't helped us. As soon as we stood up to walk away, they all of a sudden had opened chairs for us. We decided to leave anyways 2nd time: just went in today to get a full set done. Two different people worked on my nails. Literally just cut my nails, buffed them, and glued the nails on. No nail cleaning, no nail shaping with a nail filer, they didn't even clean my cuticles !! I mean I don't do this often but I'm PRETTY sure that's the most basic service a customer always gets when they go to get their nails done. I mean the nails are cute, but $40 for them to just glue on nails, put liquid and powder, and paint them? This place only has this one star ONLY because of how nice it looks. I have been coming here for 15+years and as the years gone by the l worse it got. The past three times I've made an appointment and each time pissed me off. The first appointment the girl did a no call no show and they didn't tell me until after until an hour later. Second time they told me I had to wait because apparently I never called for an appointment so I got up and left. The third time was today!! I called on Saturday and I came in today for my 10 o'clock appointment and they said no one wrote me down at an appointment. I just snapped.
